Review: Spx Football 2012

It has been awhile since we here at Sport Card Collectors have busted a box of Upper Deck product..so here we go.

We didn't know how this product would turn out since it was done College style when it used to be an NFL product but we were pleasantly surprised and Upper Deck did a great job with it.

Now onto our full review:

Packaging: Kinda of a dull design. Not eye catchy to most.

Base Cards: The design isn't bad. Reminds me of the Icons Football from '99 which I enjoyed. But the downside is some of the photography used was a little blurry. And its not just my pictures :)

Rookie Cards: I like how they made it different than the base. I like when rookie cards stand out on the product and all of the rookies are numbered. And it stays true to the Spx product and how its always been.

Inserts: Inserts in this product were not plentiful. But the ones we got really are eye catching. The acetate Slot cards are spectacular. Gotta appreciate good cards printed on plastic. The inserts below the acetate are rookie inserts that bring us back to Spx of the late 90's. They are Rookie Finites which the Weedon is the /50 parallel called Radiance.

Memorabilia: Upper Deck does a great job with their memorabilia cards. Well designed and layout.

Autographs: Looks like Upper Deck spent a lot of time with using Spx as a rookie laden product. We didn't hit it big with any of our rookie autos, but Quinton Coples could turn out well from what he showed us in the preseason anyways. With one autograph jersey per box that also helps make this product very attractive.

Overall: A good looking product. I don't feel we got a great value from it since all of our hits were not great. But you can hit it big with this product if you pull the right players and we have seen breaks where that has happened.

Ratings:  Bloggers Note: Our ratings are based specifically on the blaster, box or packs we opened and do not express what the overall product could bring. Ratings based on a 1-5. 1 Being the lowest and 5 being the highest.
