Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Panini Absolute Historic Duals Ottis Anderson/Rodney Hampton Autograph /199

One of the bigger surprises to my Rodney Hampton chase this football card season was not only his inclusion in Absolute, but his inclusion in Absolute with another NY Giants running back legend.

That running back, Ottis Anderson.

The problem with adding Anderson to this card is the prices of these Rodney's have gone haywire because of him. Meaning, these cost more than they should.

But I have landed a few from the chase so far.
I am kicking it off with the base version which is numbered to 199.

Back of the card is the usual Panini backing.

Here is the overall look at the chase. The 1/1 had already popped up and I missed it. But, at least I can just chase what I can and hopefully someday the 1/1 will come back.

Historical Duals Black 1
Historical Duals Purple 5
Historical Duals Gold 10
Historical Duals Green 25
Historical Duals Blue 35
Historical Duals Orange 50
Historical Duals Red 75
Historical Duals 199

Stay tuned as I have more of these to show off!

My First Of 2017

Recently I was in another break by Top Shelf Breaks and this time I wanted to feel a tad Majestic so I got a couple of spots in their 2017 Majestic football break.

The bad part was, I missed the break video with all of my recent ER visits and wasn't sure if I had landed anything in the break. However, a few days later this beauty arrived...my very first Evan Engram autograph. Oh, and Chad Kelly is on here to.

If you don't know that name, he was the NY Giants 1st round draft pick and an autograph I have sought after. The guy has been an absolute beast during OTA's.

This is by far my best hit from Top Shelf Breaks. I just can't wait to see what I can get next!

If you wanna pull some hits like I did or even bigger "monsters" as they have pulled plenty, check out Top Shelf Breaks, HERE. You can also follow them on Twitter for break updates and for giveaways. Good people who look out for collectors and trying to make breaking affordable and fun.

$3 Co-Signer Pickup

My search for hard-to-pull and I couldn't afford at the time insert/autograph pulls from the 90's chase continued. This time my search led me for a 1997 Topps Stadium Club Co-Signer card that I believe was the first dual signed card.

These front/back signed autographed cards fell at a rate of 1:70 packs in 1997. That was a year where I ripped through a few boxes of the product and never hit one. Though back then that wasn't my reasoning for opening it as Stadium Club had a superb base card design and some nice inserts that year. I will show one of those in an upcoming 90's Flashback post. In the meantime, I will show you my newest pickup.

Upon searching Co-Signers on eBay, which by the way are not cheap, I stumbled upon one on sale for $3. Not to mention FREE SHIPPING. How could I not pick it up? And it wasn't like I didn't know at least one of the players on the card. I actually saw a lot of him in the 90's in my packs.

So here it is, $3 and glorious! Love the rainbow foil and wished they had done it front and back but it is still an impressive looking card.

Glad to have crossed this one off my want list. Now onto the next part of my 90's card journey. Where that will lead me, only time AND money can tell.

DACardworld Christmas Break The Final One: Panini Black Football 2012

So for Christmas every year, I am allowed to give a list of what cards I want for Christmas. Out of that list a couple boxes would be chosen. I will break those down over the next few days to show you how we did..

The final box was a product I had really wanted to try in 2012 Panini Black. It was a high end brand on dacardworld.com but they had it at a reasonable price so I took the chance. Glad I did.. Once again, the one thing this Christmas I did specify due to the lack of good rookies in the 2013 class was that I wanted 2012 product. And my wishes came true.

Such a slick design
One of two rookies I found. But this was the bigger name.

Gold Parallel

Numbered inserts

Nice Curtis Martin

The reason I wanted this product was for the rookie autographs because they looked so sweet and now I have to wait to see it!

This was the first hit actually in the pack...great way to kick it off but the next card was the top notch finisher!

BOOM SHAKAKLALALALA!

Dual autograph numbered 1/10 of Cam Newton and Deion Neon Sanders!

This made for a great Christmas break! Always wanted an auto of these guys!

Must also say, Panini Black is an excellent product. The designs are really well done. The cards are really thick and you can pull some really cool stuff. And though you would think a product done on black cardboard would chip a lot, didn't see any chipping in this break.

As always, comments are encouraged on the break or on the pull. Would also enjoy feedback on Panini Black as well!
