No! Not him!

No!!!!!!!!

Not him!!!!

Not our best player!!!!!!

Why Metlife???? Why??

Why did you have to damage our best player..........AGAIN??!!

If you haven't heard yet, the NY Giants best player and upcoming NFL stud Malik Nabers was injured during the win over the Chargers on Sunday tearing his ACL because of the terrible turf at Metlife. The same kind of injury that former star wide out Odell Beckham Jr suffered as well.

And many other Giants.

The Giants have to replace that turf.

They can't keep putting players through this. Especially their young stars like Malik. He was going to have an even bigger role and even more breakout year this year and would have been the weapon that young rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart needed.

Instead, he is out.

So, all I have for now, is memories of what was this season and last season and these recent pickups,

This is a collection I will continue to add to as time goes on.

I hope he comes back fully healthy and ready next season. The Giants will need him. Jaxson Dart will need him.

Cards From Dennis

Good Morning Coffee Card loving people!

Before I begin today's post, I wanted to take a second to say that my thoughts and prayers are with the families and community from the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. I can't imagine what they are going through. I hope you all will take a second out as well before you begin to read this post. They could use all of the good thoughts, prayers and vibes we can send them.

*prays*

It's been a long stretch of no mail days and no trades for me so when I saw a surprise in the mail from Dennis from Too Many Verlanders Blog, I knew it would make up for all of the lost time without any.

Every time Dennis sends a mail day, there is usually plenty of excitement involved.

That's why I had to have a full cup of coffee to sip and rip his envelope.

We kick it off with a NEW Eli Manning card. With as many Eli's as I have now and no checklist for anyone to see what I am missing, it's impressive to find any new ones for me.

Coming up next, a few new Kerry Collins cards. I do have a wants/needs list for Kerry that you can find HERE.

I am not sure how they every captured a small video on a card when you move it, but that technology is still top notch even in comparison to today's cards.

Numbered Kerry Collins from Leaf Limited.

And finally, a Donruss Elite Zoning Commision relic. I actually don't have a lot of Collins relic cards in my collection just yet. This will help knock one down I would have needed later on.

Need a sip before I finish up showing off this mail day.

If you grew up in the 90's, you may have heard of Louie Anderson's cartoon Life With Louie which was a cartoon based on his childhood. I don't remember a lot about the cartoon, but I did watch it many times. Louie also did some hilarious stand up, starred on TV shows and was in movies. He also had a voice you would never forget. RIP Louie!

Heath Shuler doesn't mean a lot to my collection in terms of player, but the autograph card from 1995 Pro Line Classic does. At one point I considered to do the crazy chase of that set.....yeah....that would be nuts. That checklist is loaded.

I don't own a dog nor do I want to as I am more of a cat person, but I like these manufactured relics that Upper Deck put out. Fits in my non sport/unique relic collection. Dennis had this card available in his pile of trade bait so I snagged it.

And I also grabbed this dual bat relic of Paul O'Neill and Bernie Williams from that trade bait stack as well. Two of my more favorite Yankees back when I watched more baseball.

Thanks again to Dennis for the cards. I am still working on what to send back.

I think I will enjoy the rest of this cup of coffee before I have to dive into the day and maybe think of something good to eat to go with the rest of us this cup.

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday.

Breakin' Wax:2015 Rookies and Stars Longevity

Football season is approaching fast, so it's only suiting that I start showing off more football cards on here starting today with a break I did last Christmas.

My wife went Black Friday shopping online for me last year looking out for the best deals out there without breaking the bank. Not one box she bought me was even close to $100, actually all were under $50 and all were bought from a place I haven't really paid much attention to before in Steel City Collectibles.

I am missing the box pic for today's post, but imagine a hobby box of football cards that had 5 hits in it all for $35. Yes, it wasn't 2020. Yes, it doesn't have the red hot rookies everyone was looking for. But, it was something to open and it was football cards. Also was a product I hadn't opened which also meant all of the cards were new to me.

So here is what to expect in every 6 pack box with 10 cards per pack.

- On average 5 autographs or memorabilia cards per box
- 12 Longevity Rookies
- 2 Longevity Rookie Team Logo Types
- 2 Longevity Veteran Team Logo Types
- 2 Crusade
- 1 Crusade Rookie
- 1 Longevity Star Studded Die Cuts
- 1 Longevity Progression
- 1 Longevity Rookie Jersey
- 1 Longevity Rookies & Stars Embroidered Patches

Some key rookies,

Parallels,
/299

/299

/299

/25

Inserts with some fun unique die cuts,

Red /99

(huge fan of the crusades)

Now onto the hits,

Only one autograph out of five hits.

Not too bad of a box break. Mariota looked improved for the Raiders and was rumored to be starter for a good portion of the end of last season. But, he will be riding the bench again. Amari Cooper has been playing great every season whether for the Raiders or Cowboys.

A lot of this I used for trade bait already which in return lands me something I want more. So it was a fun bust and helped me land something I need more.

The other boxes I will show off soon. Most likely those will be on over Cards Over Coffee.

CARDBOARD REVIEW:2020 Topps U.S. Olympic&Paralympic

I will admit I am not much of an Olympic watcher, so bare with me on this one.

But, that doesn't mean I don't root on our country participating in the big games and it doesn't mean I don't collect the cardboard from it.

So seeing Topps release another product based on the Olympics was an easy grab. Just like it was in 2016, which by the way, some singles from that set (specifically Simone Biles) go for a decent amount. These cards are nothing to shake off.

Let's see how I did,

In every box of 2020 Topps U.S. Olympic&Paralympic comes with 24 packs of 8 cards per pack. Each box comes with 3 hits, one guaranteed autograph, and boxes run $120 or so.

BASE:

The base set isn't like the regular flagship, which is nice. I like the design on this and think it fits perfectly for what they were aiming for.

There are 76 cards overall in the base set with some athletes getting two cards. It appears early on that the Nyjah Huston base card is going for decent amount.

PARALLELS
Just like in the 2016 inaugural edition of this set, there are parallels.

Here are this years offerings,
Bronze, Silver, US Flag /299, Gold /99, FoilFractor 1/1.
Bronze that falls 1 per pack

Silver that falls 1:4 packs. It was really hard to spot these unless you looked really close

THESE ARE AWESOME. American Flag parallel /299 fall 1:8 packs

I really dig the American Flag parallels, but think the 2016 parallels which were marked by a medal foil were much better.

INSERTS:
When you don't pull a hit, the packs are pretty standard in order. It goes 6 base, one parallel, then an insert or hit at the bottom of the pack. So if you are opening up the product and you are like myself and like surprises, don't ever look at the bottom card first.

Here are the inserts you can find.
New To The Games is exactly what it says. There are 13 of these to collect in the set.

Olympic Heroes celebrates 20 great athletes.

For Pride And Country was my favorite insert design of the group. I think the design is fun and there are 18 cards to collect.

HITS:

My first two hits are relics of fencing Alexander Massilass and of swimmer Ryan Murphy.

Speaking of Ryan Murphy, he was also my autograph hit.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
This was a fun break especially not knowing what to expect from it or what names I would see. I didn't actually even know this product was releasing after being delayed last year.

I think the price point isn't too bad looking at most products today with more than one hit. However, I will say there are quite a few duplicates you will get because of the small base card set.

Let me hear your thoughts on this product in the comments below!
