No! Not him!

No!!!!!!!!

Not him!!!!

Not our best player!!!!!!

Why Metlife???? Why??

Why did you have to damage our best player..........AGAIN??!!

If you haven't heard yet, the NY Giants best player and upcoming NFL stud Malik Nabers was injured during the win over the Chargers on Sunday tearing his ACL because of the terrible turf at Metlife. The same kind of injury that former star wide out Odell Beckham Jr suffered as well.

And many other Giants.

The Giants have to replace that turf.

They can't keep putting players through this. Especially their young stars like Malik. He was going to have an even bigger role and even more breakout year this year and would have been the weapon that young rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart needed.

Instead, he is out.

So, all I have for now, is memories of what was this season and last season and these recent pickups,

This is a collection I will continue to add to as time goes on.

I hope he comes back fully healthy and ready next season. The Giants will need him. Jaxson Dart will need him.

Let's Talk About Sets Volume 62:2022 Donruss Rookie Sweater Dual Sweaters

Let's talk about sets baby, let's talk about them with me, let's talk about sets!

It's starting to get colder, sure you hope have your sweater out. Or if you are talking sets, I sure hope you have it off....and put into a Panini card.

For the past three years, I have been collecting sets of player's ugly sweaters and have done pretty well with chasing these down.

I have collected both the base and dual sets.

I have completed the 2020 base set, down to two on the dual, missing all of 2021s duals and have only three left for the  base. Then last years I am under ten for the base and down to just to two on the duals after snagging this latest one.

Aidan and Williams on this dual sweater.

All that remains now is Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson dual and the Kenny Pickett and George Pickens dual for me to complete that set.

Then the single ones.

Sets is harder for the single ones since there are so many.

In comments today, let me know if you can lend a hand with my sets needs (yes, that came out totally wrong and on purpose) by messaging me on Twitter or emailing me at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

You can find all of my needs for the 2022 Donruss Rookie Sweaters HERE.

Thanks for any help!!

Giants Cardboard:2021 Donruss Out Of This World Kadarius Toney

It doesn't happen very often, but it does occasionally.

What am I talking about? Well, a card company that nails an insert design to my liking that isn't from the 90's.

Panini did it this year and I just finally got my hands onto one of the cards.

Out Of This World was an insert that fell randomly into packs of 2021 Donruss football. When I saw that Kadarius Toney was on the checklist, it told me I needed it so I went about going to get one.

But, after many attempts to trade for one, I had to give in and grab one off from Burbank Sportcards Beckett Marketplace when it was listed. Such a fun card and money well spent.

When the light hits the card like I tried to capture, the sun, the space lights up.
Back of the card isn't even that bad. It's the front but less sparkly.

Thoughts on my latest addition welcomed in comments along with what insert do you enjoy from now-a-days times.

Collins Haul

Today as I am watching the snow fall, I am dreaming of football season again. Though I would like to enjoy some summer weather first.

So instead, I will find myself living through football cards by taking a look at my latest Kerry Collins additions from Burbank Sportcards Beckett Marketplace.

When I look at knocking down cards on my player want lists, I always tackle 90's inserts first. The numbered, shinier the better.

This card is simple but bold and attractive.

Rookie Stallions. If you look closely, you will see stallions in the foil etching.

Summit only last two years, but it produced some great parallels and a solid looking base set.

Turf Team was a set I had considered chasing, but think I will just grab a few here and there.

The Rookie Rising Inserts though, I am definitely chasing. Panini brought these back for this year's Zenith and made them case hits.

Burbank didn't have a picture of this card, so I had no idea what to expect, but it's even better than I thought. Pacific knew how to make a die cut card.

Spx in the 90's, nothing better than that except EX2000. One card packs of the Spx made it tough to chase your favorite players and especially the gold parallels.

90's parallels will always rule over any that are put out today. The Stadium Club matrix is one of my favorites. I wished I could have captured it better.

The rivalries card is actually a dual card, on the opposite side is Ken Norton Jr.

I can't find any information on these parallels, but they each feature a colored star on the front of them. For some reason they are called bronze and gold redemption respectively. Maybe they were mail in sets.

And the final part of this mail day.

With these 26 new adds, my Collins collection jumps up to 526 cards. There will probably be more incoming soon from my next Burbank order. If you have any for trade or donate, hit me up via email!

Shiny And Numbered

My recent trade with Shane from Cheap Wax Wednesday gave me some shiny and numbered Giants cards.

Up first,
A Kadarius Toney Prestige Pink parallel /50. I started a rainbow chase of these, but then backed off from it. Rainbow chasing is very finicky and unless you are set in your mind of chasing one, then don't bother.

Prince Amukamara green parallel from Bowman Platinum /499. I wished Prince could had proven more for the Gmen, but he had some success afterwards, It seems to be a Giant way of things.

Kyle Lauletta was supposed to be the Eli Manning replacement, so wasn't Davis Webb and so wasn't Daniel Jones. I am not sure when the Giants will find their next QB. It could be Jones still, but almost feels unlikely at this point. I would love to bring in a proven veteran whether that's through Free Agency or trade. Come on Russell Wilson!!

And finally, speaking of QB's, the Giants also went through a really rough dry spell after this guy retired before finding their next Super Bowl winning QB. I must also note, I can't ever say no to a Collectors Edge parallel.

Thanks to Shane for these additions.

Thoughts on my cards today welcomed in comments.

More Toney!

The Giants season never quite panned out nor did their first round stud WR. But, we saw some really big flashes from Kadarius Toney when he was on the field healthy.

So, right now the way I look at it, it's a great time to load up on him while things are cheap. Cheap can be from buying them or by trading for them.

Here are six I picked up in a trade with Nekbone on Twitter who also threw in

this one. I love the gold shine on this card.

Up next, the top card I wanted of Toney,
That originally was found for $20 and I found for $3. I just love the color scheme.

Finally,

My buddy Brent landed me this Rookie Sweater of Toney. The first time a Giant was featured in this set.

I hope to add some more Toneys as I go on but more importantly, I hope the Giants can find a way to right the ship. Football is the only sport I truly watch and enjoy and having to go through this sewage every year is so frustrating!!

Random Cardboard:2021 Optic Preview Holiday Parallel Ian Book

Getting Ready For The Holidays

*takes a sip on this dark dreary rainy day. At least it hasn't really snowed yet...though this is the time of year I enjoy it when it leads up to Christmas.*

Is it just me or does it feel this year Christmas has arrived earlier than usual. Black Friday sales all month, Christmas candy out at the end of October and gift giving commercials on in the middle of October. I love Christmas and all, but, even that's a little extreme for me.

Then of course there are holiday related cards. I haven't seen any Topps Holiday out in the wild, but last week I did find myself in front of a fresh case of 2021 Donruss football holiday I couldn't stay away from. Not because it's Christmas related, but because I haven't found any Donruss or NFL football cards on the shelves in months.

So I was able to grab one as that's all my budget allowed, though I wanted so many more.

*takes a sip, begins to rip*

Each blaster box of 2021 Donruss Holiday cards comes with 88 cards. There is also one Holiday Rookie Sweater card and one holiday Optic Preview card.

Outside of the Holiday Sweater Relic and the Holiday Optic Preview card, the product layout is the same as regular Donruss.

I do wished they had holiday spiced it up some. Add some snowflakes, make the base set red and green borders, anything. Make this a separate product.

Same goes with the inserts.

I would have preferred some holiday themed ones.

How about,
Lighting It Up-cards with Christmas lights as a backdrop
Holiday Special-Red and Green Cracked ice cards
Christmas Vacation-Cards featuring players at the Pro Bowl with Christmas Tree borders

Something among those lines. If you are going to call it Donruss holiday, make it that way.

At least they do have the following two holiday themed cards to find within.
Optic Preview Holiday Parallel. These look great.

Holiday Rookie Sweaters. The only disappointing part about these, they are the same design as last year. I was hoping for a new look especially after completing the set last year.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

This was still a fun rip, but would be more fun if Panini took my advice on this. I like what Topps does with it's holiday product even though they could use some holiday themed inserts as well but they at least do a nice job with the base cards which separates them from the flagship products.

Let me know your thoughts on this product and if you agree that these holiday products should be a separate product from the regular version of it. Would also appreciate what insert names you would come up with.

PACK WARS EPISODE 8

And we are back again, back for another Pack Wars!

I am not sure how long this series will go for as I only have one more battle left in drafts and it doesn't really seem to be much of a hit for readers, so I will decide after the next one whether I will continue these or not.

In the meantime, for those that do enjoy these, let's check out today's battle.

VS

It's a battle of two hanger boxes, 2020 Donruss and 2021 Prestige football.

Let's see what was inside of the Prestige first,

(boo yeah!! I intercepted this one in the pack)

(my first card of his)

Now onto the Donruss break,

I am not sure which box to choose here. A few solid rookies in Donruss but a decent pull from Prestige and a PC card.

Let's hear your thoughts in comments below!
