You've Got Mail

You've Got Mail

Well, thirteen of you will.

I finally sat down and packed up some cards to go out. I have been wanting to do this for weeks but with school and life getting in the way, I just didn't have the time.

I like to try and get serious mailings like this out a few times a year for my readers and for fellow bloggers as well.

So, some of you will need to keep an eye on your mailboxes over the next week as these went out yesterday.

In the meantime, here's a couple of my recent mail days that is quite the mixed bag,

2026 Topps Chrome Football Leather Russell Wilson.

2026 Topps Neon Disney Winter Darkwing Duck

2026 Topps Neon Disney Diamante Darkwing Duck

1999 Topps Finest Prominent Figures /1848

Everyone of these cards belongs in a different PC.

I am looking forward to everyone getting their mail days and hopefully posting about them, because, you've got mail.

Breakin' Wax:2021 Mosaic Football Blaster Box

One of the hardest products to find on the retail market is Mosaic football. Flippers around me come in and clean shelves off within seconds. Fortunately for me, my father was there just in time once.

That's where today's blaster break comes.

Each blaster box of 2021 Mosaic football comes with 32 cards or 8 packs of 4 cards. No guarantees and boxes run roughly $35.

My blaster was very weak in comparison to my father who bought five of them. Three of his five he landed a Genesis parallel, a case hit, which one was Tom Brady. That card alone sells for $500+. Not that his two others were awful either in Alvin Kamara and Cooper Kupp.

Best rookies of the box.

Silver.

Another form of silver haha

Green

Dalvin Cook Touchdown Masters insert

Tyreek Hill Green Touchdown Masters.

And a Got Game insert of Darren Waller.

Not much to show for the price, but at least it was a fun rip. I just wished I had landed at least a PC card.

Thoughts on Mosaic is welcomed in comments!

Cardboard Review:2021 Certified Football

I have not been able to open a lot of football products this year, so it's always nice to be able to do so.

With costs above my budget and rarely any retail, my favorite sport to open is becoming as rare as finding an actual collector anymore.

I have seen plenty of baseball though, if only I was still into collecting it deeply.

Anyways, enough of my whining and complaining, let's check out today's break,

In every box of 2021 Certified Football comes 10 packs of 5 cards each. Each box should have one autograph and one memorabilia per. Boxes currently sit at $430.

BASE:

Base cards in Certified have always remained the same front and back I feel. Front has foil, back has one year stats and a write up. There is nothing wrong with that though if it works.

The base set is built up of 100 veterans

and then 100 rookies numbered to 399.

PARALLELS:

The following parallels can be found,

Mirror /299, Bronze /249, Pink /199, Orange /149, Red /99, Blue /75, Teal /50, Gold /25, Purple /10, Green /5, and Black 1/1.

Mirror /299

Orange /149

Teal /50

The parallels overall are pretty stunning.

INSERTS:

Most inserts have the following parallels,

Bronze /249, Pink /199, Orange /149, Red /99, Blue /75, Teal /50, Gold /25, Purple /10, Green /5, and Black 1/1.

 J

Certified Stars has 25 cards to collect

Gold Team has 20 cards to collect

Seal Of Approval has 20 cards to collect as well.

Bronze Seal Of Approval /249

2021 Graffiti. These are sooooooooooooo sweet in person. Not a bad find of Mac Jones.

2021 Graffiti Blue /75

Dark Horses. Really cool look to these.

HITS:

New Generation Patch card

Michael Carter New Generation Patch card.

Shawne Merriman Mirror Signatures /35

And my other autograph is a Top 5 NFL pick in Kyle Pitts. This is also a Freshman Fabric Mirror Signatures Pink.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

I always about the money aspect of things for the first part of my thoughts as a lot of people worry about that first. I would say, the biggest hit of this box was actually the Graffiti Mac Jones insert. The rest were meh. Pitts has a bright future, but collectors really don't seek out tight ends that much. Sort of like an offensive lineman who can catch.

As for the fun aspect, the Graffiti cards are that and the mirror parallels look the best they have in years. The patch cards are nice and it's fun seeing signatures of guys you may not see all the time like the Merriman. The checklist for those signatures is full of names like that.

In comments today, let me know your thoughts on this product.

Cardboard Review:2021 Panini Absolute Football (MEGA KABOOM)

I have about 5 Panini products that I really love to open every year and try to make sure I am able to. One of those products is a box I am breaking today.

Absolute football!

I have fared well with this product in the past but nothing prepared me for what I was about to encounter with the 2021 edition.

Let's check it out.

In every master box of 2021 Absolute football is three mini boxes/packs. There are 5 cards per box/pack and 15 cards in the overall hobby box. There are also five hits in every box that includes three autographs. Boxes right now are just under $700.

Each box should offer the following,

• 1 Rookie Premiere Autograph
• 2 Additional Autographs
• 2 Memorabilia Cards
• 1 Insert
• 2 Parallels
• 1 Rookie

BASE:

What a difference in the hobby base vs the retail base. Hobby is really thick base cards that threw me by surprise as the retail is so paper thin. The other difference is there is a rainbow foil on the hobby as the retail is plain foil.

There are 200 cards in the base set that includes 100 veterans and 100 rookies.

PARALLELS:

Here are the following parallels,

PARALLEL CARDS: Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Red, RWB Kaleidoscope, Teal, Yellow, Red Squares /499, Orange Mosaic /199, Blue Diamonds /99, Green Waves /50, Gold Stars /25, Purple Rain /10, Black Galaxy 1/1, Printing Plates 1/1.

SPECTRUM PARALLELS: Base Spectrum, Base RC Spectrum /250, Red /100, Orange /75, Blue /50, Green /25, Gold /10, Purple /5, Black 1/1.

Red Spectrum /100

Green /25

Since we will have to wait on my insert pull, let's tackle the hits.

HITS:

War Room Terrance Marshall

Team Tandems

RPA

Rookie Auto blue /50

Absolute Heroes. Fun to see these names return.

AND MY INSERT OR FINAL HIT AS I CALLED IT....

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWW KABOOM GOLD /10 OF RUSSEL WILSON!! Kabooms fall one per case but this is a gold as well so this is a really big, tough pull.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

Let's tackle value first, remove the Kaboom, this was a rough box break. The Kaboom saves this break.

Now my thoughts, I like this year's base and parallel designs, the hits don't look too bad either, but these Kabooms are everything I imagined and more in hand. I hadn't ever pulled or seen one before other than on eBay etc. This is as close to a 90's insert as we get in the hobby today.

Let me know your thoughts below!

Cards On Cards Sends Surprises!

Another mail day from the great Cards On Cards arrived again that combined a few freebie Friday claims and a few surprises as well.

Its starts out with this Aaron Judge that I now want parallels for. Didn't expect this cool surprise, but it's much welcomed as I needed it. Hope to land the Griffey base and parallels too.

A Cave helps me finish up my 2020 Allen Ginter Where Monsters Live set (which this was a surprise card as well)

Same goes with the Griffey Jr. My Junior PC continues to grow as of recent. I really need to piece together some numbers on here again.

Gleyber Torres I do have a few copies of but this one may be in better condition then the others.

One of my freebie Friday claims was this Daniel Jones base card. Being one of the very few football first collectors in the blogosphere and one of maybe two Giants fans helps. I think the other Giants fan is Bo but he doesn't follow my blog any longer. Not sure why.

And yes, I take note of those who follow, unfollow, and comment on this blog just to let you know :)

Speaking of football, add Russell Wilson to the list of guys I collect. Strong guy of faith and a great teammate, hard not to like him. This was a claim from Freebie Friday as well.

Thanks again to Kerry for the mail day and sweet surprises! Hope to have some Cards on Cards sent your way soon!

How To Detinate A @Cardpocalypse Mail Day

(to get caught up on some mail days, I am taking a one week hiatus from $25 Week Challenge this week. Hopefully it will return next Saturday)

We got it, we know it, and we can explode it...tick..tick..tick...tick...tick BOOM BOOM dynamite...BOOM BOOM dynamite!!!

The loud cheering from the high school cheerleaders during the time I played football rang loud and clear once again when I got my latest mail day from @CardpocalypseNC as he sent one tightly wrapped mail day that might have had the feds coming to check it out.

I mean, look at this. Is there cards in there or something else..

Well.....there was something else non cards in there. As @CardpocalypseNC did message and tell me at one point that he had found a couple of DVD's he thought I would like and he was certainly right.

I can't wait to take a few minutes out of my busy schedule to watch them.

Under the DVD's came the magic of cardboard. I won't be showing it all today, or probably even all in the next month as a lot of it will be covered when I have the sets talk on here again.

So for today, lets take a look at most of the other stuff Tim passed along.

If you don't pay attention to my Top 25 Most Wanted list, you would have seen this card was on there. Since I found out Russell had a Yankees card in Bowman Chrome, I wanted it. Tim ended up with two copies and so nicely sent one along to me.

Wayne Gallman and Evan Engram The Rookies inserts. I still say that Donruss is a very underrated Panini product for all sports they do it for.

DA MAN. Possibly the greatest Giant of all-time, LT.

Landon Collins Blue Press Proof and Sterling Shepard Yellow Press Proofs.

I think you guys may have heard of this guy. Been needing a few more Zions  and @Cardpocalypse came through for me. Still in need of the base rookie.

And here is just a sneak peek at my newest PC, RJ Barrett. Tim sent along a couple more for it.

Tribute from NBA Hoops

and the base rookie as well.

I will have much, much more on this blossoming PC in the upcoming days.

In the meantime, thanks to Tim (@CardpocalypseNC) for yet another awesome trade and sweet additions to my collection. There is more to come from this trade with Sets Talk, Rodney's Cardboard, and even a Kerry's Cardboard as well.
