Seeking Advice

I announced awhile back that I would be retiring Sport Card Collectors once this blog hit 5,000 posts which after today would mean only 10 posts left. I would then do all of my future blogging over at Cards Over Coffee.

But, some thoughts have come to mind recently and I have been trying to think them over before making a move. Which is why I am hoping for some solid feedback on today's post.

Here are the thoughts I have been having,
Sport Card Collectors has a lot more followers, views and reach than Cards Over Coffee. Though slowly growing, my best content (I have plenty more planned as well) isn't reaching as many as I have hoped at this point. So my thoughts are, why retire a blog with such a big reach when I could possibly move Cards Over Coffee over here instead and get that reach bigger?

Makes sense doesn't it?

Along with that, I will move ALL older posts off from this blog to a new blog as a way of passing the torch. Secondly, I will re-publish all of the posts from Cards Over Coffee on here ONE DAY AT A TIME before creating new content. I figure a lot of you haven't seen this content yet. This would also give me time to update the entire blog while that happens and give me time to work on some card projects.

I must also mention, not all parts of Sport Card Collectors will disappear either. Some classic segments will find their way in the mix with a Cards Over Coffee touch.

Another thing, there may be a name change to reflect all of this. I am working on this as well.

In the end, I only want one blog and that one blog has to do with Cards Over Coffee. So whether it's moving it on here or keeping it separate, there will be one change either way and it will be coming soon.

So readers, what are your thoughts on all of this? I hope to at least get 10 or so comments with thoughts on this.

Kerry's Comes Back

It's has been a long time since I have been able to add any new Collins cards to my PC. Being on such a low budget will do that and force you to choose what's most important.

I think @bmw3679 hears me on that as well. Both of us collected during the best time of collecting in the mid to late 90's and that's where my surprise mail day came from. I already shared the biggest part of this mail day over on Cards Over Coffee which I hope you haven't missed out on. IF YOU MISSED IT, SEE IT HERE:

Pleasantly Surprised

So let's check out the Collins!

1995 Collectors Choice silver rookie

I have always wanted one of these Skybox Premium Closeups

Bowmans Best and Bowmans Best Xfactor. 90's refractors are still better than today's.

1995 Action Packed Instant Impressions, Beautiful Micro Etched card

1995 Fleer Flair preview. Say what you want about the Flair line, but this was the best one of the set designs. The preview was such a tease until the released the actual product. I loved it. Set chasing it as well.

Dr. Evil helped create Topps Lasers, bet you didn't know that.

Upper Deck Predictor

1995 Upper Deck rookie, but it's the Electric Silver parallel.

All of these Collins by the way, it's ALL NEW. I need to update my checklist of Collins to reflect this. Hopefully by the time this posts I will be caught up with that.

Thanks goes out to @bmw3679 for the Collins and hopefully the rest of you checked out the major rainbow chasing card he sent me once again, here:

The Fun Norm

We here all the time the phrase, The New Norm, and that always sounds so negative because it actually is. The New Norm of having to wear masks, bleach yourself when you get home, and avoiding people including your family members at all costs. What part of that sounds like fun?

I would rather have the The Fun Norm. The fun Norm is a guy on Twitter @NormC61 who has sent me a few packages this year "just because". Every time he sends one it's a new surprise of not knowing what's coming.

Like this one I received last Saturday. I couldn't wait to see what he sent this time.

Inside was a small stack of Knicks and NY Giants cards. I have chosen a few to show off today that caught my eye.

Good ole John Starks right here!

Anthony Mason throwing the fire ball.

Pippen getting shoved out of the way by a drive by Hubert Davis

Great one here with Oakley slamming it home over MJ while Pippen watches. Bulls and Knicks in the 90's were hated rivals.

Charles Oakley doing his best boxing out

Ewwwwwwing with the slam!

And my favorite base was this MJ flying high but Patrick with the ball. Great photography here.

And finally, a good handful of NYG archives cards including guys like Conerly and Gifford.

A big thanks to Norm for another great mail day. I appreciate it like all of the other mail days you send my way.

Side note, today was the first time I did a post using the new blogger. I am not a fan at all. I am not sure I will stick with blogger much longer if this is what I have to deal with. It took forever to upload posts, the labels took years to select, and the picture re-sizing is not as simple as it used to be. I will be going back to legacy again for future posts until it's gone.

Lewis and Robert

It had been a long time since @Brent3323 and I did a trade, so we thought we would make up for lost time with this one.

I always keep an eye on what Brent posts for sale just in case it's something I want to try and trade for. Recently he broke a box of 2020 Diamond Kings and had two cards that caught my attention immediately so I inquired. Fortunately, we got a deal done pretty fast as Brent is amazing to work with on trading.

Not only did I trade for those, but some new Saquons I needed for my PC as well.

Gridiron Kings. Always wanted this one.

Playoff Goal Line parallel

Playoff Bowl Ticket parallel /99

Donruss Rated Rookie

 Unparalled relic

Then Brent tossed in a huge other stack of Giants that included these,
Evan Engram Phoenix rookie

Crown Royale rookie

A bunch of 2020 rookie cards I need.

And then the two cards that caught my eye from his Diamond Kings break
Purple border Robert (he tossed in the base one) I don't have much for Luis. These help

And then the main card in the trade, Kyle Lewis auto. This replaces the Bowman's Best one I had I shouldn't have traded this summer. I like when I am able to do that kind of move. I probably won't be able to do that with the Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard Prizm rookies I had and want back.

Thanks again to Brent for another excellent trade. As always I appreciate you as a friend, trader and for your generosity.

Gleyber It Up!

Gleyber it up...gleyber it the east the east coast...we finally got a piece of new Gleyb

My latest trade out of the blue came with via @JohnHollod. He saw my hanger box break of 2020 Topps Chrome over at Cards Over Coffee and wanted a couple of the cards. So we quickly got a deal together and that was that.

I had a tough decision though with many new Judges, a slick Pettitte Matrix parallel to or new Gleyber. This time I went with some Gleyber.

Topps Finest refractor

Prizm White Wave refractor

And for free, he tossed in this Judge holiday.

Need to update both PC players numbers when I find time to do so.

Thanks to John for the trade and hopefully we can do it again soon!

My First Pettitte Auto

A little while ago, @BlowoutBuzz had tweeted out an Andy Pettite auto that was up for grabs in a contest he was hosting. He tried to give it away once but the winner never claimed. Never claimed!!

On and off, I have been adding a few Yankees autos to my PC of players I enjoyed watching in the 90's growing up and apart of their dominating teams. Andy Pettitte was on that list of players I still needed so I entered to win.

I can't remember how long the contest went for, but boom, guess who won. You got it, this guy!

Not only does it knock an autograph need down, but what a beauty in general. Great looking card by Topps. I wouldn't mind more of these.
Glad to have this five time World Series champs auto in the collection finally. A couple of other guys I am lacking still is Tino Martinez and Mo Rivera to complete what I am trying to do. It won't be easy to land Mo.
Thanks to @blowoutbuzz for the contest!

More Cards From Cards On Cards

Becoming older has made me forget a lot of things. Not so much where I placed my car keys but more like where did I stick that card? What cards did I just trade for? Didn't I claim that or was that it? How come Cards On Cards sent me another package when I thought I got everything I claimed from his weekly freebies?

Well, thing was, I hadn't. And none of that clicked in until I opened up the package he had sent me.

Oh yes, Grayson Allen. My first card of the once Duke player.

Gremlins 2 pack that surprisingly nobody else looked at. I will store this in my unopened packs PC.

Will Clark 90's parallel from Score baseball

Madonna. Enough said for my non sports PC.

Nancy Lieberman. Hall Of Famer, coach, and broadcaster. I found this to be a unique add.

Coby White. Only my second card of the Bulls stud

Ed O'Bannon isn't a household name but for me it's all about the 90's and 90's parallels so that's why he came home to me.

Not much to say here. A Griffey popped up and I needed it.

Same goes for this Mike Trout Gold parallel from Big League.

Then we end it with a biggie. Well, for me. a 1990-1991 NBA Hoops set. Just felt like I needed it. Usually I am not a big early 90's set person but this one has a couple of MJ's I didn't have for my PC and that Menendez brothers card I wanted an upgrade for since mine is damaged.

Thanks to Cards On Cards again for this mail day and for running those freebie Fridays. Hopefully soon I can send you something to make up for all of my claims. Just gotta get to digging! My current sorting project should help with that.

Lance Thomas Likes Pancakes

Once again, some flapjackery has arrived.

Another surprise RAK from the king, Wes aka The Pancake King has sent me yet another one.

This time it fits multiple PC's with Knicks, die cuts, crazy cool looking cards kinda thing.

This is a die cut auto /49 of Lance Thomas

Crazy cool die cut. I think it's more defined by the back of the card.

Once again thanks goes out to Wes for being awesome once again. I am building a send back!
