Let's Talk About Sets Volume 56:On The Ground Attack!

Foil cards always catch my eye and this dual sided foil set had me falling hard for it.

In 1995 Stadium Club falling at a rough 1:18 packs, you could find these Ground Attacks.

Each card features a running back on one side and a quarterback on the other side.

I already had a few of these in hand after pulling a couple in a box break and then making a trade for another. Just from seeing those, it began a set chase.

So once again, I used the power of Burbank Sportcards Beckett Marketplace to see what I can fill in for needs.

I was able to grab 6 pretty affordably.

Here are the fronts

The backs

Final card, the most expensive one of the set features
Edgar Bennett

And the legendary Brett Favre.

I will need to see what remains to this set chase and what Burbank has left for me to grab. Even though these were cheap to begin with, I still like to save money on  Burbank Sportscards Beckett Marketplace by using code 15Burbank at checkout to save 10%. I think you should use it as well.

Can't wait until I can get this set built and show it off when I do.

BURROWed

If you didn't know, I have been chasing the 2020 Donruss Rookie Sweater set from 2020 Donruss Holiday football. The set has 42, yes 42 sweater relic cards in it and I never thought I would be where I am at this point. I am only 11, well 10 now away from completion thanks to the trade today.

I saw that @DustinJacobs23 had a stack sale going on and had number one overall draft pick Joe Burrow's sweater card up for grabs. But, as always, my funding isn't ever available so I dug in and asked about a trade. He obliged. It doesn't always work when I ask that question, but sometimes you just meet the right person.

Not only was the Burrow involved, but we also made a deal for some Giants cards as well.

It was overall a quick and easy trade to land this Burrow for my set.

Thanks again to Dustin for the trade.

I still have Tua, Herbert and Jefferson left as the toughest ones to chase for my set out of the ten left. Hopefully I can find another trader with what I need and be able to finish up this set.

Let's Talk About Sets Volume 55:Finished!

There is so much sad hate on 1995 Fleer products that it makes me love it more than I already had.

Today, meet their rookie insert named NFL Prospects.

The Fleer base product didn't include any rookie cards in it's 400 card set. These were the only way to land a rookie card in the product. It sort of reminds me of Bowman in baseball where they have a prospect set in the product, only difference being that Bowman has rookies in it's base set.

These NFL Prospect cards fall 1:6 packs and feature players that Fleer expected to go high in the 1995 NFL Draft.

For me, it has nothing to do with the players but more to do with the design. This card screams 90's and looks like they could have used these cards in the theme song of Saved By The Bell.

Thanks to Burbank Sportscards Beckett Marketplace  I saved 10% by using code 15Burbank at checkout and was finally able to complete this set after all of these years of chasing.

Giants Cardboard:Dre!

One of the most generous guys on Twitter has to be @kevinspollen. The guy never wants anything in return and instead is always giving. I see him continuing to give on daily basis back to the hobby. It's absolutely incredible and someone we should all look up to.

I mentioned collecting Giants autographs and how I was trying to land one of every Giants player and boom, there was Kevin. Showing up trying to give.

He had this 2014 Prizm autograph of Andre Williams he wanted to contribute and I wasn't turning that away. Andre Williams is one of my biggest autograph collections I have for the Giants and I am pretty sure I don't have the Prizm one.

Big thanks to Kevin for the mail day as always!

MMMB:Dominguez

@DMoose8 was hosting some Stack Sales and as always when I spot something I like, I always inquire about a trade.

Yes I know it's a sales thread. Yes I know some ridicule me for doing it. And Yes, I don't give a hoot what others think because my hobby thrives on trading and it really doesn't hurt to ask. What's the worse that's going to happen? They say no?  Block you? You just move on to the next.

Luckily for me @DMoose8 is a great guy and was more than happy to work out a trade.

I first grabbed a couple of Gleybers

Greg Jones autograph for my Giants collection

My search for more Jasson Dominguez cards gets a lift with this Bowman Chrome insert

And Goodwin Champions blue parallel.

Thanks to @Dmoose8 for being a good guy in the hobby and for trading me these cards. Hope we can do this again in the future.

Let's Talk About Sets Volume 54:Being Grounded

It's been two years since I decided to fully chase the 1995 Summit Ground Zero set but overall it's a set I have been chasing for many years.

I pulled my first Ground Zeros back in 1995. Probably about five total out of packs. Since then I have accumulated about half of the 200 card set with my biggest needs coming today.

The set needs I have added so far are mainly the lower end players, today I tackled a few bigger names.
John Elway

Steve Young

Brett Favre

This is a huge sigh of relief to knock these guys down. Maybe now this once "dream set" can start to become more of a reality.

Thanks to Burbank Sportscards Beckett Marketplace  I saved 10% by using code 15Burbank at checkout and was finally able to add these key pieces. Now to search on there again for more.

Let's Talk About Sets Volume 53:Feel The TD Sensation

When I rip into a pack of 1995 Fleer football, I get the TD Sensation that I am pulling one of these cards out of 1:3 packsssssssssssssssss. I know it's not quite a Klondike bar for some, but I still dig em.

Back in 1995, I completed this small 10 card set but overtime it disappeared.

So after opening up some packs/boxes, I began to rebuild the set and now finished it with help coming from the Burbank Sport Cards Beckett Marketplace website. In which I saved 10% off by using code 15Burbank at checkout. Also free shipping over $50.

All I needed was three cards kicking it off with the Marino
Then the Rice

Finished off with the Emmitt. It's funny Smith finishes up my set because back in 1995 he was the first one I pulled for my set.

Glad to have this one finished up. It really feels good to complete a set big or small. I am happy about finishing up this one. Now to finish a few others I have for 1995 Fleer.

The New 20

After a few months of sitting on my Top 20 MOST WANTED list on here and not moving anywhere with a lot of them, I decided it was time to erase some of them and add some new ones to the list. I am also hoping that some of my favorite people, you my readers, will be able to help me in my chase to land some of these.

Here is the new current list that will be posted on the left side of the blog just before this publishes,

1.2010 Bowman Baseball Russell Wilson
2.2020 Bowman Draft Jasson Dominguez
3.Project 2020 #199 Don C Mariano Rivera
4.Project 2020 #383 Don C Derek Jeter
5.2020 Panini Illusions Morten Anderson (Giants) Autograph
6.1998-1999 Sp Authentic Milan Hejduck RC
7.1988 The Real Ghostbusters Ray Stantz Fright Future&Jail Jaw Ghost
8.1991,1992,1994 Starting Lineups Rodney Hampton
9.1998 Contenders Leather Peyton Manning
10.1991 Darkwing Duck Steelbeak Figure
11.2020 Contenders Javon Leake Autograph
12.2020 Contenders Austin Mack Autograph
13.2004 Topps Chrome Eli Manning
14.2020 Topps Now Inauguration Jennifer Lopez
15.2020 Topps Now Inauguration Lady Gaga
16.2019 Panini Instant Black Cat
17.1998 Contenders Leather Randy Moss
18,2021 Topps Series 1 Derek Jeter Sp (W.S. Trophy)
19.2021 Donruss Unleashed Ken Griffey Jr
20.Frank Gifford Autograph Card

What Left? Other than a few cards I actually accomplished from the list, the Kyle Schwarber rainbow chase is over. I pulled the Superfractor from 2020 Stadium Club Chrome as you guys saw but I have zero luck in landing or finding anything else to pair with it. It's disappointing since it's the second Super I own and first I pulled. But, I may throw it up on the trade block as plenty of Cubs fans may be interested. I would have to be blown away by a trade offer though.

What's New? I added a couple Project 2020 cards to the list and a couple of Topps Now. The Project 2020 cards have a deeper meaning to me then just being Yankees and the Topps Now ones are for my Non Sport PC.T hen there is also that Black Cat card I have wanted for two years.

And there you have it. I always keep this list up when and if I add any off from it.

Player HITlights:Damontre Moore

The Giants have always been built on defense.

So nobody is surprised when they go into the draft and draft defense especially in the trenches.

Sometimes they find that gem in the rough, other times, not so much.

Damontre Moore was a 3rd pick of the Giants in the 2013 NFL Draft. He didn't have much success with the Gmen and caused multiple altercations with teammates especially in the 2015 season which led to him being placed on waivers where the Dolphins snagged him.

He was bounced around a few teams and even joined the AAF league not finding success anywhere he went which is upsetting for a guy who had high expectations as a First Team All-American from Texas A&M.

I grabbed quite a few of his cards, especially autographs, in 2013 with high expectations.

At least when it comes to players on your favorite team, "prospecting" doesn't always have to be a homerun.

As the saying goes, "Once a Giant, Always A Giant"

Moore has accumulated 88 tackles and 10 sacks in his career.

Rodney's Cardboard:1997 Absolute Reflex

So last week we go to an easy but hard to find parallel to a much harder to find insert/parallel in the 1997 Absolute Reflex. These cards fall 1:288 packs and once again the only one I have ever seen listed is the one that is in hand now.

Another not so much surprise was that my buddy Wes found it and sent it along.

Card back.

There is also a Reflex Gold Redemption parallel to this set as well in which none have ever been seen or located that I know of. That could be the case for any player. It would be interesting to see if these ever come out of hiding ever.

Thanks again goes to Wes!

Random Card Of The Day #9:2017 Prizm Blue Wave Wayne Gallman

The Top 4

Yesterday I showed off Part 1 of my mail day trade with Dion's Autograph Collection blog , now onto Part 2 that showcases my top acquisitions from the trade.

Up first, Card 4, an autograph of Chip Gaines. This one is assumingly a TTM or In Person autograph that Dion won in a contest around Christmas time. As soon as I saw him win it, I had to have it. My wife and I used to watch Fixer Upper all of the time.

This isn't quite the Russell Wilson baseball card on my want list I wanted, but it's still a nice one for the collection which is why it falls at number 3.

Number 2 card on the list was this Bowman 1st of Fernando Tatis Jr. He signed a big contract and I added this nice card.

And the Number 1 card on the list is this Eisner. Love the relic and this is a perfect fit for my non sports PC.

Some great additions thanks to Dion. Looking forward to our next trade.

Random Card Of The Day #8:2009 Upper Deck Football Heroes Hakeem Nicks

Giants Cardboard:The Dion Haul

Two collectors trying to get what they want can sometimes make a trade drag on a little longer than hoped, usually my trades with Dion's Autograph Collection blog are faster than Ashlee Simpsons singing career but this time it was more like Jessica Simpsons.

Which I am okay with since I knew we would accomplish it at some point.

Most of today's haul from Dion is NY Giants, but there are some other goodies as well I landed in today's post. I also have another post coming up tomorrow with the top landings from this trade.

Let's see the gallery of goodies from today's haul,

A good mixture of Giants

Eli!

Who is Geremy Davis? Well I don't know but I do know this was a great looking card that is hard to capture on here.

Own The Game insert of Amani Toomer. Love that shine!

Any cards that relate to the Giants Super Bowl win, I will take it. Tynes sent us to two.

Patrick Ewing cards.

A new Christmas card for the Christmas PC

90's autographs and early 2000s autographs I will take any day of any player. Especially those Pro Line autos.

And we end it with another Giants card. I mean today's post is called Giants Cardboard. This marks my first Darnay Holmes autograph. Darnay was one of the top rookie corners last season.

Thanks to Dion for the trade, part 2 coming up tomorrow with some heat!

Giants Cardboard:Twitter Trade

Another day, another Giants Cardboard post. At some point here my plan is to move all of my Giants mail day posts over to Big Blue Cardboard where they should be. For now though, I am simply just working on building up the content on that blog and which direction to head with it.

For now though, enjoy these posts and a trade with a new partner in @richrp21.

Long before Saquon, there was a running back named Tiki. Tiki was a great back for the Gmen and came out in an era of great looking cards. This Generation 2000 was probably my favorite pick up of this trade.

Two new 2020 Prizm cards I didn't have. Hard to own any of the Prizm cards when you couldn't find any. Same goes with Optic.

Darius Slayton base from Illusions

And the final card is this Thunder and Lightning red parallel. I owned the base, the prizm and now I have this one.

Thanks to @richrp21 for the trade mail day. Hope we can do this again.
