If you read Cards Over Coffee, you would have seen that I got a great Christmas gift from blog reader Oren and that he sent along some packs for me to rip open.

Anyways, today's pack is one of those packs we are ripping open to check out.
I'm gonna be honest that I don't know a lot about this product or the singers within. I was just hoping to land one of the gold foil autogaphs.
But, I didn't.
Here is what I did find though,
The last two were the ones I knew from this group. Chubby Checker used to be one of my grandmother's favorites. I always heard her toss his name around.

OK, I guess I'll be the old geezer who tells you to learn your history. Dion and Bo Diddley, especially, are absolutely fantastic and very important in the history of rock and roll. (Also, if you don't know Diddley's commercial with Bo Jackson, go watch it.) Check them out. There's not an artist here I don't like.
ReplyDeleteThe Dovells card kind of cracked me up, because it was obviously a photo from at least 10 years after their last real hit, and there's only two of them when there were 5 when they were big. Did some checking, and that picture is still on their website today! https://www.thedovells.com/biography.html Apparently they've been just a duo since the 80s or so.
