Giant's Sunday: Brent Sent These

It's Sunday and another Game Day for the boys in Blue. Today, the Gmen are on the road after their home beatdown by the Seahawks.

It doesn't get any easier today on the road either as they face one of the league's best teams in the Miami Dolphins.

It could get ugly fast with both sides of the ball playing terrible.

All I can hope is that this guy can get healthy and play this week. They will need him.

I keep waiting for the guys from last year to step up their game as well. Kayvon had a sack last week but otherwise wasn't around. WanDale was probably the best receiver last week but that's not saying much.

It's almost like they forgot about this guy as well. He is a speedster who has decent hands that hasn't even been apart of the offense this season.

Well, what offense they have had.

Okay, enough with my disappointing rant about this season.

Let's just look at some cards.

Always been fond of Landon Collins. Last year's Pick 6 that pretty much secured the Giants playoff spot against the Colts will always stick in my mind as the biggest play for this team since the Manningham catch in Super Bowl 46.

My third Darnay Holmes autograph.

Two relics I didn't have in my Darius Slayton PC. I am thinking some days maybe I need to put my Slayton PC on TCDB as well and see where I rank.

Julian Love autographs. I think Panini liked using this photo a few times.

Another Love autograph, but with a different photo this time.

The X-man is on the roster, but on the practice squad. He hasn't lived up to the hype that was around him for a while. I kept hoping he was going to help this pass rush that needs it.

Well, I am sure I will be watching today's game, maybe covering my eyes by the beginning of the second quarter.

Thanks again to Brent (@Brent3323) for the Giants cards. Even with a lost season, I at least have these cards to enjoy.

I must also note that Brent also sent me some stuff to help me build up a Christmas gift. Great guy!

Single Card Mail Day:2021 Playoff Rookie Wave Red Kadarius Toney

Welcome back to another Playoff Rookie Wave mail day of Kadarius Toney!

Hopefully by now you are not bored with these.

Today's colored parallel took a while to arrive as I am not sure if the seller took forever to ship or is USPS took forever to get it to me. It made me nervous for a little while but it's in hand and all good now.
So here is the red which matches parts of the Giants away uniform. Looks really sharp. You can tell the differences in parallels for these by looking at the sand color.

Back of the card as well which also tells us it's a Prizm parallel.

So far, I have the following, Base, Blue, Die-Cut, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, Gold /10, and Touchdown 1/1.

Here they are all together, and yes, I forgot to showcase the blue on here, but check it out below.
Don't tell me you don't think these look cool whether you are a Giants fan or not.

I actually have at least one more on it's way and more updates to come. If you see any of these I don't have, please let me know. I am hoping for the rainbow, but I never get my hopes up for that.

Thoughts on today's addition and my rainbow beginning is welcomed in comments!

Single Card Mail Day:2021 Playoff Rookie Wave Silver Kadarius Toney

10 Days ago, I posted how I fell in love with this year's 2021 Playoff Rookie Wave and how I was going to chase what I could of them especially in Kadarius Toney form.

Well, today is my latest add to my chase with a few others on their way as I type this. Unless USPS loses it.

The one today I am posting is what I consider the first parallel in the series with a silver. I think the parallels for this set make the design stand out even more.

Back of the card. The only difference between this back and the base back is the word Prizm printed on top of Panini.

So far, I have the following, Base, Blue, Die-Cut, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, Gold /10, and Touchdown 1/1.

I will continue to update this chase as I go.

Thoughts on today's card is welcomed in comments!

More 2021 Playoff Adds

This year's 2021 Playoff football product had six NY Giants in its base card set excluding the rookies. I had already found the first three in Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley and Evan Engram but was missing the final three until today.

After opening a couple of fat packs, I was able to piece the other three together,
Lawrence Taylor who possibly is the greatest defensive player ever.

Darius Slayton who had great chemistry and played amazing his rookie year has dropped off some. Hopefully he will continue to be a Giant and pick up his game this year.

Final card I needed was the Giants big offseason add last year in Kenny Golladay. He didn't quite do what the Gmen had hoped but maybe this year with new coaches and a new look on the offense things will be different.

I am still in need of a couple rookies, all of the inserts and all of the parallels except one card. It's not easy to chase all of them as a team collector but I will chip away what I can when I can.

Thoughts on today's additions welcomed in comments.

Single Card Mail Day:2021 Playoff Rookie Wave Purple Kadarius Toney

Most of today's inserts are very lame in terms of design. I know most of you will agree, especially if you collected as I did in the 90's. There is no comparison.

However, there are moments that today's inserts will shine through and catch my attention. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

The Rookie Wave inserts in this year's Playoff football did just that.

I pulled my first Rookie Wave insert in a blaster box of Playoff, after seeing how great the card looked, I went to look and see if any NY Giants were on the checklist and that's when I found out Kadarius Toney was. I knew right there that I needed it.

Upon further research, I found out that the Rookie Waves also came with the following parallels,
Blue, Die-Cut, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, Gold /10, and Touchdown 1/1. I told myself no more rainbow chases since I can't ever complete it, but here I am today chasing what I can of this card.

This is the purple parallel from the set. You can tell by the purple beach color.

Back of the card is not bad either.

I have a few more of these coming in and will post them all once they are in hand.

For now, your thoughts on this latest add welcomed in comments.

2021 Playoff Adds

The closest the Giants have gotten to the Playoffs in the last six years comes via Panini's Playoff football brand.

Just like with every product, I try my best to add at least one of each card to my collection. I am not a duplicate collector unless it's a specific card.

I am still missing a couple base cards from this product, hopefully will add those soon. Here is what I accumulated so far,

Daniel Jones base

Saquon Barkley Base Card

Kadarius Toney Rookie Card base.

Aaron Robinson Kickoff Parallel. I don't have many cards of Robinson.

I am missing Golladay, LT and Slayton for base. Along with many inserts and parallels.

If you have any that I missing, let me know.

Riding The Rookie Wave

Randomly inserted in packs of 2021 Playoff, was the Rookie Wave insert line.

As soon as I saw one of the cards, I had to see if a Giant existed on the checklist because I was hooked on the design.

On the checklist was Giants rookie WR Kadarius Toney. I knew I had to have it, so just like that I went and got myself a copy. The theme of the card along with the actual wave makes this card attractive to me.

When I found out the card also had parallels, that's when my next chase began. I told myself early on in my chase I wasn't going to do the whole rainbow look as it would probably be expensive to do so, but I did tell myself to chase as many as I can.

So I did.
Silver

Purple

Red

Blue

Pink

Die Cut

All together at this point.

There is also a Gold /10 my buddy @90sNicheFBcard nicely grabbed for me that I will get at some point.

So all that remains is the Touchdown parallel 1/1. I didn't expect to get this close to the rainbow but now that I am there, I have to finish it right?

Thoughts on my chase, the design and if you have build any rainbows recently welcomed in comments.

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Cardboard Review: 2021 Playoff Football (Top 5 Pick Autograph!)

I miss football already, glad there is at least new football card releases rolling out until actual new releases come out. Though it does feel weird opening up a product called playoff after the playoffs.

Yes, so today's rip will be of 2021 Playoff football. Let's see if it goes as great as the 2021 Playoffs did.

Each box of 2021 Playoff football has 12 packs of 8 cards each. There will be three hits (2 autographs and one memorabilia) in each box and each box costs roughly just under $400.

A little steep like most products nowadays.

BASE:
There are 300 cards to collect in the base set of Playoff.

200 of those cards are veterans and each team has a legend.

And there are also 100 rookies. Which I like because it covers more ground and not just the top picks.

PARALELLS:
You can find the following base card parallels in Playoff,
Goal Line, Kickoff, Red Zone, 1st Down /100, 2nd Down /50, 3rd Down /35, 4th Down /25, No Huddle /10, and Touchdown 1/1.

I like the names of these parallels as it covers what football is.
1st Down /100

2nd Down /50

3rd Down /35

4th Down /25

Along with the base set, there is also a chromed silver base called Playoff Plus. I didn't know about this part until I researched the product. I love the playoff even more done this way. There are 100 cards in this set and features some cards from the actual base set checklist.

There are also parallels to this set including,
Blue /50, Red /25, Gold /10, and Black 1/1.
Amari Rodgers was a red /25

INSERTS:
One thing I love but also find odd in this product is the inserts Usually chromed inserts are in a chromed product. Not in this case. A paper base product with chromed inserts is odd but I love the inserts so much, it doesn't bother me as much as it should.

Each insert has the following parallels,
Silver, Blue, Die-Cut, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, Gold /10, and Touchdown 1/1.
Call To Arms has 20 cards to collect and feature the QB's.

Thunder and Lighting...sorry Thunder and Lightning. These combine two of the best players on 20 teams.

Behind The Numbers has 30 cards to collect.

And my favorite insert of them all....
Rookie Wave. Check out these babies!! Absolutely love the design and reminds me of a 90's insert.

HITS:

Turning Pro relic of the top pick Trevor Lawrence

Speaking of a top pick autograph, Kyle Pitts was the 4th pick in the draft. I believe this is the third autograph of his I have pulled this year and the first two I gave away. What should I do with this one.....

And my other autograph is of Christian Barmore.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
I love the product, I just wished the price point wasn't so steep. If this was back in the old days for $125-$150 range, its an absolute want.

The inserts to me still stand out above all else in this product and I am chasing all of the Rookie Waves I can so if you are reading this and have any, send em my way!

Thoughts on this product welcomed in comments and stay tuned for a contest coming up as well!
