*the sun is out on this morning before the storm starts to creep its way in tonight. Coffee, cards and blogging is on the agenda for now. takes a sip and gets onto the post*

If 100 people were in a room just to simply guess who would be facing off in the Super Bowl this year, I would bet all 100 would be wrong. Not only be wrong, but not have a single one of them even breathe the word Bengals in the conversation. 

However, here we are. Rams vs Bengals.

With the NY Giants playing this year like the bad version of the Little Giants team if not worse, I had a pretty solid list of teams I didn't want to win in the playoff this year.

I had a reason for everyone of them.

• Cowboys-Division rival and can't stand their obnoxious fans
• Eagles-HATED division rival and once again, don't like their obnoxious fans
• Buccaneers- Who really wanted to see Tom Brady win again?? I mean really??
• Packers-Aaron Rodgers is a.........well..... you get the point. It was nice to see him struggle and lose
• Patriots-With or without Tom Brady, I just don't like them

I had a feeling I would have to deal with hating on one of these teams in the Super Bowl, but to my surprise and everyone elses, none of them even made it to the Divisional Championships. So then became the question of....who do I root on?

I chose the Chiefs. Despite how annoying Patrick Mahomes brother can be, Patrick is not. He is a humble Super Star who is fun to watch. He may also be a side PC, but we will talk about that another day. Sadly, the Chiefs didn't pull off the win and the Bengals did. That didn't really affect me too much though, as it's fun to see a team you wouldn't expect in a million lifetimes make it to the big game.

So, for the Super Bowl, I am a Bengals fan. It would be nice to see them finally take home the big one.

I have been holding onto a couple of 2020 football boxes for the right moment and figured what moment is better than Super Bowl time that features rookie cards of the Bengals amazing Quarterback Joe Burrow.

  

The two boxes I had to open was a 2020 Chronicles NFL blaster box and a 2020 Prizm hanger box. I also wanted to point out the new background for these newer photos I will be doing on here. Needs a little tweaking, but they should look cool when I get it right.

The box that had my attention the most was the Prizm hanger, since everyone wants a Prizm rookie of top players. It's THE rookie card to have.

It was a good thought anyways as these were my two best and only rookie finds in the box,

 

Not that either of these guys are bad players, but the last thing you want to find in a "high end" box is two defensive guys.

With luck down on that break, I turned to the Chronicles where a very nice card was found in the first pack,

A Dynagon silver parallel of Joe Burrow.

Rest of the box wasn't to bad either, I found a couple Jalen Hurts, a couple Tua's, and then the other Top QB from 2020,

Justin Herbert.

The Chronicles break went pretty well I would say, and my Burrow hunt actually landed me one. That doesn't happen too often in a post like this.

I think this year's NFL postseason games were the best I have ever seen and here's hoping the biggest game of them all will be just as exciting. Say what you want about other sports and Game 7's etc, the NFL has the best playoff system. You only get one chance to win so you give it your all.

I also apologize to the fans of the teams above I hoped to lose if you are reading this, nothing against you...unless your an Eagles or Cowboys fan...even still....I had my reasons and I am sure you have yours as well for teams you despise.

PACK WARS:EPISODE ONE

Welcome to the very first pack wars! This is a retail battle that can be between two of the same products or two different products. It will involve hanger packs, hanger boxes, blaster boxes and maybe even a mega box.

I will do my best to matchup the products evenly so it can make it a more fair battle. This will also involve battles between sports as well. Sports featured will be baseball, basketball and football.

Today is a battle of two products that usually come out early in the football card season.

So let's see what happens when we have them battle it out.

 VS 

In the battle today is a 2021 Chronicles Hanger Pack vs a 2020 Score Football Hanger Pack.

First up, let's bust open that Score.

 

Score comes with a lot of cards and splits up into four sections with base, parallels, inserts and rookies.

Base cards, I won't show them off unless there was a key player to be seen, but I did want to point out that Boyd photo.

For inserts, we have a Mahomes, Lamar Jackson and Josh Jacobs.

Then we top it off with a Waller and Barrett.

And finish it up with some 3D defenses.

The red parallels brought out a solid hit with a Burrow rookie red.

And finally the rookies bring us another Burrow but not much else.

Now onto the Chronicles pack,

Chronicles is literally just a stack of cards that had no parallels or inserts so it will be judged more by the players.

A Good Apple

 

Twitter hobby is like a bag of apples, you will find the good ones and the bad ones but hoping most of the time that the good ones outweigh the bad.

For me, I have been lucky and found the good batches with a few rotten ones far and few in-between.

One of those good apples, I would say one of those shiny ones, is @Brent3323.

Not only are we passionate about the hobby and what we collect, but we also big Giants fans. Brent has sent me plenty of great Giants cards over the years and we have also made a lot of fun trades in that time as well.

Brent also has a heart of gold and is very generous.

You see that 1/1 printing plate above? Sent me that for my birthday.

This Civil War relic...same.

These two Joe Burrows? Yup. Happy Birthday to me.

Brent is also one of the best people to trade with as well.

I landed some really cool cards for my PC including this pink parallel of Saquon from Mosaic.

This eye dazzling Optic insert of Daniel Jones.

Prizm parallel of Danny Dimes.

Call To Arms silver parallel.

And then came the cards I really had my eye on in this trade.

Saquon was the only base card in Zenith I wanted and have been wanting. Can't believe I actually have it now.

 

Phoenix parallel. The color scheme on this one screams NYG.

 

And here was the biggie, my first Saquon Prizm parallel rookie! It's a thing of beauty!

Breakin' Wax:2020 Playoff Football Blaster Box

Every box of 2020 Playoff football comes with 7 packs of 8 cards per pack. Each box also guarantees one autograph or memorabilia card and each box goes for $20. Don't be fooled by the flippers.

The base card set is built up of 300 cards. The design is okay, I would have rather preferred them leaving off the white squares to reveal more of the action photo.

At the time when I got this in December, I took this picture to point out it was the first card I had seen with the Washington Football Team logo.

Now back to the breakdown of the base set.

It is built up of veterans like Saquon above,

Legends like Steve Largent

And of course rookies like Zack Moss, who was also my best rookie card pull of the box.

There are plenty of parallels to be found as well in Playoff such as Goal Line, Kickoff, Red Zone, 1st Down /99, 2nd Down /49, 3rd Down /25, 4th Down /10, and Touchdown 1/1.

I found two kickoff parallels in my break.

Now onto my favorite part of Playoff, the inserts.

The inserts in Playoff standout with their complete chromed approach. As we all know, with anything Chromed there are parallels.

Playoff offers the following parallels for their inserts, Blue, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, Gold /10, and Touchdown 1/1.

So far, the Burrow parallel was the best find of the blaster. Now onto the hit.

 

Usually these boxes come with relics most of the time, but I lucked out and pulled an autograph of Dezmon Patmon who was a 6th round pick. He only played in one game with no catches.

Not a bad break, the Burrows definitely made the break worth it and finding a couple Giants PC cards helps as well.

BURROWed

If you didn't know, I have been chasing the 2020 Donruss Rookie Sweater set from 2020 Donruss Holiday football. The set has 42, yes 42 sweater relic cards in it and I never thought I would be where I am at this point. I am only 11, well 10 now away from completion thanks to the trade today.

I saw that @DustinJacobs23 had a stack sale going on and had number one overall draft pick Joe Burrow's sweater card up for grabs. But, as always, my funding isn't ever available so I dug in and asked about a trade. He obliged. It doesn't always work when I ask that question, but sometimes you just meet the right person.

 

Not only was the Burrow involved, but we also made a deal for some Giants cards as well.

 

It was overall a quick and easy trade to land this Burrow for my set.

I still have Tua, Herbert and Jefferson left as the toughest ones to chase for my set out of the ten left. Hopefully I can find another trader with what I need and be able to finish up this set.
