REVIEW:2016-2017 Totally Certified Basketball Box 2+GIVEAWAY!

Yesterday I posted my first box break of this product and it was a tough one to swallow.

Was 2 any better, well, read on!

Unlike yesterday's box, I actually pulled a top tier rookie in this box. If not the top. Good start because this was actually out of pack 1.

My parallels were much better than the last box pulling a variety of them. The Capela is /199, the Clarkson is /99 and the Howard is /60. Not to mention this

Camo /25.All look really sharp!

Some inserts including Dirk.

Anytime you pull a Kobe insert, you win.

And the jersey card hits, despite being single color swatches again, this time are Totally Certified Materials and both /99 blue parallels.

And my autograph is of  the 10th overall pick in the 2016 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks and a parallel /99. His auto could use some work.

Overall, I would be lying if I didn't think the second box blew the first one out of the water. I guess it shows the parity of every break. You just don't know which of the two boxes you will land. Well, I usually do. The first one is usually what I get for my own personal breaks. That's simply just my luck.

Now time for the giveaway!

There will be two winners, one will win this

The other will win this,

In order to enter, you must guess the numbering out of /25 for this card

AND follow these rules

  3. Card may be shipped PWE. I like to forewarn on this.
  5. Also leave me a comment telling me the card numbering /25 for the Nik Stauskas above
  6. Must do BOTH 5 and 6 to be entered or entry will be null.
  7. The ones who guess the right number or are closest without going over will be entered in the giveaways.
  8. Sport Card Collectors or it's owner (person who runs the blog), WILL NOT be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged mail. Sorry had to add this in since someone tried to scam me once about this.

  10. Don't forget to thank the above sponsor of this contest and I won't mind a thank you as well :)
Good luck to those that enter!!

  1. Thanks to Tracy and Panini America for the box. Solid review as always.

    Pro- on card autographs
    Con- not enough veteran autographs

    Nik Stauskas guess- 19/25

  2. Pro: Love the design and the different parallels.

Con: Hits are really hit or miss (as we saw from box 1!!)

    Number /25: 3

  3. I thank Panini with my wallet very often :)
Pro: cards look nice. Especially the parallels. For a set that has the player over a computer generated background especially.
con: set is too small at only 140 cards.
For the Stauskas (Or Sauce Castillo!) I will say you got lucky and pulled his jersey #, 11.

  4. 12/25

Pro - Panini being able to show logos
Con - only 5 cards per pack

  5. pro -like the throwback jersey on the kobe to the all-star game
con - not much creativity on design of relics

    Stauskas 5/25

  6. Thanks to you, Tracy, and Panini for the cards and review!

Pro: Sharp design, especially the inserts.

Con: don't think I'm contradicting myself, but I'm not a fan of the "fish out of water" card, where the player has been sicked into the Phantom Zone. Put some other players around him, even faded out versions.

Going with #16 out of 25.

  7. The cards are pretty swanky looking. On-card autos are always appreciated. And like Jafronius was saying, it'd be nice to see more real backgrounds in the design.

    I'll guess 21/25.

  8. Thanks Panini and SCC as well as Tracy Hackler for the chance.

    Pro They look great

Con May not get a good rookie card, pending your fav team

    Number 7 / Nick Stauskas

  9. It is nice of Panini and Tracy Hackler to provide the cards for review, and it's cool of SCC to offer these giveaways.

I am guessing # 12/25 for the Stauskas card.

Pro: I like the design and checklist for the Return to Sender cards. Most of my favorite players are known for blocking shots.

Con: Value for price is always a hard thing with these high-end products. Maybe by the case the value evens out a bit, but going box by box it seems like you are either really happy or very sad. It's much more cost-effective to buy singles on the secondary market. After seeing breaks like these two boxes, I would be in no hurry to go out and buy a box on my own.

  10. 7 of 25

  11. Pros: very good looking cards
Cons: not a huge fan of the design of the inserts shown such as return to sender and franchise foundations

    Nik Stauskas card # 13

  12. 14/25. Pro: The look/style of the cards. Con: Probably the inconsistency between boxes, but this isn't the only product you could say that about. Love the Stauskas and Drummonds btw :)
