Retail Break 'Em: 2 Rack Packs Of 2014 Topps Baseball Series 1

For some reason I cannot stay away from Topps Series 1 baseball this year. I don't know what it is. Is it the appeal of trying to get a big hit? Is it because I am ready for some new cards? Or is it because my baseball card need is coming back to life. Whatever it is, I am enjoying it.

This time I broke two Rack Packs or what Topps likes to now call "Jumbo Packs". You find 36 cards per pack along with 2 blue parallels (Walmart editions only) and 1 green parallel for $4.98.

Here is how I did:

I am actually enjoying the designs this year on Topps inserts. They are finally digging back into the past and taking time on designing them. These rack packs landed me my first gold of 2014 of soon-to-be Super Star Jurickson Profar of the Rangers.

Another thing about this years Topps Series 1 cards is the time you spend with them. Not only do I have to sort them like I normally would, but I have to check every card for a Sparkle Variation. Those are not the easiest to spot even with all of the visuals there is out there to find.

Let me know your thoughts on this break and if you have broken any yet.

  1. Love the Walmart Blue Josmil Pinto and Aaron Hicks. Hopefully they will both turn into regular players at some point this season. I haven't purchased any rack packs yet this year. I've only bought the single packs. I'm a bigger fan of some of the sets coming out in the next month or so (Heritage and Gypsy Queen).
