Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Spectra Celestrial Autograph /75

This Sunday we continue to roll on with the newest Rodneys from Spectra.

Sometimes I think Panini makes up parallel names, like what is a celestrial parallel?

To me, it's like a pink.

These are numbered to 75..

Here is the overall look at what I am seeking. I do have five of the chase so far in hand and will cross them off as I post them the next few weeks.

Signatures Gold   1
Signatures Nebula   2

There are three more to post about in this chase that I have.

Now I want your thoughts on that in comments!

Not A Hockey Card Collector, But....

Normally, when you think of hockey card collectors, you don't think of me.

But there are moments I have where I break down and buy some hockey and there is usually a good reasonable explanation behind it.

So when I saw the latest Metal Universe product release, I had to try some. Despite my wife giving me "the look" when I stuck a box of hockey cards at the register.

You know the one.

I still stuck with it despite it and opened up the $30 blaster box that came with 5 packs of 7 cards.

Nostalgia still is the driving force of my hobby.

The base card design is the typical metal look and I like that Upper Deck stuck with the basics.

Each pack that I opened came with a Blue Spectrum parallel. These typically fall 1:2 packs.

I am not complaining about getting one in every pack though. I really like the look of these.
I
When it comes to the nostalgia I mentioned above, It was brought with the 1:4 pack finds of the 1997-98 throwback inserts.

Amped Up insert falls 1:10 packs.

Skybox Premium Prospects fall 1:4 packs. I have no idea if this is a good player or not.

I also pulled the Sapphire Parallel that falls 1:6 packs (once again not sure how good this player is).

And my final cool card of the box was Big Man On Ice. This was actually my first insert pull of the box and falls 1:8 packs. As a by-far-distant NY Rangers fan, I know this name.

There wasn't a lot of value in the break, but it certainly was a lot of fun and I would love to do it again if I can find the funds and try to avoid getting the look again.

Thoughts on my break welcomed in comments.

Rodney's Cardboard:2020 Select Blue Parallel /99

Rodney's Cardboard is back and so am I on this blog. After taking more than a month off from posting on here, I feel refreshed and ready to bring some new energy into this blog starting today.

What this means for my other two blogs especially Cards Over Coffee, well, for now they will be put on hiatus.

To put fuel to the fire for this blog, I have accomplished some great things for my Rodney Hampton collecting including a couple of finished rainbows and a deep 2020 Select chase I will be starting to share first.

This Select chase starts off today with the Blue Prizm parallel. Which sounds weird having to call a non Prizm product a Prizm. I wished I could just call it a blue refractor. I refer to these as just plain (insert color) parallels.

The blue parallel I am showing off today looks more outstanding in person. Blue is my favorite color and this card also matches Giants team colors which makes it possibly my favorite in the set.

The blues are numbered to 99.

Here is the complete chase below. With each card I reveal, I will be crossing it off on this list. You can find my complete haves and needs HERE. (if you want to blow the fun )
57 Signatures Black Prizm 1/1
57 Signatures Black Prizm Die-Cut 1/1
57 Signatures Green Prizm /5
57 Signatures Green Prizm Die-Cut /5
57 Signatures Gold Prizm /10
57 Signatures Gold Prizm Die-Cut /10
57 Signatures Tie-Dye Prizm /25
57 Signatures Tie-Dye Prizm Die-Cut /25
57 Signatures White Prizm /35
57 Signatures Light Blue Prizm /50
57 Signatures Maroon Prizm /75
57 Signatures Blue Prizm /99
57 Signatures Prizm /199

It looks like I have a long ways to go, but I promise, this list will narrow down as these posts come along each and every Sunday from today on.

I am sure by now you are excited to see some new content on here again, but may be wondering what will happen to the Summer Of Wes posts, don't fret, I won't leave you hanging. I am sure you all must be wondering what the Top 10 will be and which card or possibly cards will be number 1. Those posts will be dual posts somedays and fillers on others as I ease myself back onto here with new and better content.

I hope everyone has an amazing Sunday and thanks for reading,
Matt

RJ's Cardboard:2019-2020 Prizm Draft Blue Prizm

Shiny, Duke blue and an upcoming star all sums up this card.

It amazes me the huge difference in both value and price when it comes to Prizm Draft vs Prizm. You can land cards of top players in Prizm Draft for next to nothing in comparison to Prizm.

You would think with as popular as college sports are that they would be a driving value but it's really about the pro uniforms.

That's okay as I can land cards like this easier and thanks to @CardPocalaypseNC for helping me do so.

Rodney's Cardboard:2019 Panini Legacy Base Blue Parallel

My Panini Legacy Rodney Hamptons, except 1/1's that have yet to pop up, are officially in hand now thanks to the latest mailing from @CardpocalypseNC which included the one more final piece.

I will begin to show off what I have for each section, base/chrome/autographed over the next few weeks for Rodney's Cardboard so make sure you are sitting when they get posted. Too much greatness to show.

For now, I will show off which card Tim sent to help fill in the final gap.

These blue parallels fell randomly in packs and are numbered to 50. I am not even sure if I have seen another one pop up after this one got posted.

Card backs are the same.

I see that Panini is bringing back Legacy again for 2020 so I am curious if Rodney will be on that checklist or any checklist for 2020. The last two years I have had at least one product of Rodney's to chase and think I will need something to interest me in 2020 football cards. The Giants are most likely drafting a defensive player or offensive lineman which doesn't translate to excitement for me so my focus will be on collecting other rookies from the class but once I have gotten a few, the excitement will fade back to 2018 and 2019 stuff.

Thanks again for the trade Tim and snagging this Hampton piece for me. Appreciate it!

I hope everyone has a great Sunday and stay tuned for the next few Sunday's for more Rodney awesomeness!
