Random Cardboard Of The Day:2024-25 UCL Topps NOW Linkin Park

As a long time fan of this group, once I found out they had a card, I had to have it.

Linkin Park got me through some really rough times back when they first came out. Their music got me through the day and let me scream out in frustration.

The group of course is no longer the same since the passing of Chester Bennington, but I still listen to my old CD's of them when a day is rough and it brings me back good memories.

In The End is a very memorable song for me not only did the lyrics hit for me at the time, but it also makes me think back to my nephew and how I would make him laugh because I knew the lyrics.

What is your favorite Linkin Park song?

Whatever, I Will Take Em

Lately I have been struggling with focus on my collection.

One day, I have been adding NY Giants, the next day I am adding some funky weird insert, the day after that I am trading for 1995 Pro Line Autograph cards or today where I made a move for non-sports and some cards I never thought would interest me.

It's funny how that goes.

And the focus of these non-sport adds was none. I saw cards and traded for them. Presidents are welcomed in my non sport collection as well.

It did start with this Ben Affleck I saw. Not a fan of the Red Sox by any means, but think these short printed Upper Deck cards were pretty cool. And Ben was Batman once.

Aubrey Plaza played April Ludgate on Parks and Rec so this is a pretty cool add.

Along with these other First Pitch adds,

Maybe some day I will gather all of my First Pitch cards and see if I have any sets built or what I need from them.

I think this was one of Topps best inserts in their products for the years they were included. Why do more stupid throwback 86,87,88 and 89 inserts when you can be creative and capture the game of baseball to it's full extent??

Bring them back Fanatics.

Back when Project 2020 and Project70 were popular, I used to complain to no end about them. Now, I kinda like them and have been adding some as I go.

And I did already have one of these Griffeys, but why not add another. I am sure there are another million out there. This card reminds me never to invest in sports cards. This was the one time ever in my life I tried to do so, and it backfired BIG TIME. So, it's a nice reminder every time I see it.

Thanks again to @levy2628 for the trade and looking forward to our next!

In comments, thoughts on today's additions or your thoughts on the Project2020 and Project70 cards welcomed in comments.

The New 20

After a few months of sitting on my Top 20 MOST WANTED list on here and not moving anywhere with a lot of them, I decided it was time to erase some of them and add some new ones to the list. I am also hoping that some of my favorite people, you my readers, will be able to help me in my chase to land some of these.

Here is the new current list that will be posted on the left side of the blog just before this publishes,

1.2010 Bowman Baseball Russell Wilson
2.2020 Bowman Draft Jasson Dominguez
3.Project 2020 #199 Don C Mariano Rivera
4.Project 2020 #383 Don C Derek Jeter
5.2020 Panini Illusions Morten Anderson (Giants) Autograph
6.1998-1999 Sp Authentic Milan Hejduck RC
7.1988 The Real Ghostbusters Ray Stantz Fright Future&Jail Jaw Ghost
8.1991,1992,1994 Starting Lineups Rodney Hampton
9.1998 Contenders Leather Peyton Manning
10.1991 Darkwing Duck Steelbeak Figure
11.2020 Contenders Javon Leake Autograph
12.2020 Contenders Austin Mack Autograph

14.2020 Topps Now Inauguration Jennifer Lopez
15.2020 Topps Now Inauguration Lady Gaga
16.2019 Panini Instant Black Cat
17.1998 Contenders Leather Randy Moss
18,2021 Topps Series 1 Derek Jeter Sp (W.S. Trophy)
19.2021 Donruss Unleashed Ken Griffey Jr
20.Frank Gifford Autograph Card

What Left? Other than a few cards I actually accomplished from the list, the Kyle Schwarber rainbow chase is over. I pulled the Superfractor from 2020 Stadium Club Chrome as you guys saw but I have zero luck in landing or finding anything else to pair with it. It's disappointing since it's the second Super I own and first I pulled. But, I may throw it up on the trade block as plenty of Cubs fans may be interested. I would have to be blown away by a trade offer though.

What's New? I added a couple Project 2020 cards to the list and a couple of Topps Now. The Project 2020 cards have a deeper meaning to me then just being Yankees and the Topps Now ones are for my Non Sport PC.T hen there is also that Black Cat card I have wanted for two years.

And there you have it. I always keep this list up when and if I add any off from it.

My First Topps Now Cards

I have always thought the Topps Now program was an awesome idea and a big money maker. Who wouldn't want captured moments of their favorite players throughout the season??!! My only problem was I didn't have the money to invest into it and missed out on many moments I would have bought if I had the money to.

All of the Aaron Judge cards and even a couple of Ken Griffey Jr's just to name a few. Not sure if I will ever be able to track those down.

But, I can at least now can say I own a few of the Topps Now cards thanks to @SpartyHawkCache
on Twitter whose recent contest I won.

I landed myself three cool Kansas City Royals.

The first one was Eibner's walk off win hit. Love the Gatorade bath here.

The Rally Mantis.

And another good rookie in Merrifield that stepped it up.

A big thanks goes out to@SpartyHawkCache for the awesome Topps Now mail day. They may not be Yankees, Griffey or Judge, but I plan on holding onto them for my PC as I may not see another Topps Now card.

If you haven't followed him yet on Twitter please do so. Loves to talk about the hobby and does many giveaways. One of the hobby good guys.

Thoughts on my first Topps Now cards are welcomed in comments.

2017 Topps Ultimate Card Code Giveaway Results

Yesterday in my2017 Topps Baseball Series 1 review, I had mentioned I pulled a Ultimate Card Giveaway code card version for Topps NOW and would let you know if this cards redemption number would land me my first Topps NOW card. Well, let's see how it went.

If you haven't seen one of these code cards yet, here is what they look like. There are two versions, one for Topps NOW and one for Topps Bunt. I am glad I got the NOW version because as you guys know I don't do digital cards.

So I went to the website that was listed on the card and this is the site that pops up. It gives you a spot to put in the code once you scratch it off...

So I did with my fingers crossed.....

And I was a loser. Still don't have my first Topps NOW card yet.

That's okay though. It was fun just to have the chance.

If I had won, I could had won either some Topps NOW cards or even the whole set according to the site. Bunt versions give you free packs of Bunt.

These code cards are just another part of the huge Topps Ultimate Card giveaway in some of their 2017 products. They will have over 2 million buyback cards with the Rediscover Topps stamp on it and spread them throughout Topps Baseball 2017 Series 1, Topps Heritage Baseball, Bowman Baseball, Topps Baseball 2017 Series 2, Allen & Ginter and 2017 Topps Update Series Baseball.

So what are your thoughts on this buyback program? What do you like and dislike about it? What do you hope to find?
