2-0

THE NEW YORK STINKIN' KNICKS ARE.....

UP 2 GAMES TO 0 OVER THE MIGHTY CELTICS.

THAT IS ALL.

(mic drop)

(though I know this series is far from over and the Knicks haven't played well at home at all this year)

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Chrome Chase

Hey! It's been a while since the last Rodney's Cardboard, so it's time for another!

This one I have been kind of saving up for a while as you will tell by the photo roll below.

2024 Topps Chrome added Rodney Hampton to its base card lineup and with that alone being said, he has a ton of refractors to chase. Such as 36 of them. It's crazy.

Though I have done really well adding them, there is still a way to go!

Here is an updated picture of what I have so far,

This is a red wave /5 which is my toughest add so far. This one came thanks to a Twitter RAK!

Not only was Rodney added to Topps Chrome, but he is also found in Topps Chrome Sapphire as well. That's a lot of Rodney! Oh, did I mention he is in 2024 Finest as well with autographs? Yeah, this Rodney Hampton collector is excited but knows the challenges ahead. I just missed out on the 1/1 Topps Chrome Sapphire card. Very sad times and it went cheap.

More Rodney to come including my Finest adds next Sunday. Stay tuned!

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Certified Base Autograph /199

I have been trying to find a place to post my Rodney's Cardboard segment.

Big Blue Cardboard, even though is my NY Giants blog, doesn't get the views or the comments to spend the time posting these. Cards Over Coffee is pretty much the same. I had considered doing just a Rodney Hampton blog and posting all of them all over again there but another blog is so much effort and I don't have that effort in me anymore.

However, the one place where Rodney has succeeded the most is here.

So, even though this blog was technically retired, I am bringing back the Rodney's Cardboard segment until I am out of new Rodney's to post.

Which this year may be a little while since there have been a ton of new Rodney releases.

Today continues where I left off on Big Blue Cardboard with displaying my 2023 Certified chase.

Today's card is the base version. This was actually one of the last ones I added as I added the tougher ones first. Much different approach for me this time as I normally start biggest to littlest but found this new approach to be better.

Card back looks the same as the rest in the series. Such a boring backing.

Here is an overall look at the chase in 2023 Certified for Rodney,
Base /199, Bronze /99, Pink /75, Orange /50, Red /35, Blue /30, Teal /25, Gold /15, Purple /10, Green /5, and Black 1/1.

The 1/1 just popped up recently and I have an eye on it. Hopefully I can land it with some assistance from friends.

Here are the cards I have posted so far from this run,

More from this run and others to come. Hope to see you back next Sunday for the next one!

The Grady Boxes: Box 5

A few times a year, blog reader and good friend Grady M (@gradyfishinsea), sends me a box full of goodies. He has been doing this for many years since we met on my Facebook page.

These boxes usually consist of my four New York teams, some player collections and so much shiny that I have no other choice but to smile.

I never know what is arriving and what surprises hide within until it arrives. But I do know that it will be fun.

So, when Grady sent me a Christmas box round of cards, I had a hard time waiting until Christmas to open it, but I did.

Inside of the big box it came in, were multiple empty blaster boxes full of treasure.

I thought to myself, how does one post so many cards on a blog without spamming it completely. After much thought, I sat down and decided I would show off some, yes some, of my favorites from each blaster box.

Let's take a peek of what was inside of this 2023 Topps Allen And Ginter blaster

I kept asking and begging people to trade me the Halloween parallels from this year's Topps Update, but nobody would.  Fortunately, I found some in my Grady box.
(looks like Rod Beck to me)

These are cool, but my favorite ones are the pumpkins, ghosts, cats, etc. If you have any of those from any player, I am interested in trading for them!!

More playing cards! Think I have five of them now for my set chase.

And two new Lamar Jacksons for that side PC. Always excited to add shiny ones.

Well, that does it for the final box in this series.

A big thanks goes out to Grady for his continued generosity to my collection.

The Grady Boxes: Box 1

Let's take a peek of what was inside of this Rookies and Stars blaster.

I don't know what these parallels are called, but I love 'em. I would take all of these that I can.

I think I need to find one in Griffey form. That would be sweet.

I am not sure if Upper Deck just used the same photo twice or if this was in the same product. Either way, two new Griffeys for the PC.

Mahomes! I will continue to take any and all Patrick's I don't have.

I don't know much about soccer, but I saw this parallel and thought it was super cool.

With lack of opening products this year, this card marks my first Aaron Rodgers card in a Jets uniform.

Speaking of NY QB's, Danny Dimes or this year, Danny Hurts. No relation to Jalen. All Giants fans expect this year to be the last straw for him with the Gmen and I expect the same. It's too bad to, last year he played so well. But being hurt often in the biggest position in football is not a great place to be. Not to mention he played terrible when he did play.

And last eye-popping card from this box is of newest Yankee, Juan Soto. So far, the biggest acquisition this offseason for the Yankees. The Dodgers made many other moves. But, I don't think the Yankees are done yet.

Well, that does it for Box #1. There are more to come from this series and some boxes I show off more cards than this.

While I am also at it and have your attention, I wanted to let you know of a new blog in the blogosphere that has some fun daily content especially if you are into vintage cards, especially football. Nuttin’ But The Hits:2022 Prizm football Blaster Box #2

Prizm football is one of my favorite Panini products when it comes to shiny and rookie cards. I think this is THE product and it has shown in the past for both basketball and football if you are looking to have the best rookie card of someone.

So, it's a yearly chase for me trying to add the top rookies to my collection.

Despite the 2022 rookie class being a bit weak, I still was planning to buy some if I found some in the wild and did.....TWICE.

Every blaster box of 2022 Prizm football comes with 6 packs of 4 cards each. Blasters are still a bit steep at $35 each. There are no blaster guarantees.

Here were my rookie card pulls this time. Got a QB, but he will never play and my rookies overall were much weaker than box one. Overall, there are 400 cards in the base set and 100 of them being rookies so it won't be easy to find a top rookie player unless you can afford to buy a ton.

This year, it seems Panini once again upped the Parallels in Prizm. You can find the following parallels,
PRIZMS PARALLELS: Black & Red Checker, Black & White Checker, Blue, Green, Green Ice, Light Blue, Orange Ice, Red, Red Sparkle, Red/White/Blue, Silver, Snakeskin, White Sparkle, Orange /249, Purple Ice /225, Blue Wave /199, Hyper /175, Red Wave /149, Purple /125, Blue Ice /99, Blue Sparkle /96, Green Scope /75, Orange Wave /60, Purple Power /49, Red & Yellow /44, Red Shimmer /35, Blue Shimmer /25, Navy Camo /25, Gold Sparkle /24, Forest Camo /15, Gold /10, Gold Shimmer /10, Green Sparkle /8, Gold Vinyl /5, Green Shimmer /5, Black Finite 1/1, Black Shimmer 1/1.
NO HUDDLE PRIZMS: Base No Huddle, Blue /79, Red /50, Purple /35, Pink /15, Neon Green /5.
PREMIUM BOX SET: Pandora /400, Black Stars 1/1.

Silver Stephon Gilmore.

I believe this is a rookie variation since I don't see a sepia version above in the parallels. Hopefully this guy pans out next season.

Here were my Red, White, Blue parallels. Not as good as box one by any means.

and my one lone insert pull of Skyy Moore, Emergent. Overall, there are 20 cards to collect in the Emergent base insert set.

Overall, this is my last break of Prizm football for this year. It will be cheaper to trade for the key rookies I need.

Thoughts on my break this time welcomed in comments!
