Mission Possible

*takes a sip, sits down and tries not to look outside at the new fallen snow, but instead focus on today's post*

My birthday came and went 8 days ago and this was the first year I had a few surprises for it. First, my buddy Wes sent me an eBay gift card, my wife got an eBay gift card and a carrot cake (don't worry I still stuck to my diet and kept it under control), and my sister-in-law sent me a one-of-a-kind gift I was not expecting.

*takes another sip before continuing on while also thinking back to that carrot cake*

Tim Tebow was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played a couple seasons there struggling on and off before being traded to the Jets where he played one year in the backup role. After that, he failed to make the Patriots and Eagles rosters before trying a baseball career and playing in the NY Mets minor league system for five years before retiring from pro baseball. He didn't give up on the NFL dream yet after his MLB retirement as his college coach Urban Meyer was hired by the Jaguars and he was signed to play the Tight End position instead of quarterback. It didn't work out in the end for either Meyer or Tebow, and he ended up on the sports talk show First Take while Meyer ended up on the news.

Tim may not have been a Hall Of Fame NFL QB, though he did throw a game winning touchdown  pass to win an playoff game that many QB's have not done, but he is a Hall Of Fame person we all should look up to.

His devout Christian faith, willingness to always help others and showing to never give up on your dreams should be a life we all should live. I know I try my best, but I am not even close to his level. I do believe though, that every little bit helps and hopefully those of you reading this today do your part as well big or small.

This is what made me a fan of Tim Tebow and though I have never mentioned it on a blog before, I do collect his cards and add what I can.

One of my biggest wants was an autograph of his to be the centerpiece of my collection and this tidbit of info must have slipped out to my sister-in-law at some point.

Because for my birthday she bought me Tim's latest book that was a signed copy version.

Inside a few pages in was this. So cool!

Definitely a centerpiece for my collection and a book I will actually read.....when I am not on here writing a post or busy with life.

Thanks again to my sis for this awesome gift if you happen to be reading this post today.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

My next plan is to get an autograph card of Tim, however, those don't go for cheap despite his pro career. His college career holds his values along with what he stands for.

Tim, if you happen to be reading this, I just want to thank you as well for standing up for what you believe in, your faith, and for being an inspiration to this blogger.

In comments today, thoughts on this addition, Tim Tebow or anything positive.

The Week In Pictures: Foodworthy!

This weeks pictures are brought to you by the letter F, as in Food yo!

Kicking it off with this early birthday present my wife got me...a pizza oven. Now my birthday isn't until March but when you see a deal and can't hide something this size in the house you just have to give it as an early gift. It's not a huge oven, only 13 inch pizzas, but it does an amazing job and even somebody like me who isn't tech saavy can run it.

Somewhere under the pile of tortilla chips is my salad. The only way I can eat salad is extra cheese, extra meat, and these tortillas or croutons.

My wife surprised me with a delicious breakfast as well this week. Veggie Omelet, homemade white toast and bacon. SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD.

I tried to make a new recipe from a Facebook ad known as Olive Garden Cheesy Chicken Noodles. It turned out okay but was extremely salty from the ingredients. Guess that's how you tell it's from a restaurant ;)

To end the week, I tried a baked "fried" pickle recipe with the coating being Cool Ranch Doritos. Turned out really good. Whoever would have thought Doritos and Pickles?

I hope to have made you hungry this week as I made myself hungry again. Thanks for stopping in and more pictures to come next week!

Happy Birthday To Me! A New Eli!

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me.....happy birthday to me

That's right, today is my birthday and to celebrate I am taking this week off from Sunday's With Rodney to show off my birthday present, a new Eli Manning auto card!

This one is from the 2015 Topps Field Access and my wife got me this for what I consider a steal of a deal at only $25.

This guy is a possible future HOFer, yes I truly believe he belongs there with 2 rings and 2 Super Bowl MVP trophies that he won against the supposed GOAT of the NFL.Not to mention, he still has at least another 3 years in him so who knows if a third will come.

When you can add an auto for that cheap of a future HOFer, I call it a steal and Happy Birthday to me!

Shared Birthdays

March 19th just like any day comes around once a year, however it stands out above other days as it makes me another year older.

Yes, today is my birthday.

I am not sure what's going on today and what hopeful cardboard surprises I find, but I thought it would be fun to share to show a couple of athletes I share my birthday with. I also share my birthday with Glenn Close and Bruce Willis.

Up first is dominant Dodgers Pitcher, Clayton Kershaw who turns 28 today. Who has won 114 games and lost only 56.

Up next, comes a guy from my Giants, Ahmad Bradshaw who turns 30 today. Who has rushed for almost 5,000 yards in his career and closing in on 40 TD's. He is also a Super Bowl winning one as well. Not bad for a guy who was drafted in the 7th round.

And finally, Bills Backup QB EJ Manuel, who turns 26 today. Who has thrown for over 3,000 yards in his career and closing in on 20 passing TD's.

I don't think these are shabby names to share birthdays with.

So who do you guys share your birthday with? Athlete or famous person?
