Baseball Card Yard Sale Find Part 13: A Slice Of Pie Washed Down With Some Sp

Well, here is another post to what will be many posts of me breaking down what I got at a Yard Sale that I posted about recently. Today's post consists of two brands that I didn't have any cards of surprisingly. So anything I found in this box was going to be new to me and it only cost fifty cents!

The first brand in the box was 2002 Topps American Pie, you know the cards I have been using for the Caption This cards as of recent. There is a fun mix of players and public figures in the set. I was roughly only missing 10 cards from the entire set so that was pretty cool. Maybe something I chase down to fill later on.

Behind the base cards were a ton of these inserts. There was a variety of players and colors. Some players there was more than one color of.

After that was1995 Sp. I really loved looking through these.
Shiny Metallic Dufex...AND THEY ARE DIE CUT!! I found two Hideo Nomo rookies hiding in this stack.

The base cards. The colors on left hand of the card are coded. Blue went to players who played in the NL, red to the AL. Another nice Jeter add..boy does he look young!

Another Jr...#421

There were also some silver parallels. I showed one here of Jimmy Key next to his regular base card

A ton more of the silver parallels were found. Some Yankees in this pile as well.

However, the silver parallels looked at their best on the rookie cards. When you take an already nice looking card with the dufex, then add a rainbow shine to it (sorry that these pics DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO DOING THESE JUSTICE), you have a huge winner in my books! It's like a refractor!
This was yet another nice find in my opinion. A Griffey, some shiny inserts, some fun base cards from American Pie and all for a great price. Doesn't get any better than that!

We are starting to wind down on these finds. Still more to come and more fun stuff to see but getting closer to the end. Keep checking back for more!

Baseball Card Yard Sale Find Part 12: LOADED 2000 Upper Deck Box!!

Well, here is another post to what will be many posts of me breaking down what I got at a Yard Sale that I posted about recently. Today's post consists of tons of great finds from 2000 Upper Deck!

First and foremost, not only does this card catch my attention because it's Derek Jeter, but it also draws me in because of the photography. Once again, Upper Deck simply has the best out there. Baseball card collecting truly misses cards with this kind of photography.

Another thing I must note about these Upper Deck base cards is the great card stock they are printed on. None of this paper thin stuff. These are high glossed thicker base card awesomeness!

Griffey Jr #420

Star "Rookie" of Alfonso Soriano. Yes, I put " " around rookie. We all know Soriano's TRUE ROOKIE year is 1999, but, in baseball card terms, they are a rookie for three years sometimes.

Once I got through the roughly 150 base cards, came an inflowing of inserts. I was overly impressed.

SHINY...OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH

SORRY...EYES...DRAWING...TO...SHINY...AGAIN...

Another Jeter....

And another...

And once again....another...
WOW! was all I could say after this discovery. Probably the best fifty cents I have ever spent! The inserts were spectacular both in design and the players I got. You then throw in another Griffey and some Star Rookies and you have one incredible find in my opinion.

More yard sale finds to come!

Baseball Card Yard Sale Find Part 11: 1996 Upper Deck

Well, here is another post to what will be many posts of me breaking down what I got at a Yard Sale that I posted about recently. Today's post is on a small box of 1996 Upper Deck.

Ruben Rivera was the best Star Rookie of the group. I at one point owned the Cal Ripken Jr 2131 subset card celebrating his game streak, but traded it. Glad to have it back again!

A Jeter for the PC!

Another Jr!!!! #419

And to finish it off I had to show this card. Not just because he is a Yankee, but because of the unique photography. Its a slow motion pic showing his complete swing and follow through.
Overall, not many finds, but some good ones .I will definitely have a few cards for the PC in the big picture not just from the ones I showed. I try to limit the pictures to the best cards from each lot I show. These were the best of the group, but there was roughly another 75 1996 Upper Deck cards with a mix of players and teams including Yankees and rookies.

There is still more yard sale finds to come! Keep coming back for more!

Winner Of September Contest Week 2

Entries for this week were down again. So, I have decided because of this, that for the month of September, I will be giving away random insert cards to our 2nd and 3rd place winners. It will be a lot of 5 cards or so.

Now onto the winner. For an unbelievable 4th time in this contest and third month in a row, I  also think he needs to buy a lotto ticket, Scott N. takes home the win! He was the only one to choose Baltimore and 5 runs. Scott, please email me at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com with your address. Also come back after this final weeks contest to pick your prize when the winner is announced.

There is good news out of this winner announcement, since Scott is already in the Winner's Circle, that once again leaves a spot open for a random person to make it in. So make sure you enter every time to earn a shot in if you don't have one!

One more week to go in this months contest. It has already been posted and ready for entries. This is your LAST CHANCE to earn a spot in October's Grand Finale and bigger prize from BCW that I know nothing about. It's SUPER SECRET so please make sure to enter to earn your chance!

Thanks to everyone who entered and good luck in this final week!

September Contest...FINAL WEEK, FINAL CHANCE FOR OCT!

With the lack of entries for the August Contest, I am not sure on what I am giving away yet for this month due to those lack of entries. If we can average 30 a week, prizes will be much better. We drop below that, they will be average. Good Luck to those who enter! The best way to build entries is to spread the word through RT's, Shares and just be word of social media. Thanks!

WELCOME! This is the first week of our September Contest. Now, compared to monthly contests in the past, this one is different. Instead of picking different winners daily, earning points, having the top three in points win prizes you only need to do this one entry where there will be one winner at the end of this week. This contest will run for three weeks and there will be a total of three winners. Once you have won for this month, you cannot win again as we want to spread the prize love around. Also, once you have won for the month, you will go into the WINNERS CIRCLE where you will not only be randomed to pick a prize for the month (all three names will be randomed and the person at the top of the list from the random picks their prize then so on), but will get a guaranteed spot in October's Monthly Contest. That is the ONLY way to be able to enter October's Contest. which has three prizes including a GRAND PRIZE from BCW Supplies.

This months prizes in the Prize Pot are:

Prizes from Sport Card Collectors:2nd and 3rd place prizes will be a lot of 5 random inserts from random sports.

Prize from BCW Supplies:
