Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Spectra Neon Pink Autograph /15

It's time for another new Rodney!

Once again, we are taking a look at another Spectra add.

Today's is Pink, Neon Pink. Probably one I should have saved for showing off in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but I will show it off a few months early.

The front is a wavy pink color.

These parallels are numbered to 15.

Here is the overall look at what I am seeking and what I have,

Signatures Gold   1
Signatures Nebula   2
Signatures Neon Marble  4
Signatures Psychedelic  5
Signatures Neon Splatter   8
Signatures Neon Orange   10
Signatures Neon Pink   15
Signatures Meta   25
Signatures Neon Green   35
Signatures Neon Blue   50
Signatures Hyper   60
Signatures Celestial 75
Signatures    199

Quite a few knocked off so far, but still have a road to travel with this chase with so many low numbered ones.

Let me know your thoughts on my chase so far in comments today. Have a great day!

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Spectra Neon Green Autograph /35

Yesterdays design was really lame, but this is probably my favorite one so far.

I know it's not team match and probably is closer to an Eagles one, but it looks really nice especially in-person.

This is the Neon Green parallel. It has like a scope parallel look to it. The combination of the green and the blue swirl to me brings this card to the front of all of the others.

These parallels are numbered to 35.

Here is the overall look at what I am seeking. I do have five of the chase so far in hand and will cross them off as I go.

Signatures Gold   1
Signatures Nebula   2
Signatures Neon Marble  4
Signatures Psychedelic  5
Signatures Neon Splatter   8
Signatures Neon Orange   10

Well, more Rodney's to come! I wonder if there will be any new ones to chase in 2024 or if this will be the end of the Rodneys. Time can only tell what Fanatics has planned.

Thoughts on today's card welcomed in comments!

Single Card Mail Day:2023 Panini Obsidian Lightning Strike Autograph Isaiah Hodgins

It's easy to get caught up in the now when it comes to NFL cards.

Of course, you want the top rookies and players. Of course, you want the newest and hottest rookies for your team. Of course, you want this and that but when the dust settles and you can find a nice team PC card for well under $5, you grab it.

$3 for this Isaiah Hodgins was a bargain for a player who has great skills but plays for a team that lacks in offense. This marks my second autograph of his in a NY Giants uniform and my fifth overall autograph of him.

I am hoping with a revamped offensive line, a healthy Daniel Jones, and maybe some play calling by Daboll himself, that Hodgins will have the same impact he did in his first year as a Giant.

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Spectra Hyper Autograph /60

In Panini's attempt to sticker dump, the effort on some of the parallels from this Rodney chase are pretty lame.

Take today's for example, if you compare this to the base,

The only difference is the lines in the background. LINES. If you are going to go out Panini and lose the license, at least go out with a bang.

is numbered to 50. But, for once, these cards feature a small writeup about the player and doesn't have the usual boring backing.

Here is the overall look at what I am seeking. I do have five of the chase so far in hand and will cross them off as I post them the next few weeks.

Stay tuned for more from the Spectra chase.

Now I want your thoughts on the lack of effort in this parallel in comments today!

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Spectra Base Autograph /199

My last few Rodney chases started with the parallels before the base. This didn't change when I started hunting down the Spectra cards.

The base just has a regular refractor shine.

The back is numbered to 199.

Here is the overall look at what I am seeking. I do have five of the chase so far in hand and will cross them off as I post them the next few days.

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Spectra Celestrial Autograph /75

This Sunday we continue to roll on with the newest Rodneys from Spectra.

Sometimes I think Panini makes up parallel names, like what is a celestrial parallel?

To me, it's like a pink.

These are numbered to 75..

Here is the overall look at what I am seeking. I do have five of the chase so far in hand and will cross them off as I post them the next few weeks.

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Spectra Neon Blue Autograph /50

With so many Rodney's released in 2023, I am having to shift gears all over when it comes to posting these.

I am as surprised as you are with all of these new Rodney's.

With Spectra being a $1K per box product, I am not sure how many Rodney's I will be finding from this chase. There is a whopping 13 to chase. THIRTEEN. Many of which are low numbered.

Today, I am kicking it off with one that falls in the middle, sort of.

The Team color matched Neon Blue

is numbered to 50. But, for once, these cards feature a small writeup about the player and doesn't have the usual boring backing.

Here is the overall look at what I am seeking. I do have five of the chase so far in hand and will cross them off as I post them the next few weeks.

Signatures Gold   1

Signatures Hyper   60
Signatures Celestial 75
Signatures    199

There are four more to post about in this chase that I have.

I have other thoughts on this chase to. First off, who can afford a 1K box and two, can you imagine breaking a box and ending up with a Rodney Hampton as one of your big hits....OUCH. Doesn't seem like the kind of product you add a player like this in.

Now I want your thoughts on that in comments!

Rodney's Cardboard:1995 Collectors Edge Excalibur Sword And Stone Diamond Parallel

We are still rolling in the Rodney's, and I still have more to show.

I am really lost with this year of Collectors Edge sets. There are so many parallels, so many inserts and they all sound and sometimes look the same. The easiest way for me to do these, is just look up to make sure I don't have it. That's my only tell-tale.
I do know though, that the diamond parallel is the hardest one to chase in the series. I have one for the base and now have one for assumingly is an insert.

Card back.

I do have a few parallels of this chase for Rodney and at some point I will round them all up and show them off.

Thanks again to Wes for sending this one along.

Comments are always welcomed below!

Rodney's Cardboard:1992 Wild Card 10-Stripe

Being someone who didn't really get deep into collecting until 1995, my knowledge of products before that year are a little weak.

So, when I saw all of these "stripe" parallels all over my Rodney checklist it took some time to adjust to figuring out all of them.

But, after some research and some of the answers right on the card front, I think I have it all figured out.

I know these were randomly inserted and the higher the stripe number, the tougher to find. I also see from the card front which levels and foil colors each one is. I had never noticed that before.

Nothing changed too much on each of the backs, it's the fronts that matter.

I am 100 and 20 stripe away from the complete rainbow.

I managed to find this one for under $2, I will take those deals all day long.

Thoughts on comments on this chase and if you have made a similar one welcomed in comments.

Rodney's Cardboard:1997 New Pinnacle Black Printing Plate

Today's card is my favorite Printing Plate in my Rodney Hampton collection.

Not because of the front,

But, because of the back. It is signed by Jerry Meyer Chairman of Pinnacle. This is the only time that I know of that printing plate was actually fully guaranteed like this. These are also very scarce to hunt down and Rodney makes only the second one in my collection. The other one is a card back of Yatil Green.

I can't imagine how many of these things that Meyer had to sign.

Thanks again to Wes for grabbing this one for me as well.

Comments on whether you own any of these plates welcomed in comments.

Rodney's Cardboard:1997 Stadium Club Yellow Printing Plate

Well, now that I am past all of the hard to talk about Rodney Printing plates, I am moving onto two weeks of ones I can have a small discussion about.

Today's printing plate is actually recognized as one. This is from the 1997 Stadium Club set and features Rodney shoving Ray Lewis to the ground. I guarantee this is not something you saw very often when Lewis was on the field.

The back of the plate lets us know which one it is. I still have three others to chase. Who knows if they will ever show up.

Thanks again to Wes for this latest add. Quite a nice surprise for the collection.

Comments are always welcomed on these latest adds!

Rodney's Cardboard:1996 Collectors Edge Advantage Printing Plates (3 of them)

(there isn't a lot to say about these plates as I have many to post. They are 1/1's, they are legit as you can tell the use from the backing which is completely silver, they all came from one seller, and they all came to me via Wes who blogged for Area 40 blog. Thanks Wes!)

(side note, this is one front and two different back colors for this run. I am not sure if I have others as well. I will update when I check them)

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Panini Absolute Historic Duals Red Ottis Anderson/Rodney Hampton Autograph /75

Today marks the final run on the 2023 Absolute Historic Duals that I have so far. It's not too many and most of my focus has been on the bigger numbered cards as those fell cheaper.

Other than the 1/1, the /10 and the /25 have popped up once and both left my grasp. Hopefully they will re-appear. I have yet to see the Purple /5.

But, let's take a look at a card I have seen and own today :)

This card is the Red version which is numbered to 75. I guess you can consider this a team color parallel as well.

Back of the card is the usual Panini backing.

Here is the overall look at the chase so far.

Historical Duals Black 1
Historical Duals Purple 5
Historical Duals Gold 10
Historical Duals Green 25
Historical Duals Blue 35
Historical Duals Orange 50
Historical Duals Red 75
Historical Duals 199

As I said above, had to focus on the easier ones first.

Stay tuned for new Rodney posts to come!

As bright as the sun, today's Rodney Hampton is shining through!

This was the first card in the run I acquired for my chase.

The card is the Orange version which is numbered to 50.

Back of the card is the usual Panini backing.

Here is the overall look at the chase so far.

Historical Duals Purple 5
Historical Duals Gold 10
Historical Duals Green 25
Historical Duals Blue 35

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Panini Absolute Historic Duals Ottis Anderson/Rodney Hampton Autograph /35

Today's Rodney Hampton is probably going to be my favorite of the chase, especially since the 1/1 is gone. It's a blue parallel which is team color match especially with their players jerseys on the card being blue as well.

The blue version is numbered to 35.

Back of the card is the usual Panini backing.

Here is the overall look at the chase. The 1/1 had already popped up and I missed it. But at least I can just chase what I can and hopefully someday the 1/1 will come back.

Historical Duals Black 1
Historical Duals Purple 5
Historical Duals Gold 10
Historical Duals Green 25
Historical Duals Blue 35
Historical Duals Orange 50
Historical Duals Red 75
Historical Duals 199

Stay tuned for a couple more of these!

Single Card Mail Day:2018 Panini XR Mirrored Red /35 Eli Manning/Kyle Lauletta

You are looking at Eli Manning card #1036.

The chase is continuing as I try to get to get to 1100 different and hopefully someday past 1400 so I can become the leader on TCDB. Of course, I don't think the Eli collector on there has updated anything in a long time so he may have even more by now.

I would probably be closer if I counted my duplicates, but I trade those away instead for new ones. None of my collections on TCDB have dupes and I am not sure if the leader for Eli has counted his dupes to towards his 1400.

If any of you have Eli Mannings collecting dust, hit me up! My email is sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Single Card Mail Day:2017 UD Goodwin Champions Wonders Of The Universe Neptune

Last Christmas, no I am not singing the song, former blogger Wes sent me a 2017 Goodwin Champions Wonders Of The Universe Suns surface and I fell in love with this insert.

So I had to grab another and maybe more down the line.

This Neptune one was next to nothing, so it was an easy addition. The cards feature a 3D lenticular look to all of the worlds wonders. It's an insert like no other and not something I have seen like this since 1995 Sportflix Man2Man insert.

If any of you have any that are avaiable for PWE trade, please let me know! Drop an email to sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com. Would love to chase down as many as I can.

Single Card Mail Day:2023 Bowman Spencer Jones

With my financial situation, I have not been able to open up a lot of cards the last few years. Which has led to so many gaps in my collection I am not sure I will ever be able to fill them all.

One of those glaring gaps was a Spencer Jones Bowman 1st and Bowman Chrome 1st for my Yankee and rookie card PC.

So, I had to get at least one.

And ended up with a Bowman 1st.

At some point I will have to make a list of other Bowman 1sts I want for my collection to go along with the Spencer Jones Bowman Chrome 1st I still need.

If you have one for trade or collecting dust, hit me up. Always up for a PWE trade. My email is sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Panini Absolute Historic Duals Ottis Anderson/Rodney Hampton Autograph /199

One of the bigger surprises to my Rodney Hampton chase this football card season was not only his inclusion in Absolute, but his inclusion in Absolute with another NY Giants running back legend.

That running back, Ottis Anderson.

The problem with adding Anderson to this card is the prices of these Rodney's have gone haywire because of him. Meaning, these cost more than they should.

But I have landed a few from the chase so far.
I am kicking it off with the base version which is numbered to 199.

Back of the card is the usual Panini backing.

Here is the overall look at the chase. The 1/1 had already popped up and I missed it. But, at least I can just chase what I can and hopefully someday the 1/1 will come back.

Historical Duals Black 1
Historical Duals Purple 5
Historical Duals Gold 10
Historical Duals Green 25
Historical Duals Blue 35
Historical Duals Orange 50
Historical Duals Red 75
Historical Duals 199

Stay tuned as I have more of these to show off!

Single Card Mail Day:2023 Bowman Chrome University Malik Nabers

Going off from where I left off yesterday, the Giants with the sixth pick in the NFL Draft landed Malik Nabers. One of the best wide receivers in the draft.

Missing out on a QB in Maye, let the Giants to landing another weapon in Nabers and now the Giants have one of the fastest receiver cores in the NFL and leads to no more excuses for Daniel Jones. The Giants fixed the oline, added more weapons and leaves Jones with the best put together offense on paper that he has had.

Nabers is so good, he has been compared to Odell if not better than Odell which is a bar that is quite high and puts a lot of pressure on him for his rookie season.

I sure hope he pans out and doesn't get injured like Odell did. The Giants have a quietly decent team and I am looking forward to this season.

Single Card Mail Day:2023 Bowman Chrome University Drake Maye

As the draft approaches, I always find myself trying to figure out who the Giants may draft and make sure I have at least one card of them before the draft. You know, that NY market blows prices up.

One of the for-sure names on the Giants list and sounded like would be their pick was Drake Maye, the QB from North Carolina.

But, in order to land him, they would have to move up in the draft and it sounded like the Patriots would be willing to help. Except on Draft Night. They didn't allow the G-Men to move up in the draft and they ended up taking Maye.

Have I mentioned how much I don't like the Patriots yet on here???! Now another thing to add to my list.

Instead the Giants went on to draft a card I will show off tomorrow.

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Certified Bronze Autograph /99

Today is the final run on the 2023 Certified Rodney Hamptons. Then I will have to change things up a bit. I have actually plenty to choose from for once.

Today's final one from this chase is a Bronze parallel. These are numbered to 99. You don't see a lot of bronze parallels to autograph cards or that I have seen anyways in my chases.

Card back looks the same as the rest in the series. I know you are sick of seeing and reading this part by now.

Here is an overall look at the chase in 2023 Certified for Rodney,
Base /199Bronze /99Pink /75, Orange /50Red /35Blue /30Teal /25, Gold /15, Purple /10, Green /5, and Black 1/1.

Here are the cards I have posted so far from this run which is everything except the 1/1.

Onto other greener grounds for Rodney next week. Hope to see you back!
