Eli's Cardbaord:2016 Score Signal Callers Jumbo Gold

It's been a little while since I have posted the latest Eli Manning card, so I thought I wouldn't drag it out for you guys any longer.

So, here is the latest card add that is very shiny and gold and from Burbank Sportcards Marketplace.

In today's era of collecting, especially when it comes to football cards, there are no odds on pulling cards. The only info I have on today's card is that it's randomly inserted.

I love the eye candy on this one. Lots of shine, gold and tons of Giants blue.

Back Of Card.

Giants Cardboard:2021 Donruss Out Of This World Kadarius Toney

It doesn't happen very often, but it does occasionally.

What am I talking about? Well, a card company that nails an insert design to my liking that isn't from the 90's.

Panini did it this year and I just finally got my hands onto one of the cards.

Out Of This World was an insert that fell randomly into packs of 2021 Donruss football. When I saw that Kadarius Toney was on the checklist, it told me I needed it so I went about going to get one.

But, after many attempts to trade for one, I had to give in and grab one off from Burbank Sportcards Beckett Marketplace when it was listed. Such a fun card and money well spent.

When the light hits the card like I tried to capture, the sun, the space lights up.
Back of the card isn't even that bad. It's the front but less sparkly.

Thoughts on my latest addition welcomed in comments along with what insert do you enjoy from now-a-days times.

Collins Haul

Today as I am watching the snow fall, I am dreaming of football season again. Though I would like to enjoy some summer weather first.

So instead, I will find myself living through football cards by taking a look at my latest Kerry Collins additions from Burbank Sportcards Beckett Marketplace.

When I look at knocking down cards on my player want lists, I always tackle 90's inserts first. The numbered, shinier the better.

This card is simple but bold and attractive.

Rookie Stallions. If you look closely, you will see stallions in the foil etching.

Summit only last two years, but it produced some great parallels and a solid looking base set.

Turf Team was a set I had considered chasing, but think I will just grab a few here and there.

The Rookie Rising Inserts though, I am definitely chasing. Panini brought these back for this year's Zenith and made them case hits.

Burbank didn't have a picture of this card, so I had no idea what to expect, but it's even better than I thought. Pacific knew how to make a die cut card.

Spx in the 90's, nothing better than that except EX2000. One card packs of the Spx made it tough to chase your favorite players and especially the gold parallels.

90's parallels will always rule over any that are put out today. The Stadium Club matrix is one of my favorites. I wished I could have captured it better.

The rivalries card is actually a dual card, on the opposite side is Ken Norton Jr.

I can't find any information on these parallels, but they each feature a colored star on the front of them. For some reason they are called bronze and gold redemption respectively. Maybe they were mail in sets.

And the final part of this mail day.

With these 26 new adds, my Collins collection jumps up to 526 cards. There will probably be more incoming soon from my next Burbank order. If you have any for trade or donate, hit me up via email!

Swatters, Board Members, Dish Men and Sticky Fingers

My latest Burbank Sportcards mail day was full of 90's shiny goodness.

This is only one part of the mail day, tomorrow will be the remaining. I had my eyes on two sets that brought me back to 1996 when I was at the ripe age of 13. Back when I was deeply into collecting football and basketball cards.

I just kick myself every day for not holding onto more of my basketball.

That's where my orders from Burbanks comes into play. I tackle my nostalgia needs that way.

Today, I grabbed a few cheap 1996-1997 Topps Seasons Best inserts which fell 1:8 packs and feature players who have excelled in the five key statistical categories of the game:
  • Points - En Fuego
  • Rebounds - Board Members
  • Steals - Sticky Fingers
  • Assists - Dish Men
  • Blocks - Swat Team
I took a dive into a few of these that they offered on their Beckett Marketplace,
Who doesn't remember ripping packs of this and seeing a shiny card floating in the middle of the pack. It brought that joy as you slowly went through each card anticipating that sweet moment.

And even though I never landed a MJ, I did find a few of these guys in packs.

The prismatic refractor look on these is spectacular. Puts all inserts today to shame.

I hope to add a few more of these down the road and as always, I am up for trades for the ones I don't have. HIT ME UP!

Comments on these below are welcomed!

Eli Is Back!

Eli is back! Well, an update on my Eli Manning collection is. I kind of wished Eli was still playing for the Giants, if Ben Roethlisberger can, Eli could have.

It has been a while, I think 6 months plus, since I posted an update from my Eli Manning PC. I am happy to report I am closing in on 800 different Eli Manning cards and currently sit at 769. I am hoping by the time I post my next update; I will hit the next milestone.

For today, I just want to show off my latest additions thanks to my latest Burbank Sportcards mail day.

When I shop on there, I look for what I consider to be bargains but also pieces I find unique first. Numbered, refractors, etc are always the first grabs. Then if I still have some budget left, I go back and snag the cheap base needs.

Here we go,

This was one of my favorite pickups,

Passing The Torch /400

And then a life lesson about using a light box,

Don't take pictures of acetate cards this way. This is a 2005 Rookies and Stars Slideshow silver /750.

I know more Eli's are on the way and I believe I have some I haven't taken care of yet as well. I will be sure to post when I reach my big milestone.

If you have any Eli Manning cards for trade, hit me up at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Have a great Monday!

Burbank Pickups Of The Month: August 2021 Edition

It's that time of the month, well, not that, but it is for my Burbank Snags of the month!

Sometimes when I am looking on Burbank, I don't search for cards. Sometimes I find them searching for me.

For example, today's mail day. All I did was type in Ex and the search came up with a ton of options which led to these Bright Lights cards that just glared at me. I needed them and I am so happy I grabbed them as they are really cool.

The cards feature a neon yellow/green acetate background with a full colored player in the forefront.

As you can see, the whole card is plastic.

I grabbed these three players as they were the cheapest options to buy on there but I may have to go back and see if they have more.

Please remember, at Burbank Sportcards Beckett Marketplace , you can save 10% by using code 15Burbank at checkout. Shipping is also free on orders of $50 or more. The more you buy, the more you save and the more you won't have to pay shipping on.

Let's Talk About Sets Volume 53:Feel The TD Sensation

When I rip into a pack of 1995 Fleer football, I get the TD Sensation that I am pulling one of these cards out of 1:3 packsssssssssssssssss. I know it's not quite a Klondike bar for some, but I still dig em.

Back in 1995, I completed this small 10 card set but overtime it disappeared.

So after opening up some packs/boxes, I began to rebuild the set and now finished it with help coming from the Burbank Sport Cards Beckett Marketplace website. In which I saved 10% off by using code 15Burbank at checkout. Also free shipping over $50.

All I needed was three cards kicking it off with the Marino
Then the Rice

Finished off with the Emmitt. It's funny Smith finishes up my set because back in 1995 he was the first one I pulled for my set.

Glad to have this one finished up. It really feels good to complete a set big or small. I am happy about finishing up this one. Now to finish a few others I have for 1995 Fleer.

Giants Cardboard:Eli's Incoming

My latest mail day from Burbank Sportcards was full of NY Giants, especially of one guy I have been really focused on grabbing as many cards as I can of.

No this guy isn't a hot prospect or even that respected by a lot of fans, but he bled Giants blue from Day 1 even at the draft when he requested to be traded from the Chargers to the Giants on draft day.

That man, Eli Manning.

I look back on that trade and don't ever regret the Giants decision to give up all that they did. At the time I didn't either. I knew the last name would lead to some hope for a team needing it and boy did it.

A leader on and off the field. let the Giants to two Super Bowl wins. Both games will forever burn in my mind.

With so much love of the Giants and talk that he is coming to join the staff now as well, I came to realize my next player collection was staring at me the whole time.

So as I drive towards 700 Eli Mannings I have been picking up some fun ones along the way.

Like this lime green parallel from Unparalleled.

I hadn't ever seen this one, but I wanted it and needed it. Great looking card.

Father and son

This one as you can see was rough around the edges when I got it in. My OCD immediately wants this one replaced so I haven't counted it towards my collection and will hopefully land another soon.

This is a Living Legends gold numbered to 299. I can't help it, I have a thing with acetate.

With these new adds from Burbank Sportscards Beckett Marketplace (also saved 10% by using code 15Burbank which I suggest you try as well), I am creeping towards 700 Eli Manning cards as of my typing of this which currently pegs me at 666 of him. A number I hope to not keep around too long.

If you have any Eli Manning cards, DM on Twitter or contact me via email at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com to see if I have them and we can work out a trade!

Giants Cardboard: Eli's Gaining Momentum

As the year creeps closer to the end, I have looked back on my collecting habits and how much they have changed all year long.

First it was hot rookies, then non sport cards, then it was Allan Houston, then it was Kerry Collins then it was 90's inserts again, then Patrick Mahomes cards, then Lamar Jackson cards, then Christmas cards, then Russell Wilson cards, then Mosaic cards, then shiny cards and so on and so forth. There was no straight focus and my collecting habits must look like someone with a bad case of ADHD.

Maybe I should rename this blog, ADHD collector.

Regardless how crazy I must look, there has been one constant throughout my collecting and that is the NY Giants. I have never gone off topic with them. I simply collect all that I don't have regardless of how long the player has been on the team. If they made it even one game, I would take them as long as they are wearing Giants blue or have affiliation of so.

But, that doesn't mean some players I don't prefer more than others.

Take Eli Manning for example. I always talk about Rodney Hampton on here... a lot, but deep down inside my favorite NY Giant of all time is Eli. Rodney is a very-very close second or a 1B in this case.

Eli brought out tons of emotions which you can tell a lot by his "Eli Face".

I felt for him being an underdog but that also made me root him on harder being one myself. He won two Super Bowls for my team against the team I despise most. He was a two time Super Bowl MVP. He went to Pro Bowler. He was a leader on and off the field and handled NY media the way you need to. I couldn't have asked to had watched a better player to play the toughest position in football in the toughest city to play football.

I appreciated everything he did for my Giants and can't wait to see him as a first ballot Hall Of Famer. Yeah I said it.

With these 9 new adds from Burbank Sportscards Beckett Marketplace (also saved 10% by using code 15Burbank which I suggest you try as well), I am creeping towards 700 Eli Manning cards. He marks my second highest Giant in total cards and I hope to be gaining more over the next few weeks. Eli has moved up as my second most sought after player right now behind Rodney Hampton.

*****************************************************************************
Before closing I wanted to show off another card I snagged, quite cheaply at $4 by the way and even less using the code, was this Darius Slayton auto.

Slayton is one of the up and coming WR's in this league when the Giants have time to throw to him. I look forward to seeing him more next year.

Who is your favorite player on your team All Time and/or Now? Do you have the same situation as I do with a 1A and a 1B?

Let's Talk About Sets Volume 46:Gold Fingers

Does today's title draw you right in? Does anything get more setsier than a title that says, Gold Fingers? If you clicked on today's post, I would say I have my answer.

Back in 1996, Fleer Metal created an  12-card set made of 24-karat etcheTd gold foil of the NFL's top receivers at the time. These cards fell 1:8 packs.

To say they look good that would be an understatement. I would prefer to use words such as stunning, marvelous, phenomenal, remarkable, and astonishing.

You also have to take a look at the details and design where you can tell creativity was used. How many of you remember a time when creativity was used in the hobby?

I was able to grab these four cards from Burbank Sportcards Beckett Marketplace where I saved 10% on them by using code 15Burbank. You can check them out yourself by clicking THIS LINK HERE:https://marketplace.beckett.com/burbanksportscards_21/

With these latest adds, I have 7 of the 12 for the set. I hope to add the rest soon as they look impressive on 9 page sheets.

That does it for today's Sets Talk.  Hope you had a golden time and remember, there is more sets to come.

Giants Cardboard:Mosaic Adds!

I didn't think I would be one that fell in love with....Mosaic, but I did.

Recently I was scouring Burbank Sportscards Beckett Marketplace (also saved 10% by using code 15Burbank which you should try as well), I found they had a bunch of NY Giants Mosaic versions for sale and found the cheapest ones to grab.

My cart looked very shiny by the time I was done.
Daniel Jones base parallels (I have since dropped the silver and damaged the corner badly. I had to toss it in the junk card pile)

Eli Stare Masters insert. Everyone always enjoys the "Eli Face"and now they can see it more up close.

Eli Adds were on fire. Three base card parallels including a pink

3 Old School inserts with 2 parallels

3 touchdown Masters with 2 parallels (which I think the card looks great even without the parallels)

And here is where I currently stand with my parallels for base for Daniel Jones,

Here are my Eli's,
Funny how both came out with 6. That was unintentional.

Fun pickups for my collection. I don't plan on chasing any rainbows with these with the amount of parallels they have and so many others chasing them as well. I am happy with what I got however.

Let's go Giants and hoping for a win against Baltimore today. It won't be easy for sure.

(PS:if this game changes for any reason or any players are not playing, keep in mind this post was typed up on December 1st as I was trying to get a little bit ahead on here with some drafts)
