Fantastic Finish

And we have finally reached the end of the cubes sent by Wes from Area 40. Today's finale is a three cube break.

First cube topper is this sweet red sparkle parallel. Not sure why Topps stopped doing their parallels like this. They could choose a rainbow of colors and I would want to chase them all!

And Screech. No, not that one from Saved By The Bell. The Mascot of the Nationals. There were tons of Mascot cards in these cubes.

Pope Paul kicks off the inner parts,

Followed by a Frank Thomas Score rookie

Then a 1996 Pinnacle Derek Jeter "rookie". I used to think these were real true rookies, but they are not. Jeter is a 1993 rookie.

First time I have seen one of these 90's parallels from Prism. Early cracked ice? Only 480 of these out there! That's not too many compared to today's bigger numbered stuff.

Michelle Steele relic. I am always looking to add to my non sport PC and even though a sportscaster, it counts.

This one was one of my favorite cards out of all of the cubes. Spectacular looking card all around.

And finally, my first time ever seeing one of these out of the hundred StarQuests I have in hand, this is one of the Rares. I literally have never seen one. Now I own one.

Well that does it. Thanks for this trip with me to see what fun was found in these cubes. Wes could very easily market these things with so much awesomeness inside.

Thanks again Wes for this mail day. I am still blown away by all of it and revisiting it through posts took me back through it all over again and I loved it as much the second time.

Another Baseball Cube

Another day, another cube in the series to be opened.

Today's cube kicks off with this Lance Parrish Smokey The Bear card,

Then comes a new Junior for my PC,

A couple of Tim Lincecum rookies, remember how hot these were in the day?? Same goes for Arrieta. I gotta be honest, I wasn't too excited to hear that CC is back with the Yanks. Dudes fastball is like 80mph now haha. I feel he doesn't have it anymore but Yankees must feel differently.

This dude though was always on. Well, mostly.

Not sure who Frank Lary is, but this is a nice vintage add to my PC. My history of baseball doesn't go any further back than the 80's besides the big names so a lot of guys like this fly under my baseball radar.

Set needs! Two nice ones to cross off. Sorry Shane over at Project Pedro blog, I had to keep this Martinez.

Some autographs. I really like Bud's signature.

Almost as much as I like Charles Johnsons John Hancock.

Bill Gives His Approval

A new week and a new cube to reveal from my big box of fun from my buddy Wes over at Area 40 blog. I can't believe on Christmas Day the legend will be no more on there. But, at least I have him to talk to on Twitter.

This cube kicks off with a great topper, Frank Thomas Topps rookie card.

We dig in and find a Paul O'Neill and Fred McGriff Rated Rookie. Didn't have these.

That then leads to this Fleer Bo Jackson rookie card. Another I didn't have.

Which takes us to this refractor oh wait, reprint rookie card of Stephen Strasburg. I always wonder where this guys ceiling is since he can't stay healthy.

Nice!! Love me a Leaf Fractal Matrix parallel.

Frank Tanana autograph. Honestly, I have no idea who he is but what I do like is his signature and I love adding autographs with verses on them.

A couple of autographs I didn't have and a couple of guys I didn't' know.

However this was a name I knew and needed. Not sure if Wes did this TTM or met him, but this was a great autograph addition to my collection.

Through The Air And On The Ground

We move onto Cube #12 in this series and we head back to the land of the NFL.

Does it get any better than two of the greatest running backs in the NFL to kick off the top of the cube??

Next, we find one of the best runners in the game now, well besides my boy Saquon as I won't give full credit to a Dallas Cowboy player, but Zeke has proved he can take over a game all by himself.This Rookie Introduction is also a well designed card. The 2018 versions look just as good and I need one of that Saquon guy.

The Walter Payton!! Some day I will own his rookie card. It's on my want and bucket list.

Vintage and look at that 49er logo. Very cool.

Roger was one of the Dallas greats. I don't mind holding onto a legend even if he is a Cowboy.

Gridiron Gods is printed on metal and these cards are very heavy unlike a printing plate.

One of my favorite throwers in the 90's, well, let's be honest, there were many.

 A trio of autographs, no big names, but pads my autograph collection some.

 

I hadn't heard of this guy but guess he is a WR for the Miami Dolphins still. He was drafted in the third round of the 2016 draft. Hope he pans out like this Leaf Trinity card did. Very sharp.

We are closing in on the finals of this cube series. What's left to be seen? Well stay tuned to this Bat Channel!

A Mixed Cube Of Everything

The next cube didn't have a specific sport or even two. It has a mix of everything and every piece was a surprise as with all of these cubes that Wes from Area 40 blog put together. That's what makes these so much fun.

This cube kicks off with a coin and Seattle Slew card so I knew this one would be interesting.

The coin, well, that's a Geoff Bodine from Pinnacle Mint. Very cool product.

Next, a Mark McGwire gold karat card. Something common you found a lot of in the 90's.

Speaking of the 90's, I loved this design by Upper Deck adding in the hologram.Maybe this should be another one on my set list. Of course the more I add, the less I complete.

TMNT! We all know I dig these. Wished I had the full base set.

I have never seen these before or heard of the group The Babys. But, I enjoy the oddball non sport issues so I will binder these.

Jose Canseco when he was skinny. Wonder if he ate too many Drakes and that's what really made him the monster hitter he turned out to be....

My first ever Roger Federer card. I like to have a few cards of each sports stars so this is nice add.

A football relic and autograph of Eric Fisher.

And finally, we end it on an awesome note, Fragments Of The Farm. I love this series in Topps with it's unique swatches.
