LOADED Trade Mail Day From @GregorioGuindon

What started out as a conversation with one person that I thought may be interested in a 8x10 Panini Sammy Watkins autograph, turned into a conversation with another person and a completed trade.

My conversation began with @dpalagi518 who I started a discussion with to trade the Watkins. In the midst of our convesation, he suggested that I go discuss my trading piece with @GregorioGuindon who was collecting Watkins and might enjoy it for his man cave wall.

Trusting @dpalagi518 suggestion, I started my trade talk with @GregorioGuindon and we were able to work out a trade pretty fast. I also added in a few other cards in the trade as well. I was happy with what I was receiving that the fact that I was able to find someone who would enjoy the Watkins more than myself.

Not only did the trade happen fast, so didn't the arrival of the mail day from the trade. Here is my score:

(You must have guessed that more Andre Williams were involved)

This one is numbered to 49. I love the look of it with the rainbow shine.

A Spectra rookie/jersey auto

One of my very few Topps Triple Threads cards. This is a nice addition however the auto seems to get lost in that big gold box lol.

Then this sick patch auto. Look at that patch!!

All of these Williams were new adds as well.

Not only did he trade me those, he threw in some FREEBIES!

Some numbered goodies here including two Damontre Moore rookies. I really hope he takes off this year

And also a Eli and Plax jersey cards. I really miss watching these two hook up in the Red Zone. If only Plax hadn't made one mistake in his life who knows where his career would be right now. Anyways, it's my first jersey card of his as well.
A big thanks goes out to @dpalagi518 for suggesting I go make a trade with @GregorioGuindon. And a HUGE thanks goes out to @GregorioGuindon for being an awesome trading partner who is now added to my trade circle. Thanks again for the extras as well. Much appreciated!!

If you have Twitter and are not following either of these guys, you better go click that follow button. Great guys and highly suggested trading partners.

One More Card Off My Want List

Every preseason there seems to be that one standout player that you weren't expecting. And if you watched the preseason in 2014, you know the one name you heard continuously, Corey Washington.

This guy was making Odell Beckham type catches in the preseason and was someone I looked forward to seeing on the field in 2014 as he seemed to be the WR/Red Zone piece the Giants were missing. However, he fell down the depth chart with players like Preston Parker stepping up and the game-changer that turned out to be Odell Beckham and all of a sudden you have a forgotten guy. A guy who led all receivers in receiving yards in the preseason and who I thought would become a household name.

I never forgot about him. Nor did I forget about the amazing plays he made. I remembered what happened in 2010 when Victor Cruz came onto the scene and ripped defenses apart in the 2010 preseason before sustaining an injury. Fast forward and see where Victor Cruz is now (with the exception of last years season ending injury), he is a Pro Bowler.

Will Corey Washington be able to make an impact in 2015 for the Giants? Hard to tell. The G-men have much depth at the position and he has at least Cruz, Beckham, Randle and newest Giant Dwayne Harris ahead of him. He has truly got to have another standout preseason and training camp to prove his worth and maybe save himself a roster spot. If for some reason he doesn't make the Giants roster, I would be surprised if he doesn't land elsewhere.

Despite his lack of playing time in 2014, he is still a Giant at this point and I found it worth at least picking up his rookie autograph at a cheap price. Cause you just never know.

Another One? Yes, Of Course!

No, this is not a repeat post. This is a totally new card but the same card. Confusing huh?

When I had the opportunity to add a piece of baseball card history to my collection again this time at a much cheaper price, I couldn't go wrong. So, once again, another Rey Ordonez 1997 Upper Deck Game Jersey Card. Not as nice of a swatch as the first time, but still a nice card.

And if you had forgotten what the first card looked like, here it is again.
I still need to chase down a Gwynn, very cheap on Dacardworld but I haven't had the chance to get it yet. Of course I would need the Griffey too, in order to have the set. In the meantime, I will bask in these two.

Breakin Wax:1995 Score Football 3-Pack Break

1995 Score Football. You either love the design or hate it. No matter how you feel about it, it's still a fun rip. I, honestly, like the design. I can't tell you what it is I like about it, but there is just something that catches my attention. Of course the memories of opening this may contribute to that as well.

In each hobby pack of 1995 Score Football, there are 12 cards per pack. I found my packs for $1.99 each on eBay.

The design is pretty simple. A bordered card featuring a player and team logo that is "torn" into the card.

Back of the base card

What some may not have paid attention to back in 1995 was the fact this was Jeff Blake's rookie card. Some of you are like Jeff Blake? Jeff Blake was a QB for many teams starting out with the Jets, known mostly for his time with the Bengals where he put up some decent numbers and ending his career in 2005 with the Bears.

There were subsets as well such as checklists, I wonder away with em. So much easier to do sets that way. Star Struck is the other subset.

Rookie cards looked a bit cool. Here comes Napoleon Kafuman busting up the middle of your card!

In my three packs, I landed 2 of these 1:4 Red Siege parallels including a John Elway one.

Back of the parallels. These were done in simpler times when we were told what they were. Now-a-days parallels are a bit more challenging. Especially refractors and if they are not numbered.
Overall, not too bad. The Elway Red Siege saved the break. However, that's not why I opened these. It wasn't to make a buck. It was for fun and that I had. Isn't that what the hobby is all about?

My First Dave Brown Autograph

Was he one of the greatest Giants quarterbacks, no, not by a long shot. Did I need his autograph still? Absolutely.

Dave Brown QB'd the NY Giants from 92-97 with many awful performances and seasons. His best was probably 1994 when he went on to claim the starting QB position leading them to a winning record. It only went down from there. He was a much better College QB at Duke than he was a QB in the NFL, but to me, once a Giant, always a Giant no matter what.

I was searching for more 1990's card adds when I stumbled on this card for $1.99. I couldn't say no. I really liked these autographs in the 90's, however you had to make sure to store them correctly from the sunlight or the auto would fade, and it being a Giant made the card more desirable. I also didn't have a Dave Brown auto yet either so that helped. This to me covered to PC areas in 90's cards and Giants.

Contest Mail Day From @JGFan24ever

On Twitter, you can find some amazing collectors and one that comes to mind right off is Michael. Or on Twitter, @JGFan24ever. Every once in awhile he holds a few #PayItForward contests where he puts cards up for grabs from all three major manufacturers. All you have to do is tweet out corresponding hashtag.

Last week I was a lucky winning recipient. Here is what I scored....

Boom! My boy Odell. Can't wait to see him back on the field again.

And this auto of Rex Burkhead. This is a nice add because I both enjoy the flashback design and the fact the card is a rookie auto.
I just wanna say thanks again to Michael for this sweet mail day and if you are not following him yet on Twitter, please do so. He not only does giveaways, but is truly a great guy.

And The Cramers Choice Award Goes To....

To finish what the post title claims...And The Cramers Choice Award Goes To...SPORT CARD COLLECTORS BLOG!!

Thank you, thank you. I will be more than happy to accept these off from eBay for less than $3 a piece.

That's right. Once again my patience and wanting of 90's cards I couldn't afford once but can now continues. Today I officially get to cross off Cramers Choice awards. I originally only wanted one of these to say that I had one, but when the prices dipped so low I couldn't turn it down.

If any of you remember, these cards were pretty much impossible to pull at 1:720 odds. This one seller had well over ten of them. I was rather impressed that I got four.

Other than the tough odds on these, I really like the design too. A 3D trophy appeal with rainbow foil, a player and a "name plate" at the bottom has this card flowing well. There isn't too much of one thing. It's very well balanced.

Now onto the card gallery!

First up is Jarome Iginla

Then Paul Kariya

Then Eric Lindros

And finally the most valuable one of the group, Peter Forsberg.

Just in case you are curious, the back of these cards
I really had fun bidding on these. I had no idea I was going to land all four for less than $12. Nor did I ever think I would own one. To me, this was a steal by my standards.

With a 1996, 1997 jersey card knocked off my list and now these, the search for 90's awesomeness is far from over. But, a lot of the top cards I wanted are.

What do you think of my newest pickups? Yay? Nay? Comments are always appreciated!

90's Flashback:1996 Score Big Bats Kenny Lofton

When I think Big Bats, Kenny Loften doesn't come to mind but to Score in 1996, he did.

Yes, Kenny was a great hitter with incredible speed, but when I think Big Bat, I am thinking Mark McGwire home run crushing type of player.

Despite their player judgement for this particular card, it's not a bad looking card overall with foil and baseball bats in a "fan" formation. They definitely got the message right with the design.

Beach Boys + Rueben Randle: A Panini Reward Mail Day

With 300 Reward Points to use and no patience with saving onto them, I was waiting for the opportune time to jump on a couple cards. With daily check-ins on the Panini Reward website, I finally caught two cards I really wanted with my remaining points.

First up is a new Randle for that PC. Pretty decent size swatch. I just wished it wasn't one color.

And then this......
Yes. A Beach Boys Concert Gear card. Why? You may ask. IT'S A FREAKIN BEACH BOY! It's a piece of music history!! I also like the colorful swatch.

I thought these were two pretty nice scores overall and I am glad to see the Panini Reward site expanding more. The shipping cost still stinks, but at least the cards have gotten nicer on there and I didn't have to wait for a redemption card either.
