A Fun Trade Concept

In the world of "values" and worrying about every nickel and dime, it's nice to see someone break outside the box and trade in a unique way I haven't seen before.

Yes, I have seen plenty of mystery trades such as people posting cards to be claimed and you sending back a surprise from their PC list, but to have a trade that is just send back whatever you find equal, is interesting and fun.

I was tagged in this fun trade thread hosted by @tonyaces by a fellow Giants fan that spotted a card he thought I would enjoy. Of course, he was right.

Along with that card, I found a couple more I needed for my collection as well.

I traded off most of my Jasson Dominguez collection regrettably, so I am now trying to rebuild it. This was a great piece to start with. I must also apologize for posting a non-Giants card on here.

I don't know what these parallels are called in Rookies and Stars this year, but they are pretty stunning. This was the card that the fellow Giants fan tagged me for and was the one that started my claims. I was not going to say no to this one regardless of Saquon's future status with the Giants.

And my final claim was this die cut parallel of Daniel Jones. I didn't find much Select, one hanger box last year, so there are lots of Big Blue gaps in my collection.

Thanks goes out to @tonyaces for this fun trade thread and I have got to gather your return cards still. I may have to steal your idea and use it too. I liked it that much.

Thoughts on this form of trading and my newest pickups is welcome in comments!

Breakin' Wax:2021 Chronicles Draft Picks Football Blaster Box

Wait...two boxes of football found in one week.

And this one being amazing and possibly my break of the year? Yup, that happened.
2021 Chronicles Draft Picks football comes with 4 packs of 5 cards which I didn't realize when I paid the $20 for it. So it was a gamble for me with no guarantees other than 3 blaster exclusive pink parallels.

Let's see how I did including kicking it off with this Select Silver of Trevor Lawrence which was a huge hit for retail!

The Lawrence in my first pack alone was worth the break. A second Lawrence was a bonus and the last pack with a Kadarius Toney was just the break sealer for my best break so far this year. That includes hobby.

Let me know your thoughts on Chronicles and this break below in comments.

Breakin' Wax:2015 Rookies and Stars Longevity

Football season is approaching fast, so it's only suiting that I start showing off more football cards on here starting today with a break I did last Christmas.

My wife went Black Friday shopping online for me last year looking out for the best deals out there without breaking the bank. Not one box she bought me was even close to $100, actually all were under $50 and all were bought from a place I haven't really paid much attention to before in Steel City Collectibles.

I am missing the box pic for today's post, but imagine a hobby box of football cards that had 5 hits in it all for $35. Yes, it wasn't 2020. Yes, it doesn't have the red hot rookies everyone was looking for. But, it was something to open and it was football cards. Also was a product I hadn't opened which also meant all of the cards were new to me.

So here is what to expect in every 6 pack box with 10 cards per pack.

- On average 5 autographs or memorabilia cards per box
- 12 Longevity Rookies
- 2 Longevity Rookie Team Logo Types
- 2 Longevity Veteran Team Logo Types
- 2 Crusade
- 1 Crusade Rookie
- 1 Longevity Star Studded Die Cuts
- 1 Longevity Progression
- 1 Longevity Rookie Jersey
- 1 Longevity Rookies & Stars Embroidered Patches

Some key rookies,

Parallels,
/299

/299

/299

/25

Inserts with some fun unique die cuts,

Red /99

(huge fan of the crusades)

Now onto the hits,

Only one autograph out of five hits.

Not too bad of a box break. Mariota looked improved for the Raiders and was rumored to be starter for a good portion of the end of last season. But, he will be riding the bench again. Amari Cooper has been playing great every season whether for the Raiders or Cowboys.

A lot of this I used for trade bait already which in return lands me something I want more. So it was a fun bust and helped me land something I need more.

The other boxes I will show off soon. Most likely those will be on over Cards Over Coffee.

REVIEW:2018 Panini Rookie And Stars Football

One of my yearly favorites since the late 90's, Rookies and Stars is back for 2018 and packing, well, rookies and stars. There is plenty to find in here so let's take a look at what I found in my break.

In every box of 2018 Panini Rookies and Stars football is 6 packs of 10 cards. There will also be 2 autographs and 2 memorabilia cards per box. Boxes are currently running $100.

The base set sticks to what we usually expect from Rookies and Stars. Some form of border and focus on the main player. I think the last few years definitely looks better than that plain while background they ran for a bit.

There are 200 cards in the base set with 100 veterans,

and 100 rookies. It seems to be the most basic base card set build for Panini now. My box lacked a Saquon so if any of you have one to trade or donate, I wouldn't mind accepting it!

As with any product, we see parallels. There are a few in Rookies and Stars but in a box there aren't many. I only found two in mine. True Blue /49 and

a gold of future Giants QB, least I hope so with all of the cards I have of him, numbered to 10 of Kyle Lauletta.

Other parallels to find are, Green, Purple, Red, Longevity /75, Red&Blue /25,Black&Blue #5, Platinum 1/1, and Printing Plates 1/1.

Inserts are plenty and plentiful per pack. Parallels for them include, True Blue /49, Gold /10, and Platinum 1/1.

Action Packed. Why they won't make this into a product again and bring back the embossing is beyond me. I have mentioned it multiple times.

Touchdown Club:

Precision Passers (both rookies and veterans in this insert series)

Standing Ovation:

Star Studded:

Rookie Rush. Lamar Jackson who I am looking for an autograph of. Got one? Let's trade!

Saquon Barkley!!! My first Barkleys from all four boxes of reviews. True Blue parallel as well.

Airborne. These are really cool and I can't wait to see Saquon on this next year. These are printed on the chrome technology and have parallels of Red /99, Pink /85, Purple /65, Orange /35, Gold /10, Green /5, Black 1/1, and Printing Plates 1/1.

Great American Heroes. Once again printed on Chrome technology with parallels of,  Red /99, Pink /85, Purple /65, Orange /35, Gold /10, Green /5, Black 1/1, and Printing Plates 1/1.

There are also Crusade inserts with the chrome technology but I didn't find one in this box. That's one of my favorite Panini inserts lines.

Time for the hits!

Year 1. Rookies and cardboard with memorabilia!

Great American Treasures. He his showing that this season!

This guy is pretty good on that Dallas defense *gag*

And my final hit is this  Great American Heroes /25 of Brian Urlacher.

Other hits not found in my box but could be in yours includes,
  • Airborne Signature
  • Crusade Signatures
  • Dress for Success Autograph Relics
  • Freshman Orientation Autograph Relics
  • Great American Heroes Signatures
  • Statistical Standouts Signatures
  • Stellar Rookies Signatures
  • Cross Training Relics
  • Great American Treasures Relics
  • NFL Authentic Relics
  • Prime Cuts Relics
  • Star Search Relics
  • Team Duals Relics
OVERALL, well, my hits weren't the best until I discovered that Urlacher that saved the box at the end. I loved the chrome inserts especially with their shine. The rest of the product was basic which is what I expected. If you like Rookies and Stars before, you will like it once again.

However, if you don't want to fork out the money, I think for a product like this it's best to stick with a box break and I strongly recommend using Midwest Box Breaks for your breaking needs. They are always hitting the big pulls so if they are currently breaking this, you could put yourself in a good spot.

Please thank Panini America and Tracy Hackler for providing this box for me to review to giveaway some of the hits in my Christmas giveaway!! Please follow them on all social media sites and visit their website for all your card needs, HERE.
