Breakin Wax:2015 Topps Valor Football Blaster Box

Valor is one of those products I am up in the air about. I like the design but it's still not something on the top of my list. I still buy at least some and this time it was in blaster form. How did I do, well, let's look!

In each blaster box of 2015 Topps Valor, there are 7 packs per box with 8 cards per pack. There is also one rookie jersey card per box for $20.

The design has a rough/smooth surface. It's full of color and schemed to the featured team. I picked up 4 Giants in mine.

A fun mix of Veterans, Legends and

Rookies that I got two per pack, at least, of. No big names besides this guy...

Strength parallel, 1:10. Rookie PC is what I see.

Random inserts. I don't care much for the design. Way to similar to the base cards.

My relic card. Not a big name, but a numbered Speed, 1:10 parallel.
Overall, I have seen better blaster breaks from the product. Mine was weak. No top rookies, 1 parallel and a weak relic. Would I say $20 well spent? Probably not. But I will say I would probably give it another try.

Dollar Tree Panini Football Packs

In the pas,t I have bought packs from the Dollar Tree and have been impressed. However, it seems they have made a few changes to the cards that they carry. They used to carry retail packs you would have bought in a retail outlet. They were leftovers of ones that didn't sell at certain retail locations but needed to be moved so the Dollar Tree would get them in. It was really awesome and I used to get some seriously good hits from them. Alone I landed multiple jersey cards pulls and some top notch rookie cards such as Blake Griffin worth $20 BV.

Now it seems they have what I would like to call "Dollar Tree exclusive" cards.

In these exclusive packs, you get 5 cards. There doesn't seem to be any inserts and in the baseball there aren't any rookies from what I can tell. The football ones come with at least one rookie card per pack. So I said, why not and bought a few. I was putting together sets and this seemed like a cheap way to do so.

I am not posting my results from Score due to the lack of anything significant. However, I am hoping what I got can help my set out.

The Prestige base came stacked!

No Jameis, Mariota, Gurley or Cooper, but still some semi-decent guys

Fast, fast guy. Very talented. Could be a top WR in years to come.
Even one for the Giants PC.

Overall, if you are looking for big hits or any hits, these are not for you. These types of packs are meant mainly for kids, new collectors, or set collectors. Of course for $1 a pack these packs can also serve as a bust if you need to get one in and couldn't afford anything else.

What are your thoughts on these packs? Have you pulled any good rookies? Let's hear it!

Glistening Hampton

I will say this right off, my post from yesterday and today have similar titles and similar cards. Not to mention, they are not really that catchy. However, the sum up the mail day.

Up first, a 1995 Mystery Finest card. Would love to find one unpeeled too.
One of my favorite products of the 90's, Totally Certified. This one is numbered to 2499. Paid like $1 to add this one.
Anyone who collected Leaf in the 90's will remember these. I still need the die cut version

My love of holograms still exists.

One of my favorite early 90's, 1994, parallels.

Two parallels in one. Red Siege and Artists Proof.

Start of a rainbow....

This one is /500

Stunning is the word I would use for these 1995 Summitt Ground Zero parallels

Boosters I would also use that word for. Pretty similar in sharpness, but I still think Summitt had the slight edge.
Young Stars was a combo of the two parallels above with a slight touch of Museum Collection.
As I stated in the title, these glisten. Can't think of a better title than above despite being comparable to yesterday.

There are still more Hampton mail days to post coming ahead. I promise to break them up a bit. I know not many of you will be fans or not know who he is, but the cards featured should bring back those memories of collecting or maybe be new viewings to you.

(BLOGGERS NOTE: This post was put together before I decided to do the Hampton Cardboard Craze blog. You will definitely see these cards again on that blog individually front and back and with more detail on each. If you haven't added that blog to your read list, please do so. Hampton Shines!

When I said I was going all out with my Rodney Hampton Super PC, I wasn't joking. This is the most focused I have been on player collecting in some time.

One thing I have been trying to do with this PC is find the steals. Most important at the top of that list autographs and numbered cards. Today's mail day includes both.

First up, Collectors Edge holofoil parallel. These were limited to 500. Yes, I will use the word limited here. (the tape and writing were on the top loader)

90's refractor from 1997, these were done right. They were even labeled on the back as refractors with the letter R

And when you combine Chrome technology, refractor and throwback design(this one of Hampton's rookie year), you have a winner. This is a Topps Archives reserve autograph.
This is just the beginning of mail day show offs to come of Hampton. So stay tuned!

One GIANT(s) Steal!

I am not usually a fan of buying lots on eBay that just state a team, a few pictures of what you might get and what you should round-a-bout get in the lot in terms of amount of cards. That is usually a red flag.

For some reason or another, maybe because of the Giants depressing season or the fact the lot was supposed to come with 4 hits for $12, I decided to take a chance on one.

Glad I did.

First up the lot included all of these base, inserts and rookies.

Totally dig these Seahorns. I miss Invincible.

New Andre Williams addition. Nice Tiki Barber add.

Rshad Bulldozer Jennings numbered to 35!

This was a nice surprise. PLATINUM parallel. May have been one of my favorite cards from the lot. Only my second one of these.

This card sparkled its way into my hands. What a beautiful insert. They definitely don't make cards like this anymore.

New addition to my Jernigan PC. I was surprised to find a new one with the amount of Jernigans I have.

Three new jersey cards as well. Was I being spied on....not sure..

And the lot came with a big finish, one really cool Tools Of The Trade card of my boy Andre Williams with some sick patches. This was one of the featured finds in the pictures.

This was a great buy in my opinion and one I would even call a steal.  I think even you non-Giants fans would agree. I tried to go back and buy a second lot but they were all scooped up.Curses, my loss.

What's the best bargain lot you ever bought that surprised you?
