You Get In, You Score!

I posted not long ago about my break results from Top Shelf Breaks and mentioned at the end of that post I had gotten a pretty nice pull from 2017 Score football in a break with them, well it's time to show it off!

Since then, I have been in two more Score breaks and all were included in this mail day.

My first Score break I had the Raiders and my second I had the Broncos and Steelers. Both went really well in my opinion landing me low #d cards and an autograph for only $12 a spot. But, I will let you decide that.

Up first, the possible beginning of a Ware rainbow. Got the /20 and /50 here along with Amerson and Osemele gold.

Mr. John Conner.  /20 parallel and a gold /50 autograph. This guy could really step in when Bell is down or is off the field.

And finally, the biggest pull, a 5/6 Derek Carr End Zone parallel. I consider this the biggest pull of the group.

If you wanna pull some hits like I did or even bigger "monsters" as they have pulled plenty, check out Top Shelf Breaks, HERE. You can also follow them on Twitter for break updates and for giveaways. Good people who look out for collectors and trying to make breaking affordable and fun.

Thoughts on my mail day is welcomed below!

BASEically Awesome Part 13:1994 Collectors Choice Baseball

Are you surprised to see another Upper Deck set on BASEically Awesome? Probably not. As I have discussed in prior parts Upper Deck=photography and their special photography makes their base cards stand out.

Even on a low-end brand such as Collectors Choice.

Where else do you see Larry Walker making a catch like this?

Or Kevin signing autos before a game

Or Nigel just smiling away

Or how Olson had this on the field

Or Phillips getting caught in midair and the ball being shown that way as well

And finally a focused stare by Dante

I only selected a few of my favorites. Most of the 600+ cards in this set look like this.

What are your guys thoughts on this product and which one of the cards above is your favorite shot? If you wanna caption one as well, you are more than welcomed!

Defense Is Swarming!

In the final part of my trade with @DJSeneseiNJ, I showcase some defensive card adds. I don't normally focus on defensive adds unless it's something cheap or something I didn't have.

That's today's mail day.

First up, dominating shut down corner Jack Rabbit Janoris auto add. He was so much more than I expected last year. Such a great signing for the Giants. Hope he is even better this year.

Then Vernon. I mentioned awhile back that I wanted a Vernon auto after the Giants signed him. This is also a gold parallel as you can tell by the gold sticker. These are /99.

Well, I showed off one end, here is the other. JPP auto that brings me back to the 90's with the design that Panini used from the Cramers Choice awards that were released in the late 90's. This card is also low numbered 4/10 so not an easy find.

Next is what I think was one of my coolest adds from the trade, a /25 Eli Apple Draft Day hat swatch. I think it's awesome it has a pretty sweet swatch. Nothing I have which is why I loved adding it.

Finally, my first Giants plate. I have one that's autographed, but this is my first that's not. This is of possible starting LB BJ Goodson.

Overall, a really great first trade with @DJSeneseiNJ. If you haven't followed him yet, please do. He does giveaways and may be someone you want to start a trade with especially after seeing my non-stop gallery of goodness. I know I had a great trade experience and was shocked by the freebie he threw in.

Thoughts on my new adds are welcomed in comments.

Offensive Attack

In the second part of my trade with @DJSeneseiNJ, I go on the offensive side of the trade. So you know what tomorrow means.

We kick it off with a new Shepard relic. I like the combined look of Contenders and relics.

This David Wilson card combines one of my favorite designs and my favorite team I am still wondering how good this guy could have been.

Here is another Wilson add. I wonder how much it would cost to do a full nameplate. Possible next hobby adventure??....

Unlike Wilson, we may find out soon how good this guy could be. A well designed /49 autograph memorabilia card of the Perkerlator, Paul Perkins.

And to finish this part up, what appears to be just a base Elite Eli Manning. That's until you look a little lower and see it's a 2016 National Parallel. Then you flip it over to see it's a rare 2/5 parallel. Pretty awesome!

This card actually was a surprise in our trade. I had no idea it was arriving.

Two parts down and tomorrow we go on the defensive side that has a couple of pretty solid low numbered card!

CAPTION THIS CARD!

This card is crying out for a Caption.
Leave a caption below for this card. Please keep it free of language and clean please for our younger audience
Mine would be....
"Can you touch up my lip gloss too?"

The Foundation

In the beginning of a trade there is always a foundation you start off by and then build up more as you go. Well, I recently pulled off my very first trade with @DJSeneseiNJ and I am breaking it down over the next 3 days to show this build up. Some amazing stuff in the finale.

Today, we are starting with that foundation. It also may take me awhile to update all of my NY Giants PC numbers to match the new pickups as I will be very busy over the next few days and typed these up ahead of time.

Up first, three new Eli's for the PC along with a new Strahan. Digging the Optic shiny.

Up next, 5 new Odell's. Whether you like the guy like me or not, he is Top 3 WR in the league. You gotta at least respect the talent. Anytime I can add to that PC I will.

Die-Cut shinyness!

Speaking of shiny....groovy new Shep rookie. This guy could make a even bigger impact on the field in 2017.

My first Davis Webb cards for my PC. Could someday be leading the Gmen. Still need to find myself an autograph but glad to have at least a couple cards. Once again, I am digging the Peak Performance insert from SAGE.

Speaking of the 2017 Draft, a couple of autographs from the Giants picks. Bisnowaty was a 6th round pick but could make a huge impact on a weak oline.

And to finish it off, well, not a Giants card. However, a 90's designed card on a team I watched a ton of in the 90's, the Yankees. Charlie Hayes on-card autograph from Archives caught my eye as soon as I saw it. I also found the base tossed into the mix as well.

Overall, a great foundation but it only gets better from here. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post where I go and showcase the offensive part of the trade including a card /5!

Adding To My Legacy (Collection)

I have had quite a few mail days over the past couple of weeks but none of them dug back to my roots like today's card.

As many of you guys know I started collecting in the 90's and live and breathe by that era especially 95-99 which I consider the "best years of the hobby."

Why do I consider it that? Well, not only were there some amazing designs, top notch innovation, tons of buying and variety options, affordable high-end products and most of all, rare and tough to find inserts. Which is why a lot of these still hold their value today.

One of those tough to find inserts were the Legacy Parallels from 1998 Flair Showcase. I never pulled one and currently only own one I had traded for from Project Pedro Blog which was a basketball one. Now, I can say I own another thanks to @imqualifying who was posting a bunch of cards for sale but generously gave me this one knowing how much I wanted the card.

Marcus Nash wasn't a big splash out of the rookie class that had many Hall Of Famers, but that doesn't matter to me. Just owning another one of these is really awesome.

A big thanks goes out to @imqualifying for her generosity. I am blown away by it. This card now has it's officially last landing spot and fits nicely in my 90's PC.

I also suggest you go give her a follow and get into some of her sales as prices are cheap and she has a lot of great stuff to offer.

BASEically Awesome Part 12:2001 Topps Fusion Baseball

You wanna know what makes these BASEically Awesome.......you combine 5 of my favorite Topps sets and fuse them into one.

You have Finest

Gallery

Stadium Club with some action packed photography

Gold Label with all it's beauty

And Bowman's Best with lots of shinyness

What isn't there not to love? I actually still wished some of these designs and products existed today like Gallery.

There are 250 cards in the set and I would bet it is some challenge to put together and possibly one that set collectors who like a challenge may want to try.

So how many of you have tried to set collect this? Have any thoughts on a product like this combining many products? Let me hear them in comments!

REVIEW:Cryptozoic's Flash Season 2+GIVEAWAY!

If you liked the Flash that Cryptozoic brought in its Season 1 release of their trading card product for Flash, you shouldn't be for Season 2 either.

Picking up where Season 1 release ended, Barry in Season 2 now takes on metahumans with the help of S.T.A.R. Labs

So let's get to breakin!

Every box of Cryptozoic's The Flash Season 2 comes with 24 packs and 5 cards per pack. You should get one on-card autograph and one wardrobe card per box. Boxes are will run about $85.
Base cards are high gloss, top notch designed and capture key episode moments from Season 2. I think the design fits the theme of the show to a T.
There are 72 cards in the base set in which a box should provide you a set.

These are rainbow foil parallels I pulled. I don't see any details on odds on these but with 8 pulled, I assume 1:3. I really like these a lot and would make for a fun set chase. It adds a bit more flash to Flash.

Scarlet Speedster Deco Foil falls 1:8 packs. I only found 2 in my box however.

Not only do the base cards have parallels, but find them for the inserts as well in both rainbow foil and Scarlet Speedster Deco Foil.

Now onto the inserts. I really liked the bold cinematic images they captured along with the crisp designs and high gloss. They truly look great.

Metas fall 1:3 packs that consists of 9 cards. I completed the set and had a bonus card in my break.

Locations fall 1:3 packs and also have 9 cards in the set. I failed to complete this one falling just one short.

Quotable Cisco fall 1:3 packs and once again consists of 9 cards in the set. I completed this one as well.

Now flashing forward to the hits!

My first is of Wally West that is a piece of his wardrobe. It appears from this pic it's of his shirt.

And my on-card autograph. Should I mention it again that the product is all on-card?!! Yes!

Allison Paige as Eliza Harmon. Nice find in this box!

The overall list of Autograph Signers for Season 2 is:
Amanda Pays as Dr. Tina McGee
Andy Mientus as Hartley Rathaway
David Sobolov as Gorilla Grodd
Liam McIntyre as Mark Mardon / Weather Wizard
Logan Williams as Young Barry
Malese Jow as Linda Park
Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen
Patrick Sabongui as Captain David Singh
Peyton List as Lisa Snart
Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein
Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart
Adam Stafford as Geomancer
Adam Copeland as Al Rothstein
Allison Paige as Eliza Harmon
Shantel VanSanten as Patty Spivot
Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick
Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne
Marco Grazzini as Joey Monteleone
Katie Cassidy as Black Siren
Violett Beane as Jesse Wells
Casper Crump as Vandal Savage
Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak
Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk
John Wesley Shipp as Henry Allen / Jay Garrick
Grant Gustin as Barry Allen / The Flash
Other hits not found in my break are, Dual Wardrobe Relics, Triple Wardrobe Relics and Printing Plates galore!

UPDATED INFO:I forgot to add this in the first time, but you can also find STR PWR cards. These were first found in Gotham Trading Cards season 2. The STR PWR cards are a new printing technology that Cryptozoic is calling "cast and cure technology" to add eye-catching prism/holographic effects to the cards. From what I see they look spectacular. However, not easy finds and come with a few parallels. Red versions are inserted 1:144 packs while Silver are 1:288 packs. There are even 2 more rarer versions in Gold that are numbered to 25 and Black that are numbered 1/1.

Overall, a pretty solid break in my opinion especially with the nice autograph pull. With a base set, some insert sets, parallels, some surprises and 2 hits it seems well worth the price if you like the show and if you compare it to some sports products that offer less for this price.
Season 2 is a tad higher in price than Season 1. However, singles go for a lot especially in the autograph department so even still if you want to get your hands onto some of these, I suggest a box break vs eBay buying singles.
To see even more images and info on the product, visit Cryptozoic HERE.
