Dennis Makes My Weekend

Most of us on Monday mornings are dealing with the Monday morning drag, but, not me today. I am on a high as the NY Football Giants are starting the season 2-0 for the first time in 6 years!!

Am I expecting this to be a Super Bowl team? Not even close. Do I expect a playoff run? No, not really. Will there be a bright future, yes, I believe there will finally be one.

Not only am I on a high from the big win but getting a mail day from Too Many Verlanders also helps.

Dennis once again somehow knew what to send without hitting me with too many duplicates.

Actually, the only duplicate was this Phil Simms.

Which is beyond impressive since I have 6500+ Giants cards.
Sending numbered ones like Ron Dayne is always helpful. Hard to get dupes when you send numbered cards.

Same thing for this Andre Woodson. Who is also a reminder of all of the QB's the Giants went through for backups.

Ramses Barden is not numbered, but I also didn't have it.

Joe is not only numbered, but this card also has a great photo. That's what I call a double win.

New Manningham Relics!

Flame die cuts, yes please!

Dennis had this one up for grabs in his trade bait post, I don't ever turn down a shiny 90's insert. Doesn't matter the player.

With 2021 Prizm being impossible to find, I will take any parallels of the Giants I can get. Sadly, I don't have this base card of Jones yet.

And the biggest surprise of this package was a card I have been wanting for some time and have been meaning to add to my Top Want List on here....

Dynamic Duos!! How cool is this card?? I have really been into the superhero/sport crossovers.

These cards were produced in 2001 and were numbered to 1499.

I spotted this card window shopping on eBay last year but forgot to add it to my want list.

Thanks again for the mail day Dennis. I am working on yours still and a few others I am hoping to get all out by Christmas.

Hope everyone has a great Monday.

The Latest

I haven't made a lot of trades this year like I have in years past, at least in the variety of traders I use. But, I have made some and even those some have backed me up with posts on the blog to do.

As I try to get my mind in the right place with blogging, I am still undecided on my future with it still and the direction I will take, I still have lots to post about regardless if anyone is reading these posts or not. September was a brutal month for numbers on this blog despite my new direction for it which is not a good sign of it's future. September both views (especially views) and comments took a BIG DIP. I am not talking a few here and there, I am talking a ton. Comparing August and September on there, there was a 17,000 view difference and in terms of comments, that was cut in half. It's the kind of thing that drives you away some. It's probably the main reason I jumpstarted Cards Over Coffee back up again, knowing if I am not going to get the views or comments anyways, I might as well continue on with that blog.

Which by the way, if you haven't checked out Cards Over Coffee in awhile, it not only has a new jazzy look but has some new posts. I am still in the process of adding new content, a new look and more fun over there. Check out that blog HERE. Please add it to your blogrolls, use it in your blog posts when you refer to me, etc. Those posts take me hours to do so the more traffic to check it out, the better.

In the meantime for now, let's check out a new post on here and from blog reader Oren who happens to be the person who I have traded with the most this year.

A couple for the non sport PC.

I have always liked Kurt, his passion for the game and for his faith is someone worth looking up to. Not to mention his backstory which will soon be a movie.

90's inserts. I never complain about getting these, the more, the merrier.

Another nice Martin relic for that side PC. Think I have 4 of them now.

And finally...yes, I always save the best for last...

Batman Forever Built For Speed. Best card in my Batman PC currently. If any of you are sitting on any Batman cards that are collecting dust, I will send you my address :)

Thanks again to Oren for the trade. I am sure by the time this posts we would have done at least another trade.

As for the rest of you, check out Cards Over Coffee please and once again add it to your blogrolls and even a add onto your post would be appreciated as well!

Giants Cardboard: Mosaic Adds!

The Giants season as I am typing this is 1-7 and the ship and chances for playoffs is sailing away. Though, they are not completely out. It really depends on their game vs Washington today. Yes, this is a week in advance.

Despite the Giants seemingly depressing record, it all hasn't been that bad. It appears the Giants have the right coaches in place for the future. The defense this year hasn't been the embarassement it had been the last few years. The Oline is very slowly coming together and it appears give this team a year or two and a new GM they will finally turn things around.

If I was to sum up the season til now I would say heartbreaking. Outside of the loss to the 49ers, the Giants have been in every game and they have come down to the last quarter for most where the Giants either get penalized, turnover or get calls against them as this year the refs have it out for them. Either way, I am feeling good about the future. Just hoping that Daniel Jones can grasp the playbook a little more and stop turning the ball over. TUCK THE BALL IN WHEN A SACK IS COMING AND TAKE THE SACK. Or if you are going to throw it away before you get sacked, THROW THE BALL OUT OF BOUNDS. He has so many similarities to Eli, as that was something he used to do, but the right coach/scheme can get a lot out of Jones if you look at last year.

I still have faith in him.

Since today the Giants face the first place Eagles, a team they should have beaten the first time, I thought I would show off my latest adds in this new segment. This will be a filler segment until new Rodney Hamptons come in.

My first Giants mail day comes from @NCSportcards when he sent me a RAK.

My first Giants cards out of 2020 Absolute.

My first Slayton out of Mosaic

My first Daniel Jones out of Mosaic

If you don't see a common trend here I will point it out, I didn't see a single pack of Mosaic whether it was football or basketball. Didn't even see it in Chronicles baseball.

Thomas has had an up and down season so far. I hope he gets better over time.

The defense has played well so far, add McKinney in here at some point and it could really take off

And my final Giants Mosaic Got Game of Saquon.

Thanks again to @NCsportscards for the RAK!

My next mail day was apart of a trade with @acc2107. This is only part of the trade, once again, you will have to wait until I kick off the Christmas season on here.

Until then, let's see what I got.

That's right...more Giants Mosaic.

I don't know the parallels well in this product other than seeing how purty they are. Since I never opened any, I figured I didn't need to study the product like I do with others.

I will call this green. I am sure its wrong

Orange flames. Who knows? But, looks super cool.

And finally, a Green Eli. I can see why so many like this product.

Thanks to Adam for the trade.

Speaking of him, I also won a contest for a blaster box of 2020 Donruss Holiday from him. That will be shown off when my Christmas season kicks off and be the very first post for it.

This is just the beginning of Giants Cardboard. More to come!

I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Say Hey To The Mail Day

I have been having fun working on a few smaller sorting projects and have been using some of the cards for fun tweets on Twitter.

When I posted a lot of Max Scherzer rookie cards, @thesayheykid95 saw the tweet and inquired about if I was selling the cards. I said I don't sell, but I would be down for a trade, so we did a trade. Our first. First trades are always tough because you really want to having everything go right so you will have a new trader to your circle.

And this one went that great. I got my mail day, he got his, and no hiccups.

My mail day landed me this Aaron Judge Optic rookie. I regret letting go of a good portion of my Judge PC about a year ago and have been very snail slow adding some of those back. Judge, Gleyber and Jeter are my Yankee PC's at this point.

2020 has opened me back up to collecting a lot more basketball cards and RJ Barrett is one of those big new PC's I have accomplished. I am still lacking an autograph of him which would be a key piece to my collection hopefully at some point.

Thanks to @thesayheykid95 for the trade and hope we can do more down the road!

Ending 2019 With A Bang!

2019 wasn't as big of a year as 2018 was for me with card adds, but it wasn't the worst year I ever had either. I was able to at least cross some needs off from my checklist and some of that was from help with others.

One of them that helped me knock a few cards down was my buddy @StephenJFurlong recently.

Some Rodney's that were on my want list

Kerry Collins Starting Lineup. I believe he only has two so I am only one away from having both now. This is believed to be his rookie one.

And finally, a Fred Taylor autograph. Fred has been on my list for a couple of years as a 90's guy I have been needing. I really loved watching Fred run and the Jags were my second favorite team in the 90's so it was an obvious need. I also like Fred's signature and added jersey number. Gavin, from Baseball Card Breakdown blog may also take note this is a "Christmas Card".

Glad to finally cross Taylor's autograph off but still have many more to go!

Thanks @StephenJFurlong for the mail day! I know there is more on the way but I will post that at a later date.

Up next, generosity was shown to me to end the year as @heyitsTMurph grabbed a card for me that @BrilliantCards had for sale on Twitter as a Christmas gift. It was a dual booklet autograph featuring a NY Giant and that other NY team.
Front:

Inside:

Shonn Greene on one side

Andre Brown on the other. He actually signed his on the patch. My hope is that the autograph don't fade over time. I have a couple Letterman signed by Brown and they have faded badly on the fabric that hasn't seen the light of day.

This marks only my third Giants booklet in my collection. Thanks @heyitsTMurph for the mail day!

And finally, my last trade of 2019, I did have one trade before this one which I plan to show tomorrow, but this was the literally final one of 2019 and was done with my buddy @CrattyPatty25 who posted some Lamar Jacksons FS/FT.

And knowing me, I had to have them. It's a very, very small slight side PC I have.
First Down parallel /99

 Timeless Tributes /99 parallel

Bonus card he nicely tossed in!

I am still looking for an autograph card of Lamar and Mahomes but doubt I will ever be able to get one at this point.

Thanks for the trade @CrattyPatty25 and here's to more in 2020.

I hope all of you have a Happy, safe New Years Eve. Don't make stupid decisions like being under the influence and driving. Be smart, be safe and see you next year! (I plan to be in bed by 9:30 like usual)

Cards On Cards Sent Me cards

In recent weeks, Cards On Cards posted a break of 2019 Panini Black Friday packs and fortunately for me one of my loyal readers and fellow Blogger Jon from A Penny Sleeve For Your Thoughts noticed a card from the break I would be interested in and commented I would be. Next day, Cards On Cards contacted me about the said card and off went a trade.

Not only did Kerry from Cards On Cards sent me the card from that post, but he also loaded me up with so much more. I was blown away. I felt like I under did what I sent him. I will just have to send more at a later time and definitely check his most wanted list as I may be able to help there.

Here was the cards I was sent hitting a few PC's,

Gleyber gold from Big League. Didn't have that.

Or the other one in that base set. Or any of these actually. When it comes to landing PC material for myself, it never works that way.

Nice Canvas Collection reproduction card. The artist did a great job with this one.

A pair of framed Diamond King cards of Gleyber

90's insert I didn't have. I do remember this insert line though.

Two new Griffeys including the Topps Baseball Card Day one I have wanted for some time.

 Aaron Judge

Totally loved this Judge, beautiful shot and it's chromed. Doesn't get any better than that.

A pair of Aaron Judge refractors. Base and sepia. Anytime I can add chrome refractors I will especially of player I collect.

And finally, the card he pulled from the Black Friday packs, Saquon Barkley jersey card. Was glad it was able to get into my hands. Great piece for my Saquon and Giants PC.

Huge thanks to Kerry for the trade and for all of the awesome extras!! I will have to hit you up again when I go searching.

Now it's time to update my player numbers again!
