But another thing I do to keep the hobby alive is box up all of my double base cards and basically give them away. Its the only thing I ever sell. And I sell them at Yard Sales. Something I assume we all know of.
I take the double base cards which consist of all teams and sports and I put them into different size boxes. Some are the white count boxes, shoe boxes, shipping boxes. It all depends what kind of boxes I can get my hands onto. I separate them by sport and they are ready to go to other collectors. I charge $1 a box no matter the size. And of course, I do save some aside and give them away as well. I may also take less for a lot of them. The $1, I use back into the hobby to possibly land more doubles and complete the cycle again.
I do know there are a lot of organizations I could probably donate my doubles too, but without a hobby shop, card show, or local places to really pick up cards I like doing it this way as a way to keep the hobby alive locally.
What are some of the things you do to keep the hobby alive? Would enjoy to hear what you guys do as well.
That is a great idea. Way to go guys that is a very classy thing to do.
ReplyDeleteHow cool. I dont get many cards but I have started setting aside some doubles to donate. I sent the Elvis and comic packs I won from you to my cousin for her kids to enjoy. Sort of paying it forward a bit for all your kindness
