Owed Thanks

It's been a crazy-busy year so far and when you combine that with the fact that I got another year older already, this means I can become very forgetful.

What helps me get through is writing post-it notes or in this case having a blog draft ready.

When I started moving posts from my other two blogs back onto this one, I discovered a hidden draft I had started and never finished. It was a very generous mail day from my northern neighbor Angus who blogs on Dawg Day Cards.  I believe I had published the other half of this mail day on Cards Over Coffee but had been meaning to finish posting it on another blog and never did.

So, before I begin this post, I would like to first apologize to Angus for this delayed owed thanks for such a great mail day.

Now, time to show off the rest of that mail day,

I kick it off with a golden YA Tittle.

Next, a shiny Kerry Collins. Regardless if I have this or not, I never EVER turn down any 90's inserts or parallels especially of my favorite players.

Phil Simms 1984 Topps

As someone who grew up watching the Flinstones and the live action movies, these were great additions for two PC's. I could count these as non-sport ones as well. I have seen a couple of these on eBay before and always wanted them, now I have them.

I always hoard these Pro set cards.

One of my favorite Giants of all-time is featured on this card. Hakeem Nicks was very underrated as a Giants pass catcher but had one heck of a run in the 2011 NFL Playoffs leading the Giants to the Super Bowl and upset win.

I miss Sterling, I really wished he had retired as a Giant.

And finally, a Rodney Hampton. I do have this one, it's hard to find many that I don't have, but Rodney's are always welcomed just in case I don't.

Thanks again Angus for the mail day. I really appreciated all of it and you are a great, generous guy.

I guess before I continue on with more new posts on here, I better check my post-it notes and drafts to make sure I don't have any other owed thanks Let's just hope I don't misplace those as well, that wouldn't be good. I can't have a post-it note of where I placed my post-it notes.

A Variety From Dion

It had been a while, but Dion from Dion's Autograph blog and I finally pulled off another PWE trade.

As you will see from the pics below, I had a lot of different variety come my way in this one,

There is a good mix of sports and non-sports above. Even some new Kerry Collins! Can't remember the last time I added to that PC.

Thanks again to Dion for our latest trade and I am looking forward to the next!

Kerry's Cardboard:1996 Presidents Reserve Air Force One

It's another football packed Sunday and even though my Giants have played like a 1-star high school team, I am still on board and still rooting for them to win.

I am not a fan of a team tanking for a number one draft pick. I am all about the winning, though I do want a new Quarterback next year. Sorry Daniel Jones, it's time.

If only Kerry Collins was still ready to play, he could have filled in for Jones this season and maybe things would be different. But, that boat has sailed.

At least I still can still add some Kerry's Cardboard.

Randomly inserted in packs at a rate of one in 16, my latest add is from the all-acetate product Presidents Reserve which was a one-year and done product by Collectors Edge.

This 38-card set featured the best of the long ball threats in the league. It's a two-way-view plastic card with some added shine. Each card is individually numbered out of 2,500.

As with most 90's cards, once again, this one shines above anything from today.

This was my first Collins add in awhile, may need to put some focus on him again.

Well, Giants, this Collins shined today, hoping you will as well against Washington.

Kerry's Cardboard:1996 Action Packed Longest Yard

Fun inserts comes to mind when I am putting together my Kerry Collins collection.

Sure, there are plenty of base cards I could chase for cheaper, but I want to tackle the fun stuff first.

For example, 1996 Action Packed Longest Yard.

These shiny embossed background cards that fell 1:24 packs draws your eyes right in. Absolutely love it and love the football background.

Back Of The Card.

These are the type of Kerry Collins cards that make me smile even not in a Giants uniform.

I will be posting another pickup soon from this set soon.

Thoughts on today's insert add welcomed in comments.

It's All Been Fire Recently

The last two months of this blog's stats are hard to ignore. I thought maybe the big 75,000+ view month in June was a fluke until July brought in another huge monthly total of 68,000 + views.

Being someone who loves numbers, these have drawn me back to this blog for some new posts in August. I will be curious if this month can hold up to the past two months and wonder how new posts would do here.

So, let's kick off a new month with a new post with some new cards.

These are all separate mail days I got and for different reasons.

I have been trying to add Prizm rookie cards to my collection and have a list of needs I have been narrowing down the last few months. It started out as roughly 10 needs and now I have narrowed it down to 2 needs. I need a 2020 Prizm Jalen Hurts rookie and a 2022 Prizm Sam Howell rookie. Of course, I would welcome two other guys in Burrow and Herbert but I don't imagine I can touch those guys so I never added them to my list.

I haven't added a new card to my Rueben Randle PC in a while and was able to acquire this quad relic pretty cheap. I think a lot of people forget how great of a back that Doug Martin was.

My Kerry Collins PC has been growing steadily this summer so when adding a low numbered parallel for cheap is in the cards, see what I did there, you add it.

This 2002 Fleer Premium Super Rubies is numbered to 100.

Next card, a low numbered GAME WORN relic from 2012 Certified of Amani Toomer. Every Toomer add helps me to try and move up on TCDB.

And my final add, I have a small PC of Jasson Dominguez and have always liked Panini Unleashed inserts, when they added Dominguez to the 2023 lineup, I had to have one.

A bunch of fire mail days in what has been a fire couple of months on this blog. A great way to kick off a new month of new posts.

In comments, let me know your thoughts on my latest additions and if you are excited to see new posts on here!

Trading With Da Dufus

I am so far behind on posting these mail days, I did today's trade a couple of months ago.

It was my very first trade with @Da_Dufus and it went great, even with the USPS being a little obnoxious with the arrival of my mail day.

It showed up after being in limbo for 2 weeks if you were curious by that last sentence.

@Da_Dufus is a Super Collector of Anthony Miller, so when I saw a Kerry Collins I needed he had posted for sale or trade, I jumped.

The trade went further than just the one Collins card as I hauled in some 90's inserts as well.

Side PC guy TD. Think this is the first time I have owned a Platinum Portraits.

Donovan McNabb rookie and a Playoff Fantasy Team insert of Steve Young. Those inserts have a sparkle in the background. This is my second one of these...feels like a set chase is needed.

Spx Gold! I have roughly 12 of these towards my set chase of these now.

And finally, the Collins card that started the trade, a 2009 Score Inscriptions Gold Zone /50.

Thanks again to @Da_Dufus for the trade, hope we can do this again!

Thoughts on my mail day welcomed in comments.

A Perfect Trade

*coffee smell is throughout the kitchen this morning waking up all of the senses. goes and pours creamer in, stirs, goes and sits for today's post*

Trading has really been slow for me in 2022 so far. It's not like I don't have the pieces to trade, it's just that I can't find the right collectors for those pieces and the few I have found didn't have anything for me in return.

That changed this past week where two decent pieces I had to trade found their way to new homes.

*takes a sip*

One of those pieces found their way to @ShoffJason who is a big White Sox fan and on top of that, had pieces for me in return. That my friends is called a perfect trade.

Speaking of perfect trade, this one was easy and fast which also makes it perfect.

I will start by showing off the bonus cards that Jason threw into this trade,

Shiny Derek Jeter I didn't have, awesome.

I only have a couple 20 Years Of The Captain, so all of these are new.

Christmas and Yankee PC all in one card.

Shiny Aaron Judge for my rebuilt Judge PC.

2008 Topps Chrome Uncirculated Gold refractor /199

Those were just the freebies, now onto the trade portion which will kick off with some new Kerry Collins,

1995 Playoff Draft Pick

1995 Ultra Gold Medallion (these still look better than most parallels today)

Team Pinnacle Collins and Marino

1996 Upper Deck Silver Team Helmets

1995 Ultra Extra Gold Medallion

Phone Card from Assets.

And now the finale but first....

*takes a sip*

The trade had started when Jason noticed I was a Giants fan and had a few Saquon Barkley available,

2018 Gold Standard Newly Minted Triple Relic with some guy from Cleveland, Saquon and a solid wideout from Carolina.

And the final card......

2018 Leaf Limited autograph patch rookie Saquon Barkley.

Thanks again to Jason for the trade.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

I have another big trade to post coming up soon.

Thoughts on my trade today and if you feel your trading has gone down this year so far.

Have a thankful Thursday.
