If you are a fan of the 80's, yes these are 90's cards but with an 80's feel, you will like these.
This was the inaugural edition of Skybox. If you are a fan such as I am of Skybox, you will want to see it from the beginning. Especially when you want to compare it to the end products that Skybox put out. A huge needed turnaround.
Before I continue on about this product and show you what's inside, just take a gander at the packaging. It has an 80's feel. I feel like this would have been put as a 80's movie title that would have slowly crept it's way towards you on the TV screen. Don't you agree?
In every pack of the inaugural edition of Skybox, came 15 cards.
The cards, well, they were very colorful. To me, these were very hard to look at. Possibly one of the worse designs I habe seen. They look more like an 80's music video than 90's basketball trading cards.
The design of the cards brought you swirls, whirls and twirls in the background and the key player, sometimes with others, in the forefront. The card was also surrounded with a goldish border. It was something that to me did not flow well together.
Overall, this kind of break is just intended for a one-time type of break. If you don't experience all that the hobby has to offer than you never know what you are missing out on. Or in the case of these, it would be what you probably could have missed out on. I am so glad that later in the 90's Skybox figured things out and put out some amazing products cause if they continued to put these out, they may not have made it.
