Cardboard Review:2021 Topps Museum Collection Baseball Master Box

Baseball season is chugging along and so aren't the baseball card releases.

A few products have already dropped this month and none of them excited me more than seeing Museum Collection.

I haven't had a lot of luck with the product in the past, but let's see how it goes this time.

 

In every master box of 2021 Topps Museum Collection, there are 4 mini box packs per master with each one coming with 5 cards and 1 hit. Each master box comes with one of the following:

On-card Autograph
Autograph Relic
Relic
Quad Relic

Each Master Box is $320 or so.

BASE:

The base set is the standard design of Museum Collection, not much has changed in years.

It includes veterans, legends

And rookies of the game. The base set overall is 100 cards.

PARALLELS:

Parallels are found in pretty much every product these days, so even a high end product like Museum has them.

But, unlike a lot of other products there aren't so many offerings. You can find the following, Copper, Sapphire /150, Amethyst /99, Ruby /50, and Emerald 1/1.

INSERTS:

50 cards make up the only insert set in Museum Collection in 2021 Reproduction Canvas Collection. I got a "Big Hurt" with my pull :)

HITS:

The main basis of a high end product like Museum Collection are the hits and there are plenty to find.

And boy did my Master Box start off HOT! Beautiful 3-color swatch of Superstar Fernando Tatis Jr.

Then, it was a drop off from there. At least to me.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

Well, I was feeling good about the start of this break until I opened more than one pack. Haha! Even though I have never faired that well with Museum, I still like the product a lot. Solid design, some amazing hits to be found with a great autograph checklist.

I know most will immediately turn their heads when they see the price point, but this is one of those products I would suggest jumping in on a box break for.

Breakin' Wax:2021 Stadium Club Baseball Blaster Box

I was fortunate enough to walk into Walmart last week and actually find a few things on the shelf. It doesn't happen often as the vendor doesn't put up a lot of stock when they come, but I try to at least find something I want from the rubble.

I didn't have many choices to choose from. 2021 Topps Series 2 blasters, there was three of them, I already acquired what I needed from that so no longer needed it. 2021 Score football, that seems to be the one product I can find and have way too much of. And then there was two blasters of Stadium Club baseball 2021. I grabbed one of those despite reviewing the hobby box already but still was missing the Griffey and Jeter base (I did acquire these after this thanks to my buddy Grady)

Every blaster box of Stadium Club comes with 8 packs of 5 cards. They also come with an oversize, though not that large, Master Photo card.

 

I opened up the blaster and pulled out the packs. I then began to question where the Master Photo was, which was in there unwrapped and tucked off to the side and hidden almost into the box. I wonder how many of those get thrown away by mistake. 

Now onto the rest of the break (I excluded the base and the nameless base rookies),

Triumuirates (was disappointed in these this year with no foil or shine to them)

Stadium Club Greats

Stadium Club Greats Red Foil (think odds were 1:191 packs) of the greatest player in MLB history.

Not too bad for a blaster, I have seen much worse. This Griffey by far was the highlight.

Hopefully I will find some Prizm Draft football the next time I am out. I have been wanting to open some of that but usually anything with the name Prizm in it doesn't last too long.

25 Days Of Cardmas Day 10:Go Yelich On The Mountains

 

I have already mentioned my pure passion for the 2019 Topps Holiday cards, especially it's Sp's, today I will show off the start of my Yelich rainbow cane thanks to @Jake1725, @CardboardSushi, and @NormC61.

The first variation I landed was the Yelich Candy Cane bat. Which to me is the coolest variation of the three I own.

The next one features a Brewers Ornament

While the final, which you can't see that well, is the metallic parallel. 

Seeing these reminds me of the ornaments my parents used to put on our tree. Most were the homemade ones I did at school while a couple others were team oriented with my Dad with the Giants and my mom with her Cowboys ones. Which once again always made for a fun football season with those two at each others throats for those game matchups.

They also used to decorate the tree with plain candy canes like the one that Yelich is using as a bat. We didn't do the fancy flavored ones you see a lot of today.

I am not sure how they decorate their tree now.

Breakin Wax:2019 Topps Holiday Box

I am going to admit something I am not sure I have before on here. I am a Christmas addict. I love the holiday. The feeling it brings. The pure joy. The scents, the tastes and the true meaning of it with the birth of Jesus Christ. He's the meaning for the season.

But, I go all out with decorating. No, not like those people who put up millions of lights or like the house in Christmas Vacation, but enough that people who come over take notice. Not that I wouldn't go big if I could afford the added electric bill.

Everyone comes to expect my Christmas decorations decked out and they also expect it before Thanksgiving, something I have done since I met my wife. It's not a knock on Thanksgiving and not that I am not thankful for everything in my life, it's the fact I love Christmas and it takes me a lot of work to decorate to not enjoy it over a long period of time. I also take my decorations down the day after Christmas. I am not one to prolong to New Years or longer.

So when I saw this years Topps Holiday edition cards, it put me right there in the spirit of Christmas. Past designs didn't cut it for me with the snowflake, but this years designs hit me right in the Christmas gut like my mother in laws french toast bake we eat every year for Christmas.

I was fortunate to hit up my local Walmart right a day after the lady had stocked it and was able to grab one of the first boxes on the shelf.

So, let's check it out.

Each 2019 Topps Holiday box comes with 10 packs and 10 cards per pack.  There is one autograph, one relic or one autograph relic per box. Boxes run just under $25.

The garland/mistletoe border design this year just hit me in all the right spots and then it topped off with a white garland touch around the player really put me in the spirit. As soon as I saw other collectors busting these, I got jealous and had to have it. Probably in the running for my favorite Topps design of the year!

1:2 packs are the metallic parallels. I pulled the expected five.

 And also a rare, 1:20 pack pull of Jose Altuve who likes to stick candy canes in his back pocket like Santa.

My hit of the box was a disappointment. I REALLY WANT A SANTA HAT WORN RELIC!!!. But instead got David Price plain white relic. I do like the design on these as gift boxes.

My Santa hat off to Topps on this product this year. That was money well spent with the joy it brought me opening it. Even my wife had a good time busting packs with me and she isn't usually a baseball card person as she prefers football.

This left me wanting more and I may go back to see if there is anymore before they sell out. We will see. In the meantime, I will enjoy these and if you any of you happen to pull a Santa Hat worn relic and want to trade or donate one to me, I would be grateful.

CARDBOARD REVIEW:2019 Topps Archives Baseball

Just like with Heritage, Topps Archives dig back into time and finds multiple designs from Topps past.

This year we are diving into 1958,1975 and 1993 for designs so this should be fun.

Let 'er rip!

In every box of 2019 Topps Archives you will find 24 packs of 9 cards each. Boxes will include 2 on card autographs and boxes currently run around $80-$85.

BASE:

1993 Design

The base card set is massive with 300 cards to chase. There are 100 cards in each of the years that include players from the past, present and the future of baseball

 1975 Design to me is where it's at! So colorful

INSERTS:

Topps Magazine is back! Well, at least an insert of it. These fall 1:6 packs and have 20 cards to collect. Which I need to find myself the Griffey Jr.

 Ichiro Retrospective had me upside down. Well, just my photo. There are 16 cards to collect in all and fall 1:12 packs. There are also three short prints. Not sure if I got one or not.

These fall one per box with 25 cards to collect celebrating the 50 years of Expos. I wonder how that Tampa Bay team will fair next year in Montreal. Will they bring back the Expos....

THE HITS!

OVERALL THOUGHTS: This product was a fun rip. I enjoyed seeing the players in designs that wouldn't normally be seen and finding Expos cards again. Landing two on-card autographs was fun to especially of players you don't see everyday. For me there was one glaring hole and that's not having a baseball related non sports add in like the last few years. I was disappointed in that.

This is definitely a break for the nostalgic collectors with the players, designs and autographs involved.
