Nuttin But The HIts:2017 Panini USA Stars And Stripes Baseball

I was recently a lucky pay-it-forward recipient for a box of 2017 Stars and Stripes baseball from my buddy @Jake1725 on Twitter. The box was being given away from @kevinjairaj who has run multiple giveaways and is a fun follow.

 

 

Every box of 2017 Stars and Stripes baseball 5 packs with 8 cards per pack. There are also 5 hits per box if you do the math it's one hit per pack. Boxes are really cheap at $50 each. Panini always has good deal on their baseball products.  

 

This one isn't just junk either. You can find Dansby Swanson, Alex Bregman, and Ken Griffey Jr autographs just to name a few. There is low numbered, printing plates, Autograph Silhouettes, and future stars galore.

 

So let's see how this break went.

 

Up first,  my Longevity pulls. You find one per box.

 

Then came this holofoil parallel of Todd Helton /10. So that's a solid pull even before I get to the hits.

 

Now onto the hits. Not only did I get five, I got two more. 7 hits for $50. 

I didn't recognize any of the names but that's okay. Maybe down the road we all will. All hits are numbered to 499 or less.

 

Sick Patch /25. I always love finding these in packs.

 

Lange was the Cubs #1 2017 pick. The Gorby is a black auto /25.

 

Collins is the White Sox #6 prospect. I like the design on these.

 

 

Pretty solid break in my opinion.

Mail Day Saturday:Matches Made In Heaven Part 1

(I do understand today is not Saturday and I have not been drinking, I have actually never had a drink in my life, but these posts couldn't wait to be shown off with all of my excitement)

You ever just scroll through someones blog or your timeline on Twitter or Facebook and fall in love with a card or two someone is selling? I did. But, for me right now, buying anything isn't really an option and trading I usually only do within my circle.

However, something about these cards spoke to me. I couldn't just let them slip by, I had to inquire if a trade at all was possible even though I know the individual was trying to sell them.

So I began the conversation with @APetrelak on Twitter knowing he was a huge hockey fan and told informed him I had a good amount of hockey items I was looking to trade away. They were 6 pucks and a mini stick all signed by different players with some being top rookies and all being Upper Deck authenticated.

Why did I have all of that available? Well, I have begun trying to condense my collection down to just cards at this point as I feel memorabilia items take up a lot of space and for the most part have spent their time just sitting in totes. No point in having them if you're not enjoying them.

He seemed interested and kept inquiring more info on the items as he didn't usually trade much. The conversations continued and it actually wasn't long til we agreed to a trade. I was so ecstatic I almost dropped my phone when I read his yes response. I knew we had just accomplished a match made in heaven for both of us. He got hockey items he collected and I got a couple of drool worthy baseball cards along with quite a few others.

Before I show the main showcase tomorrow, I am going to show off the rest and build you up. All of the cards I traded for came from 2015 Panini USA Stars And Stripes baseball which I am a big fan of all USA products. The other cards featured in today's post are the freebies he nicely tossed in.

Diamond Kings. Love the design and can't go wrong adding another Swanson.

If you have read my blog, you know I love shiny and chromed things. The fact these are also the sickly designed Crusades, is a bonus. 12 new ones here. Maybe I should look to see how many I actually have in this set since I have busted a few boxes of the product myself. Some good names in here including Frank Thomas.

Believe me, there is more USA to show but you will have to wait til tomorrow to see my home run of an add.

But here are the freebies he nicely tossed in. Some Opening Day including a Servino rookie. Some NYG and some NYR.

Finishing this off is a Joc Pederson rookie from Bowman.

And a pretty cool looking promo card from Leaf. Not something I have ever seen but am happy to add to my 90's PC.

Even though my first break was weak, I decided to give this stuff another go. Great price lured me in.

In every box of 2015 Panini Stars and Stripes baseball is 10 packs with 5 cards per pack. Most of these boxes can be found at $25 and comes with 4, yes 4, hits! You can find Kris Bryant hidden within as well.

And crazy enough, the same autograph I pulled in the first box. This one isn't a parallel however.

Overall, another bleh kinda break but price and hit quantity hooked me in. May be another product I try again. I feel somewhere there has got to be a gem hiding...

Breakin Wax:2015 Panini USA Stars And Stripes Longevity Baseball

I know a lot of people still pass by Panini baseball products, but I don't. I think they look nice, I think they are reasonably priced and I think the hits are waiting to be found.

In every box of 2015 Panini Stars and Stripes baseball is 10 packs with 5 cards per pack. Most of these boxes can be found at $25 and comes with 4, yes 4, hits! You can find Kris Bryant hidden within as well.

Base cards were a bit confusing as you find four Longevity and one regular per pack on average unless a hit is in there. Why not just keep it one way or the other??? Anyways, Russell and Kyle Schwarber were my best of the base.

Longevity Ruby #/199 parallels. They seem hidden unless you are looking close.

Crusades! I still dig these.

My jersey card pulls. Two are Longevity Ruby #/299 or less and one regular.

And my last hit of the box, a Peter O'Brien auto /25. Which is a Sapphire parallel. This guy used to be a Yankee before being traded to the D-Backs for Prado. So I guess it's a partial PC item.

Overall, can't argue for the price. I didn't hit it big but you never know when these guys could make a splash in the MLB. That's the fun of prospecting USA style. I am more than likely giving this one a try again.
