Box: The box design has premier athletes on the outside of it such as Michael Jordan and Landon Donovan.

Wrapper: Matches the box. Shiny. Kinda Catchy.

Base Cards: Clean. Good photography. Upper Deck has always done a great job with this and with not covering the cards with borders. And this brand covers all sports from Lacrosse to Golf to Football. Some of the base cards also have SP versions to them. We got 5 in our box.

Autographs: The autographs were nice. Some people don't care for sticker graphs, can't say we can complain. However, the only complaint we have is the dullness to the Athletes Of The World autograph. No pic of the person. Not very creative. And we didn't really hit it big with big name autos. Some of whom you can get is Michael Jordan, Cam Newton, and Landon Donovan.

Overall: A very, very unique product covering a ton of sports and over the world athletes as well. We beat the odds and got 4 hits instead of the stated 3. But, don't really know if the value is there. At least for the box we got. Maybe others did better. But still is a nice product and should you have a chance, give it a try if you like to go outside one sport and looking for something new.

ReplyDeleteThoughts: there definitely isn't the "One top-tier name relic per box" standard you see in other boxes. I wonder if that balances out. Also, what kind of Lacrosse swatch is that? I have a strange visage of Upper Deck going through NCAA Locker rooms and snatching Ned Crotty's bag when he's out on the field or something. When it comes to memorabilia, Gotta love the Pros!
Interesting product, but if you are a all sports fan or collector of random memorabilia it looks like the box for you. J Blackburn
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm different then most people I don't mind sticker autos... Autos are autos to me. I would have liked to see some nicer I incerts.. Maybe some with foil but over all looks like a good product.

Nice write up. I don't mind the sticker autos. There is still interest in them throughout the hobby. It's understandable that the card manufacturers can't reach out to all signers and get on-card autographs. The amount of "hits" you received out of this box was a pretty good number. Got to be well worth the price I would assume. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteGreat review. I like the base cards, but I am wary of the lack of inserts. I don't know how much a box is but i probably wouldn't pay more than 45 for it. If you hit a big name autos you did great, otherwise I would feel shafted. I get the feeling this is an attempt at a modern Goodwin Champions... and it didn't do so well.
