REVIEW:Cryptozoic Big Bang Theory Seasons 6&7 (GIVEAWAY)

One of the most iconic comedies on TV today with catchphrases like Bazinga, makes it's return to cardboard to capture seasons 6&7.

Like with all Cryptozoic products, there doesn't seem to be a disappointing point and all of these come with a surprise or two.

Read on to see my thoughts on this latest product release.

In every box of Cryptozoic Big Bang Theory Seasons 6&7, there are 24 Packs Per Box with 5 Cards Per Pack. You should be able to find 2 hits per box (most box breaks I have seen, including mine have had at least 3), one ON-CARD AUTOGRAPH and one wardrobe/prop card. Boxes are currently running roughly $75 per.

The base set consists of classic moments from Seasons 6&7 and the bast set has 72 cards in which a box should give you the set. The photography is full color and the cards are high in gloss.

One of my favorite cards from the base set is card number 1 showcasing the whole gang having fun.

Just like with other products, the base set and inserts have Silver Foil Board parallels that fall 1:4 packs

Now time to take a look at the other insert offerings. You should be able to complete each set in a box break.

These are Portraits that fall 1:4 pack. I think the design is really cool.

Artist Series which is a fun way to capture the characters in artists renditions fall 1:4 packs. There are def some fun images in this set. This one was my favorite.

Up next, wouldn't be a Cryptozoic release without a puzzle to put together. Fun artist design and fall 1:4 packs

The puzzle together....

Another fun parallel to pull are these Cryptomium that fall 1:48 packs. Can you imagine if they added a rainbow refractor look to these....wow.

Now onto my hits. Never a bad thing to get a bonus HIT in a box.

Up first, wardrobe of Leonard. Two-color as well.

And the next one, Penny....Penny....Penny.. wardrobe. Not going to complain here as this isn't a sight for sore eyes at all (don't tell my wife I said that ;) )

There are also, Dual Wardrobe cards (1:96 packs), Triple Wardrobe card (Limited and Numbered to 25), and Quad Wardrobe card (Limited and Numbered to 25)

And rounding out my hits, an on-card auto of Pasha D. Lychnikoff who played one of the astronauts when Howard went to space. Of course we all remember Howard's nickname, "Fruit Loops" that the astronauts teased him with thanks to Howard's mother.

There are also two different autograph designs. Doesn't seem to be much difference in value wise or rarity.

Here are a list of signers for the product including the legendary Bob Newhart.

Bob Newhart as Arthur Jeffries
Laurie Metcalf as Mary Cooper
Pasha D. Lychnikoff as Dimitri Rezinov
Ryan Cartwright as Cole
Ian Scott Rudolph as Captain Sweatpants
Brian Posehn as Bert
Brian Thomas Smith as Zack Johnson
Matt Battaglia as Officer Reynolds
Laura Spencer as Emily Sweeney
Josh Peck as Jesse
Christine Baranski as Dr. Beverly Hofstadter
Margo Harshman as Alex Jensen
Kate Miccuci as Lucy
Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz
Mayim Bialik as Amy Farrah Fowler
Melissa Rauch as Bernadette Rostenkowski

You can also find rare autographed wardrobe cards of,
  • Mayim Bialik as Amy Farrah Fowler
  • Melissa Raush as Bernadette Rostenkowski
  • Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz
Other offerings not found in my box are, Printing Plates fall 1:192 packs, Sketch cards that fall 1:576 packs and a card I really want, a jigsaw puzzle prop card featuring a piece of a puzzle that Penny was putting together on an episode. Cryptozoic is very clever when it comes to adding fun prop cards.

You can find the checklist, HERE if you are interested.

Overall, a fun break and having that added extra hit adds more value to the break. It's a bit disappointing not to find four of the top stars of the show not sign for these seasons, but they replaced them with a couple of good ones. Does it even out, will be tough.

But, there is still plenty to find in this product and the shows popularity will help with anything you pull if you are in it just to sell. The price point is okay for a product promising two hits and instead you land three and I have even seen four a few times.

I think you combine a complete base set, all three insert sets, around 6 parallels and 2-3 hits in a box and you have some value in every box. To me, another Cryptozoic winner but you guys may think otherwise.

Contest time!

Okay, how I like to run these is dependent on how the entries are. It can be anything from an autograph giveaway to some inserts. There could be one winner, there could be up to three with one winner taking home the autograph. We have to reach 30 entries to unlock three winners however. But, I know we can do it.

So go spread the word!!
