Random Cardboard Of The Day:1994 Stadium Club Ring Leader Ronnie Lott

First off, let's take note how odd it is to see him in anything but a 49ers Uniform.

Second, I have been wanting to add one of these inserts for a long time and finally did.

Glad I did.

Now this may become a new set chase.

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Finest Black Refractor Autograph /25

(Previously posted on Big Blue Cardboard. All Rodney's Cardboard posts from here on out will be cross-posted)
It's Sunday and it's time for a new Rodney's Cardboard.

This is actually one of my newest Rodney adds in the mail.

I have about five of the refractor autographs I need from the 2024 Finest set for Rodney. This is the second lowest numbered one I have in the run, I also have a red /5.

I actually like this one more than the red because I think the blue against the black background looks solid. More than the red does.

There are still 6 more to go in the run also including another black one which is still /25 but has like a square type of shape background.

Right now, as I type this, there are no more needs listed so hopefully some will pop up soon. I missed out on the /10 oil spill parallel which stinks, but there are still nine others that may pop up. It's when you miss a 1/1 that is the real kick.

Come back next week for another NEW Rodney's Cardboard! Have a great Sunday!

Cards From Tom

Tom from The Angels, In Order recently was giving away some cards for others to claim.

I have been a long-time reader of his blog and when I saw the post, I had to at least see what he was offering.

I don't claim anything that I cannot use in my collection. I know some people just claim cards to claim cards, but I am not like that (this makes reference towards people on Twitter specifically).

I find cards that fit some part of my PC.
How about a Robin Hood card featuring Morgan Freeman?

Or a Will Scarlett sticker from Robin Hood?

The next three cards I just thought looked cool, so I claimed them.

It still makes them PC.

OG Superman base card. I will always accept cards like this.

And anyone who knows me...knows I....

will always take Batman cards. I mean he is the greatest superhero ever.

Thanks goes out to Tom for his generosity!

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Topps Motif Base Card

Welcome back to a NEW Rodney's Cardboard!

It's been a while, so I have a little bit to catch up on.

Rodney found himself in a few products in 2023 including Select, Topps Composite and Topps Motif.

One of the last products I acquired any new Rodney's from was Motif. They were just really hard to find, not so much overpriced like the Topps Composite ones were.

Which makes me wonder if this product really ever sold at all. So far there have been under fifteen total listings from what I have seen.

Crazy for today's times.

But, fortunately for me, I have landed a few of those including today's base card.
The design, without logos of course, reminds me of a Panini product. Maybe Origins.

Back is kind of bland, very little stats as well.

This is just the beginning of new Rodney's to come. Right now, I would rather be showing off new Rodney's every Sunday then watching the Giants. Their product on the field looks worst then this one.

Thoughts on this Rodney welcomed in comments!

Thanks for stopping by!

Whatever, I Will Take Em

Lately I have been struggling with focus on my collection.

One day, I have been adding NY Giants, the next day I am adding some funky weird insert, the day after that I am trading for 1995 Pro Line Autograph cards or today where I made a move for non-sports and some cards I never thought would interest me.

It's funny how that goes.

And the focus of these non-sport adds was none. I saw cards and traded for them. Presidents are welcomed in my non sport collection as well.

It did start with this Ben Affleck I saw. Not a fan of the Red Sox by any means, but think these short printed Upper Deck cards were pretty cool. And Ben was Batman once.

Aubrey Plaza played April Ludgate on Parks and Rec so this is a pretty cool add.

Along with these other First Pitch adds,

Maybe some day I will gather all of my First Pitch cards and see if I have any sets built or what I need from them.

I think this was one of Topps best inserts in their products for the years they were included. Why do more stupid throwback 86,87,88 and 89 inserts when you can be creative and capture the game of baseball to it's full extent??

Bring them back Fanatics.

Back when Project 2020 and Project70 were popular, I used to complain to no end about them. Now, I kinda like them and have been adding some as I go.

And I did already have one of these Griffeys, but why not add another. I am sure there are another million out there. This card reminds me never to invest in sports cards. This was the one time ever in my life I tried to do so, and it backfired BIG TIME. So, it's a nice reminder every time I see it.

Thanks again to @levy2628 for the trade and looking forward to our next!

In comments, thoughts on today's additions or your thoughts on the Project2020 and Project70 cards welcomed in comments.

My First Soto

As many of you know, I am not much of a baseball card collector anymore. There are only specific things I really chase.

Group 1:
  1. 90's Inserts/Parallels from any team/player as long as the cards are 1995-1999.
  2. Derek Jeter
These Top Two I wouldn't trade away for anything. These are absolute locks for my collection as long as I live.

The next list I collect there is some flexibility on whether I would move them for something I want more.

Group 2:
  1. Mickey Mantle (vintage I would keep)
  2. Jasson Dominguez (as long as he remains a Yankee)
  3. Aaron Judge
  4. New players in a Yankees uniform
  5. Key Rookies
  6. Anything else that catches my eye
My recent trade with @ChrisParksIT brought in some of these cards.

Like my first Soto in a Yankees uniform. He looks so much better with the NY.

Jasson Dominguez rookie card.

Jasson Dominguez Good Vibrations rookie insert.

Aaron Judge To The Moon. I thought from a distance this die-cut insert looked great, it's even better in person especially since there is a shine I didn't notice before. I now need to add the Dominguez version.

I love the look of this one. Of course, I was already a fan of the Spring parallels and I believe this my first Yankee one.

The final card is a Rizzo foilboard parallel.

Thanks again to Chris for the trade and adding my first Yankees Soto among other great cards.

If any of you have a Dominguez To The Moon, let me know!

Rodney's Cardboard:1995 Topps Mystery Refractor With Rare Peel

Happy Sunday to you all!

Who wants to check out the latest Rodney Hampton card addition to my super PC?

You do!! Well, that's good because here it is!

Today's card is a bit of a rare one. You don't find these too often if not at all.

In 1995, Topps included Mystery Finest and Mystery Finest Refractors in their flagship product. With these being a Mystery card, you didn't normally get to see the card or player until you peel off the black covering.

However, my latest Rodney find, it doesn't have the usual black peeling you would find on those cards. Instead, it has the usual Finest Do Not Peel covering. It's a rare unique card and I have no intention of peeling it off.

The back of the card is the same along with the front image and refractor. It's just got the Do Not Peel instead of the black covering which makes this one a one of a kind.

This may be one of the most unique and nicest looking oddballs in my Rodney collection and I am not sure if there will ever be another oddball that will top it.

This card arrived to me at Christmas time thanks to my friend Wes, formally of Area40 blog who found it.

Let me know your thoughts on the card in comments and if you have ever seen one before.

Hope you have had a great day!

The Grady Boxes: Box 3

A few times a year, blog reader and good friend Grady M (@gradyfishinsea), sends me a box full of goodies. He has been doing this for many years since we met on my Facebook page.

These boxes usually consist of my four New York teams, some player collections and so much shiny that I have no other choice but to smile.

I never know what is arriving and what surprises hide within until it arrives. But I do know that it will be fun.

So, when Grady sent me a Christmas box round of cards, I had a hard time waiting until Christmas to open it, but I did.

Inside of the big box it came in, were multiple empty blaster boxes full of treasure.

I thought to myself, how does one post so many cards on a blog without spamming it completely. After much thought, I sat down and decided I would show off some, yes some, of my favorites from each blaster box.

Let's take a peek of what was inside of this 2023 Topps Heritage blaster.

I don't know who Hernandez is or what this parallel is called, but it's super cool.

Well designed soccer card, I don't know the player, but like the look.

This year's MVP in my opinion, he is also a side PC. I like players who are fun to watch.

Two new Juniors!

I don't know what these are called, but I want to chase the set!! Definetely at the very least want the Griffey one! Have any? Drop me an email at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com or comment below!

Donruss Elite had some beautiful parallels this year, but none more stunning than this blue one.

I didn't open any Big League, but it looks like it was a cool product. These Judges may be my favorite ones now.

Well, that does it for Box #3. This series is coming to an end soon, stay tuned for the next box!
