UD Celebrity Predictors

Once again, my Twitter buddy @NormC61 sent me some surprises.

This round included 2010 Upper Deck Celebrity Predictors. I am chasing the set so these will help me get closer to my goal.

I thought these were a lot of fun back then and even so more now as most of these predictors didn't last long.

Thoughts on my mail day and what Celebrity Predictor combos you would come up with for today's times welcomed in comments.

25 Days Of Cardmas Day 10:Go Yelich On The Mountains

I have already mentioned my pure passion for the 2019 Topps Holiday cards, especially it's Sp's, today I will show off the start of my Yelich rainbow cane thanks to @Jake1725, @CardboardSushi, and @NormC61.

The first variation I landed was the Yelich Candy Cane bat. Which to me is the coolest variation of the three I own.
The next one features a Brewers Ornament

While the final, which you can't see that well, is the metallic parallel.

Seeing these reminds me of the ornaments my parents used to put on our tree. Most were the homemade ones I did at school while a couple others were team oriented with my Dad with the Giants and my mom with her Cowboys ones. Which once again always made for a fun football season with those two at each others throats for those game matchups.

They also used to decorate the tree with plain candy canes like the one that Yelich is using as a bat. We didn't do the fancy flavored ones you see a lot of today.

I am not sure how they decorate their tree now.

Do you decorate yours with any team attire?

I Got Mail!

Hey guys! It's been so long but I finally have a mail day post to share! Can you believe it? After days and days of set need posts, we have a mail day post. This is the part where you use that GIF from Titanic where it says it's been 84 years.

My Twitter buddy @NormC61surprised me again with a good handful of Knicks love. Most from the era where it mattered most as a Knicks fan and not the sad state of the franchise today. Though I do like RJ Barrett quite a bit and have been PCing him since the draft.

Here is that healthy stack of Knicks. Can't show em all, but I will focus in on a few spots.

John Starks for threeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

 Charles the rebounding GOAT Oakley

Larry Johnson who played a big role in the Knicks good runs

Anthony Mason. Card really stands out

I was Ewing'ed. I just wished he could have won a title with the team. Other than Allan Houston and John Starks, Ewing is in that three-way tie for favorite Knick all-time. I hope to land an autograph of his someday.

Another Ewing and what appears to be MJ getting nailed in his...well.. you decide.

The two Knicks on here didn't do much with their careers, but Walker did. And I simply love this card for the nostalgia factor it has for me.

I am also addicted to Fleer Metal from the 90's and Norm has been sending me all he can find.
A sweet stack of base here

MLPD subset

Neophytes insert

And rookies called Building Blocks. These sure are sharp!

Thanks again to Norm for the mail day and covering more of my PC and giving me something else to write about that isn't a set need post.

The Fun Norm

We here all the time the phrase, The New Norm, and that always sounds so negative because it actually is. The New Norm of having to wear masks, bleach yourself when you get home, and avoiding people including your family members at all costs. What part of that sounds like fun?

I would rather have the The Fun Norm. The fun Norm is a guy on Twitter @NormC61 who has sent me a few packages this year "just because". Every time he sends one it's a new surprise of not knowing what's coming.

Like this one I received last Saturday. I couldn't wait to see what he sent this time.

Inside was a small stack of Knicks and NY Giants cards. I have chosen a few to show off today that caught my eye.

Good ole John Starks right here!

Anthony Mason throwing the fire ball.

Pippen getting shoved out of the way by a drive by Hubert Davis

Great one here with Oakley slamming it home over MJ while Pippen watches. Bulls and Knicks in the 90's were hated rivals.

Rueben!

Charles Oakley doing his best boxing out

Ewwwwwwing with the slam!

And my favorite base was this MJ flying high but Patrick with the ball. Great photography here.

And finally, a good handful of NYG archives cards including guys like Conerly and Gifford.

A big thanks to Norm for another great mail day. I appreciate it like all of the other mail days you send my way.

Side note, today was the first time I did a post using the new blogger. I am not a fan at all. I am not sure I will stick with blogger much longer if this is what I have to deal with. It took forever to upload posts, the labels took years to select, and the picture re-sizing is not as simple as it used to be. I will be going back to legacy again for future posts until it's gone.
