Rodney's Cardboard:2025 Absolute Autograph /199

Wow...it's sure been awhile since I have had a new Rodney to share with you guys.

It's just the flow of the hobby and the expensive prices that Rodney is going for now.

Even today's add was more than it should be, but it's also the reason why I waited so long to add it.

I have already added cheaper, lower  numbered stuff from this run before I added the base autograph. Which is sad but a reality for a Super Collector. You want them all, but you also know your limits.

I did add a few cheap Rodney's recently, so I will have others to post as well. One I traded for, that ones pretty cool and can't wait to share that one.

Not sure how many I have left in the Absolute run until I can double check. I might be down to just the 1/1. But, my spreadsheets are being a pain right now to update, just need to work on that so I can.

2024 Absolute Football Blaster Box Break (Daniels!)

Here is the next box break in my eBay gift card/Shane trade break. There will be three of these overall. My last one was a blaster box of 2024 Donruss football that I pulled a Jayden Daniels base rookie card in if you remember.

For this break, I once again stuck to football for this one. Football is my main sport to collect and my favorite sport overall. It only makes sense when I get the opportunity to open anything that I stick with the sport I know the best.

So, let's get to rippin'

I have been a fan of Absolute brand name since the 90's, but when it comes to the retail version of it now-a-days, it's kind of lame. But it was cheap, so I took the gamble.

And here were the highlights,

Kicking it off with a Bo Nix rookie. He impressed many in his rookie season and had some nice throws in the playoffs for the Broncos who are on the up and up.

Penix played well and beat my Giants. That was all I needed to see of him. I kind of see why the Falcons shocked everyone last year in the draft by grabbing him so early.

A couple green parallels, nothing too special.

Star Gazing Ray Davis. I don't think this is a tough pulled insert, I miss the days where the odds were listed on the packages on how hard some inserts are to pull.

Draft Diamonds Jordan Love.

Rock Out DJ Moore

Rock Out Jayden Daniels! Nice!!

By Storm....Jayden Daniels!! We all know he took everyone by storm! Really wished he was a Giant.

Not a bad risk on grabbing this box. With the two Daniels, it made the box.

There is one more break to go from the three I grabbed.

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Panini Absolute Historic Duals Red Ottis Anderson/Rodney Hampton Autograph /75

Today marks the final run on the 2023 Absolute Historic Duals that I have so far. It's not too many and most of my focus has been on the bigger numbered cards as those fell cheaper.

Other than the 1/1, the /10 and the /25 have popped up once and both left my grasp. Hopefully they will re-appear. I have yet to see the Purple /5.

But, let's take a look at a card I have seen and own today :)

This card is the Red version which is numbered to 75. I guess you can consider this a team color parallel as well.

Back of the card is the usual Panini backing.

Here is the overall look at the chase so far.

Historical Duals Black 1
Historical Duals Purple 5
Historical Duals Gold 10
Historical Duals Green 25
Historical Duals Blue 35
Historical Duals Orange 50
Historical Duals Red 75
Historical Duals 199

As I said above, had to focus on the easier ones first.

Stay tuned for new Rodney posts to come!

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Panini Absolute Historic Duals Orange Ottis Anderson/Rodney Hampton Autograph /50

As bright as the sun, today's Rodney Hampton is shining through!

This was the first card in the run I acquired for my chase.

The card is the Orange version which is numbered to 50.

Back of the card is the usual Panini backing.

I have one more to show off before I have to move onto the next part of my Rodney showcase!

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Panini Absolute Historic Duals Ottis Anderson/Rodney Hampton Autograph /35

Today's Rodney Hampton is probably going to be my favorite of the chase, especially since the 1/1 is gone. It's a blue parallel which is team color match especially with their players jerseys on the card being blue as well.

The blue version is numbered to 35.

Back of the card is the usual Panini backing.

Here is the overall look at the chase. The 1/1 had already popped up and I missed it. But at least I can just chase what I can and hopefully someday the 1/1 will come back.

Historical Duals Gold 10

Stay tuned for a couple more of these!

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Panini Absolute Historic Duals Ottis Anderson/Rodney Hampton Autograph /199

One of the bigger surprises to my Rodney Hampton chase this football card season was not only his inclusion in Absolute, but his inclusion in Absolute with another NY Giants running back legend.

That running back, Ottis Anderson.

The problem with adding Anderson to this card is the prices of these Rodney's have gone haywire because of him. Meaning, these cost more than they should.

But I have landed a few from the chase so far.

I am kicking it off with the base version which is numbered to 199.

Burbank Pickups Of The Month Part 1:Found Some Way

My Charles Way collection continues to build and I am building my foundation through base cards I find at Burbank Sport Cards.

Here's a group I tackled first. Both red Prestige are parallels technically.

A few base, a couple red parallels and a low end inserts makes up this group.

And my final card, though it may look like a special parallel, is just a checklist. A checklist!! How can a card that looks this great just be a checklist. May be the greatest looking checklist card I have seen.

Well, that does it for Part 1 of my Burbank pickups. I decided to split up my Burbank mail day into three parts this month.

Remember, you too can order from Burbank Sportcards Beckett Marketplace and Save 10% off your orders from Burbanks Sportscards on Beckett Marketplace. Use Code: 15BURBANK at checkout to do so! Also spend $50 and you will get free shipping. BOOM!

Cardboard Review:2021 Panini Absolute Football (MEGA KABOOM)

I have about 5 Panini products that I really love to open every year and try to make sure I am able to. One of those products is a box I am breaking today.

Absolute football!

I have fared well with this product in the past but nothing prepared me for what I was about to encounter with the 2021 edition.

Let's check it out.

In every master box of 2021 Absolute football is three mini boxes/packs. There are 5 cards per box/pack and 15 cards in the overall hobby box. There are also five hits in every box that includes three autographs. Boxes right now are just under $700.

Each box should offer the following,

• 1 Rookie Premiere Autograph
• 2 Additional Autographs
• 2 Memorabilia Cards
• 1 Insert
• 2 Parallels
• 1 Rookie

BASE:

What a difference in the hobby base vs the retail base. Hobby is really thick base cards that threw me by surprise as the retail is so paper thin. The other difference is there is a rainbow foil on the hobby as the retail is plain foil.

There are 200 cards in the base set that includes 100 veterans and 100 rookies.

PARALLELS:

Here are the following parallels,

PARALLEL CARDS: Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Red, RWB Kaleidoscope, Teal, Yellow, Red Squares /499, Orange Mosaic /199, Blue Diamonds /99, Green Waves /50, Gold Stars /25, Purple Rain /10, Black Galaxy 1/1, Printing Plates 1/1.

SPECTRUM PARALLELS: Base Spectrum, Base RC Spectrum /250, Red /100, Orange /75, Blue /50, Green /25, Gold /10, Purple /5, Black 1/1.

Red Spectrum /100

Green /25

Since we will have to wait on my insert pull, let's tackle the hits.

HITS:

War Room Terrance Marshall

Team Tandems

RPA

Rookie Auto blue /50

Absolute Heroes. Fun to see these names return.

AND MY INSERT OR FINAL HIT AS I CALLED IT....

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWW KABOOM GOLD /10 OF RUSSEL WILSON!! Kabooms fall one per case but this is a gold as well so this is a really big, tough pull.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

Let's tackle value first, remove the Kaboom, this was a rough box break. The Kaboom saves this break.

Now my thoughts, I like this year's base and parallel designs, the hits don't look too bad either, but these Kabooms are everything I imagined and more in hand. I hadn't ever pulled or seen one before other than on eBay etc. This is as close to a 90's insert as we get in the hobby today.

Let me know your thoughts below!

Trade With The Diamond King

*takes a sip, finally getting to sit down for today's post after a busy morning which included getting my booster Pfizer vaccine. Time to find some breakfast as well*

Packages and PWE's have been flowing into the mail box like never before the last week or so. Not only has this led to some excitement, but has also put me in a tough spot when it comes to blogging them. I just hate making people wait for a thank you.

So most of those mail days I tweeted out, so hopefully you follow me on Twitter to have seen those. I think a good portion of my mail days will be posted that way. However, ones I get from fellow bloggers, I still plan to post this way.

*takes a sip, then shakes arm to get muscle loose from the shot*

My most recent blogger trade, I haven't done a lot of them this year, is from The Diamond King who had posted his best Griffey's including one he had for trade.

But, before we get to that card, our trade expanded a bit more and he included some awesome 90's inserts I didn't have (this is only a small portion of them)

Sp Matchups

Ultra The Book On

New Horizon Hideki Irabu

Upper Deck National Pride (how great does this look with the light box)

*takes a break for a minute to shake the arm again*

Playoff Illusions Spectralusion of Shannon Sharpe

Ultra Notables

*takes another break and arm shake. puts his left arm out, puts his left arm in, puts his left arm out, and shakes it all about....then goes back to typing*

On top of those great 90s inserts, then there was this beauty.

Wayne Gallman Triple Rookie Relic autograph from Absolute football. Even though he is in Atlant

a now, I still collect him.

And finally, the big piece.

2000 Skybox Dominion Eye On October Plus Parallel. The base version of this fell 1:24 packs while the tougher to find Plus parallel fell 1:240 packs. There is also a much rarer level with the Warp Tek parallel that's numbered.

Big thanks to The Diamond King on the trade.

*takes a sip, shakes the arm again, and gets ready to finish up today's post before moving onto more stuff to do today*

I know I have more mail days on the way from trades I just made, I also have some mail I have to send out which will lead to even more mail days. I am definitely not complaining about the situation, I just don't see myself sitting down to post them all like the old days.

What have you gotten in the mail box recently?

Have a great Tuesday.

*Coffee Card Blogger Out*

Breakin' Wax:2020 Absolute Football Blaster Box (Surprised Solid Pull!!)

Every blaster box of 2020 Absolute football comes with 8 packs of 8 cards in each. Each blaster that flippers don't get ahold of go for $20.

The base card design is okay. I chose to put Watson as my best Absolute base when I opened this in December when taking pictures. So ignore it now if you must.

Decent rookie card find.

Best rookie card find.

Another decent rookie card.

So far, so good on this box.

Green parallels....par good.

Not very good on this one. Nobody will take Russ' spot on that roster.

And holy moly good. Stunning card and a shocker for this break! This made the break!

More Jordan Love. I always pull this guy.

The GOAT. I hate to admit it but after he led the Bucs to the Super Bowl he is the man and proved it.

A couple other decent guys in inserts.

It was already a top notch break before the hit and I was happy as it was.

But landing another top pick relic card just sealed the deal.

By far my best blaster break all of 2020 and it helped cheer up a time when I was dealing with kidney stones and kidney stone surgeries.
