CARDBOARD REVIEW:2021 Topps Luminaries Baseball

Baseball card season is still in full force even though football is back and has lots of releases flowing out as well.

But, we have some great baseball cards coming up..(dreams of Topps Chrome)

Today, we have Luminaries baseball. A high end risk roller of a one card box. I have opened a few before with not really much luck, maybe 2021 will be different.

In each box of 2021 Luminaries there is one encased card. That is either an autograph or autograph relic. Boxes run about $350-$400 each so it's a big gamble.

Opening up the box reveals this. Who can it be.....

The autograph checklist for this product includes players from past and present. I always hope for a legendary player, unless it's Mike Trout, in a product like this.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

Products like this are risky,but also have huge rewards if the luck falls your way. Though Eloy has shown talent, his value doesn't quite come close to what you pay for the box.

In terms of design and display, I really like it. The silver ink on this card against the dark background it is stunning. A lot of the patch autographs, dual patch autographs and other autographs look just as good if not better.

CARDBOARD REVIEW:2019 Topps Luminaries Baseball

High End products are always fun to see in hand. They can either provide a huge boom or a huge bust. There is no gray line in my opinion which is why it's a gamble.

This is year three of Luminaries and it has worked that way for me. First year, even though I like Bernie Williams, he doesn't quite pay for the box. Last year I landed Nolan Ryan. Let's see how the 2019 break went.

Each of 2019 Topps Luminaries comes with one card. The card is numbered to 15 or less and is an autographed or autographed relic. Boxes run, well, $200.

OVERALL:Great looking card first of all. Quite stunning and that's the way it should be for a high end product. That's actually what I look at first before I judge value. To me value is determined by what player you pull and what they mean to you. To most, it's what you pay vs what you get in return so I always break that down to. For me, I liked Ivan and the many teams he played on. The most memorable for me was his time with the Marlins actually.

Money ways, this was a tough break. It's not very often you say that about pulling a /10 card of a Hall Of Fame catcher but it is. Value wise, he is worth roughly $40 compared to the box price of $200. Like I said, there is no gray area.

However, this product has a significant amount of big pulls. Tons. Trouts, legends, vets, cut signatures and more. There is plenty to gamble on if that's for you.

REVIEW:2018 Topps Luminaries Baseball

Topps Luminaries returns for another year as a single card high end autograph product.

Last year I pulled a Bernie Williams autograph. Not bad if you are a Yankees fan, but not good for the price.

Let's see if 2018 treated me any better. Take a look!
