Cards On Cards Sends Surprises!

Another mail day from the great Cards On Cards arrived again that combined a few freebie Friday claims and a few surprises as well.

Its starts out with this Aaron Judge that I now want parallels for. Didn't expect this cool surprise, but it's much welcomed as I needed it. Hope to land the Griffey base and parallels too.

A Cave helps me finish up my 2020 Allen Ginter Where Monsters Live set (which this was a surprise card as well)

Same goes with the Griffey Jr. My Junior PC continues to grow as of recent. I really need to piece together some numbers on here again.

Gleyber Torres I do have a few copies of but this one may be in better condition then the others.

One of my freebie Friday claims was this Daniel Jones base card. Being one of the very few football first collectors in the blogosphere and one of maybe two Giants fans helps. I think the other Giants fan is Bo but he doesn't follow my blog any longer. Not sure why.

And yes, I take note of those who follow, unfollow, and comment on this blog just to let you know :)

Speaking of football, add Russell Wilson to the list of guys I collect. Strong guy of faith and a great teammate, hard not to like him. This was a claim from Freebie Friday as well.

Cards On Cards Strikes Again!

Another mail day from the great Cards On Cards arrived again that combined multiple freebie Friday's he was hosting.

I am such a slacker on here that I haven't sent anything back yet, but I have a list of mailings to make and Kerry is at the top of those to hit back with. I hope to do it this weekend (this was typed up on Saturday).

Any who, let's see what I claimed/he sent this time.

There were a bunch of these 1997 Donruss Preferred base cards and I couldn't let them just sit there. Heck, may try to build yet another set now that I have these. Gotta see what I have kicking around here to add to them and see where it goes.

I like unique cards with owners/coaches/cheerleaders that you don't see every day. This Joe Robbie fit the bill.

I don't know what it was, but this Payne Stewart was simply just needed to be with me. I will stick it in my special golf binder.

Die cut, check. 90's insert, check. Warrick Dunn, bonus.

A new PC piece for my Ken Griffey Jr pc. I know I am not known as a Griffey Jr collector but I still have over 1,000 cards of the guy but he has fallen into the backseat of my collecting over the years. It's just too hard to collect a guy that so many do and compete with the prices his stuff goes for.

College Connections is just a great looking insert set. I have been wanting more since I added the Hampton one to my collection.

More Cards From Cards On Cards

Becoming older has made me forget a lot of things. Not so much where I placed my car keys but more like where did I stick that card? What cards did I just trade for? Didn't I claim that or was that it? How come Cards On Cards sent me another package when I thought I got everything I claimed from his weekly freebies?

Well, thing was, I hadn't. And none of that clicked in until I opened up the package he had sent me.

Oh yes, Grayson Allen. My first card of the once Duke player.

Gremlins 2 pack that surprisingly nobody else looked at. I will store this in my unopened packs PC.

Madonna. Enough said for my non sports PC.

Nancy Lieberman. Hall Of Famer, coach, and broadcaster. I found this to be a unique add.

Coby White. Only my second card of the Bulls stud

Ed O'Bannon isn't a household name but for me it's all about the 90's and 90's parallels so that's why he came home to me.

Not much to say here. A Griffey popped up and I needed it.

Same goes for this Mike Trout Gold parallel from Big League.

Then we end it with a biggie. Well, for me. a 1990-1991 NBA Hoops set. Just felt like I needed it. Usually I am not a big early 90's set person but this one has a couple of MJ's I didn't have for my PC and that Menendez brothers card I wanted an upgrade for since mine is damaged.

Thanks to Cards On Cards again for this mail day and for running those freebie Fridays. Hopefully soon I can send you something to make up for all of my claims. Just gotta get to digging! My current sorting project should help with that.

Cards On Cards Sent Me cards

   

In recent weeks, Cards On Cards posted a break of 2019 Panini Black Friday packs and fortunately for me one of my loyal readers and fellow Blogger Jon from A Penny Sleeve For Your Thoughts noticed a card from the break I would be interested in and commented I would be. Next day, Cards On Cards contacted me about the said card and off went a trade.

Not only did Kerry from Cards On Cards sent me the card from that post, but he also loaded me up with so much more. I was blown away. I felt like I under did what I sent him. I will just have to send more at a later time and definitely check his most wanted list as I may be able to help there.

Here was the cards I was sent hitting a few PC's,

 Gleyber gold from Big League. Didn't have that.

   

Or the other one in that base set. Or any of these actually. When it comes to landing PC material for myself, it never works that way.

Nice Canvas Collection reproduction card. The artist did a great job with this one.

 Totally loved this Judge, beautiful shot and it's chromed. Doesn't get any better than that.

A pair of Aaron Judge refractors. Base and sepia. Anytime I can add chrome refractors I will especially of player I collect.

And finally, the card he pulled from the Black Friday packs, Saquon Barkley jersey card. Was glad it was able to get into my hands. Great piece for my Saquon and Giants PC.

Cards On FOOTBALL Cards

On Twitter, I saw a tweet from Cards on Cards that he had discovered some football card finds from Goodwill and was looking to move them.

I see that as an opportunity knowing how much I love collecting football cards.

So I checked out his post and noticed that the cards fell right into my liking with most of it being 90's parallels and inserts. So we had a discussion and pulled off a trade.

My mail day arrived a few days ago so let's take a look at what I landed.

Some NY Giants. I know I normally wait to post these for Sunday's, but I am a bit backed up on that already so I am posting them now to get myself caught up. Here are some Topps Gold parallels.

Wild Card was such a deep set. It pretty much covers most of my wants for Hamptons for the early 90's. So hard to find some of these striped parallels.

A few guys I enjoyed watching. Tyrone Wheatley had some great seasons in Oakland just not in NY. Phillipi Sparks made some big plays on defense for the G-men and even is the father of Jordin Sparks who was on American Idol. I will always take in Victor Cruz cards. Wished the guy hadn't gotten injured as he had such a bigger future ahead with the Gmen. But, I do appreciate his time there and his big Super Bowl touchdown in 46.

Love this photo. That appealed to me immediately. Upper Deck did rookie photo shoots the right way.

That ends the Gmen, but he we are with some 90's parallels. Upper Deck Electric Silver.

1995 Classic silvers

I dig the Collectors Choice gold parallels from 1994 and who doesn't love Crash The Game inserts especially of Hall Of Famers. But, the card that really caught me was the Nemeses one on the bottom.

Gold Prism and a Cris Carter to help my set needs from 1995 Ultra awards.

1994 Ultra 2nd year standout inserts include Jason Elam who I consider one of the greatest ever to kick.

1994 Fleer Fleer All Pro Irvin and Aikman

Some draft prospects from 1994 Fleer including Mario Bates and Errict Rhett.

I found goooooooooooooold! Gold Rush inserts were some of the coolest early 90's parallels besides....

these. Nothing topped these Special Effects early on. Not even the first refractors from Finest. These are what got me hooked onto football cards. Once again, this would be another fun parallel set to build along with my many others. I just may chase it especially with six more to help me out.
