An Exquisite Nicks

So we continue my trade recap with 90's Niche Football Card blog today with a really nice looking Hakeem Nicks.

This card has some many things right about it. Nice design, solid patch and an on-card autograph. Not to mention, it features a NY Giant.

Nicks had a solid career in NY after his 1st round drafting in 2009. Towards the end of his time with the Giants he couldn't get a TD and was no longer relevant. He bounced around teams for a bit after that and even made a NY Giants return. At this point I don't think he is with any teams or will get signed again. But, I will always remember his efforts and especially his play in the playoffs in 2012.

  1. Hakeem Nicks is a great example of just how much talent there is in the NFL. This guy was a standout player... but every year new star talent enters the league and pushes aside guys like Nicks. It really makes you appreciate guys like Steve Smith (sorry... not the USC Smith), Larry Fitzgerald, and Anquan Boldin who have been around for over a decade.

    1. You are absolutely right. I did feel the same way about USC Steve Smith when he wasn't injured. But those other guys are tough as nails and have been around a long time. Sometimes football fans and collectors forget about them with all of the young talent despite these guys putting up solid numbers.
