Rodney's Cardboard:2020 Illusions Mirage Base Autograph

Panini threw yet another surprise at me in 2020 by following up their 2019 Panini Illusions Rodney Hampton inclusions with a 2020 inclusion as well.

I am still chasing last years 1/1 from Illusions which feels like it will never be found like other Rodney Hampton 1/1 autographs I am still waiting on.

I did however get a big jump on this years Illusions autographs. There are 6 overall to get and I have already narrowed it to only two more I need which is the /10 and the /1.

I absolutely fell for this design right off as soon as I saw them. Not only is it a fun, yet frustrating chase, at least the cards look nice as well.

This is the base autograph which is /99.

And for the first time I have ever seen.....a real card back on these!!! Holy smokes! This one at least doesn't have a boring back.

This is just one of the four I will be showing off. Hopefully before I get to the others to show off on here I will have a chance to find the last two, it's doubtful but I am hopeful.

Rodney's Cardboard:2020 Mosaic Gold Disco Autograph /10

Today marks another repeat post for some of you, but new to others. Hope you enjoy whether you are seeing it for the first time or the second.

 

This one is very similar to the last gold /10 I posted a couple of weeks ago on here except the design is a tad different.

The card is numbered 8/10 but lacks anything that is eye appealing on the back which has been typical of Panini autographed cards.

This newest Rodney Hampton has me creeping in on 740 different ones out of roughly 900 different cards he has. So closing in on that big number. But, first things first, gotta reach the smaller goal of 750. One thing I have learned as a Super Collector of a player is to set your goals small and appreciate every bit of the journey along the way.

Rodney's Cardboard is back and yes some of you may be seeing this for a second time but I have done that on purpose. I didn't like having my Rodney Hampton collection over on Big Blue Cardboard blog as it wasn't being seen by as many since that blog is so small, I decided to bring it back on here. So this weeks Rodney's Cardboard and next weeks will be the ones I had originally posted on there.

New content for some of you and not for others who follow that blog. Sorry!

Panini threw out a few surprises my way this year when it came to a couple of their football releases by adding in my boy Rodney. One of those two products I have been slowly knocking off with some trading help.

Panini Mosaic proved to be one of the hottest/popular new products out there in multiple sports. However, while many are chasing the top rookies of this years NFL and NBA class and their parallels, my focus went straight to knocking down some Rodney Hamptons.

Now I did miss out on one of the 1/1 parallel of this already, something I continue to kick myself over, I have added a few of the lower numbered ones including today's /10 add thanks to @CardpocalypseNC.

 

This marks my third card out of the eight Mosaic ones Panini released for Rodney. Other than the two 1/1's and the /8, this card is one of the tougher ones I needed to land and glad to have done so.
