Nuttin’ But The Hits:2022 Prizm football Blaster Box #1

Prizm football is one of my favorite Panini products when it comes to shiny and rookie cards. I think this is THE product and it has shown in the past for both basketball and football if you are looking to have the best rookie card of someone.

So, it's a yearly chase for me trying to add the top rookies to my collection.

Despite the 2022 rookie class being a bit weak, I still was planning to buy some if I found some in the wild and did.

Every blaster box of 2022 Prizm football comes with 6 packs of 4 cards each. Blasters are still a bit steep at $35 each. There are no blaster guarantees.

Here were my rookie card pulls. No QB's and only one decent one with Pierce. Overall, there are 400 cards in the base set and 100 of them being rookies so it won't be easy to find a top rookie player unless you can afford to buy a ton.

This year, it seems Panini once again upped the Parallels in Prizm. You can find the following parallels,
PRIZMS PARALLELS: Black & Red Checker, Black & White Checker, Blue, Green, Green Ice, Light Blue, Orange Ice, Red, Red Sparkle, Red/White/Blue, Silver, Snakeskin, White Sparkle, Orange /249, Purple Ice /225, Blue Wave /199, Hyper /175, Red Wave /149, Purple /125, Blue Ice /99, Blue Sparkle /96, Green Scope /75, Orange Wave /60, Purple Power /49, Red & Yellow /44, Red Shimmer /35, Blue Shimmer /25, Navy Camo /25, Gold Sparkle /24, Forest Camo /15, Gold /10, Gold Shimmer /10, Green Sparkle /8, Gold Vinyl /5, Green Shimmer /5, Black Finite 1/1, Black Shimmer 1/1.
NO HUDDLE PRIZMS: Base No Huddle, Blue /79, Red /50, Purple /35, Pink /15, Neon Green /5.
PREMIUM BOX SET: Pandora /400, Black Stars 1/1.

I pulled a silver of Mariota.

My Red, White and Blue finds which are blaster box finds. James Cook highlighting the group.

and my one lone insert pull of Chris Olave, Emergent. Overall, there are 20 cards to collect in the Emergent base insert set.

Overall, not that great of a break but still a couple of decent card finds.

Let me know your thoughts on my break and Prizm overall.

Breaking 90's:1998 Topps Chrome Football Pack Break

Well, my obsession with ripping 90's packs came to a all-time high when I was able to rip a pack of 1998 Topps Chrome football. Probably one of the most sought after Topps Chrome football products because of it's rookie class. You have Randy Moss, Charles Woodson, Fred Taylor and of course Ryan Leaf. Ooops, I mean Peyton Manning. I think the Chargers were thinking the same thing.

Don't be fooled by the pack price of $2.99 on here. They don't go for that anymore. I landed mine for $10.99 which is a high gamble to me for 4 cards but it was a time traveling risk I was willing to take. Did it pay off or get my money back? Well you can be the judge of that...

Neil O'Donnell

Darnay Scott

Herman Moore

And a little bit of boom in this pack. Refractor!! Only two per box and I found one in a pack. Stoked!!

You can see the word refractor by the card number on the back. Vanover didn't really pan out but I think it's a great pull still.

Overall I was happy to spend the money on this pack. Brought back some memories of my father and I ripping tons of it and I got a refractor.

Also this is the start of my set chase as well. I do have a Peyton already so I knocked the big one out. Now just need the rest of the set which you can find my set needs on this link, 1998.

Nuttin But The Hits: 2018 Contenders Football Hobby Box (6 Hits!)

During the AFC and NFC divisional games last weekend, Panini hosted it's popular #PaniniWildCard promotion once again with prizes galore! It had been some time since they last did this contest, back in the day it was a lot of fun, so I kept track to see how to enter and the prizes.

To enter you had to shoot a selfie of yourself with your favorite 2018 Panini card. I don't post selfies anywhere, except occasionally Facebook, and decided I wasn't going to do it. Then I found a mask I had lying around and said, why not try it with that on in hopes that my entry would count. Well, it did and I was the very first winner. The prizes, well, 2018 Contenders hobby boxes and one person would win a Drew Brees autograph if they could get the most RT's. I would have been happy with the Brees as he is on my want list, but I really wanted a box of Contenders which is my favorite product year in and year out.

I love the rookie tickets and was hoping I would finally have some luck with Contenders a product that I always hoped for a promising finish that ended up always disappointing. I saw other winners from the contests that lasted both days pull Lamar Jackson auto, Baker Mayfield auto and even a Antonio Brown autograph. So I was hoping that they left a Saquon for me.

Instead I was left hanging with Contenders once again.

Box with all of this years rookie studs on it.

A damaged base card. Hopefully I wasn't going for the set

Need the Saquon version of this.

Need the NY Giants version of this card. Pretty cool looking.

Need the Saquon base version of this. Of course I would take the parallels to. I got Gallup with an eBay 1/1 with 1/49.

Now onto the hits which included a bonus one!
Tanner Lee. He is #3 on the Jaguars depth chart. Maybe has a shot next year. I will hold onto this for now just in case.

Billy Price. Nice autograph but an offensive lineman which is offensive to this box. However, I do like how Panini includes more athletes autos in this product.

Braxton Berrios who plays for a good team is also not playing on the IR. ouch. Maybe next year?

Chase Edmonds is another guy I will keep an eye on down the road. He had 208 rushing yards and two TD's in 2018. This 4th round draft pick will find it hard to find a lot of time on the field being behind David Johnson.

PANINI POINTS. GRRRRRR.

And my final hit was the best of the box and one I will hold onto for awhile. No plans of trading it off with possible potential here. This is Nyheim Hines who was a 4th round pick of the Colts. This is also a Ticket Stub parallel /49 as you can tell by the top of the card which I think is a pretty lame parallel lol. But, it does fit the theme. He had a decent season both rushing for 314 yards while also pulling in 425 receiving. Could be someone to watch next year especially if he gets more time to play.

Overall this was a sad, sad box for a $200. Luckily I won it and didn't pay for it as that would have blown my top off. The best card was the last one and even that card isn't going for much. Not that cards to me are about money and value.

Thoughts on my box break are welcomed below!

Nuttin But The Hits:2018 Panini Prizm Football Blaster Box

With Topps no longer in the football business, I must turn my sights to Prizm to replace the empty feeling in my heart left by the departure of Topps Chrome.

I try to get some every year in some form or another. This year football cards have meant even more to me with the Giants having the best rookie in the draft so I NEEDED to get his Prizm cards. So I went blaster box in my first break. Not sure if there will be more breaks of it or not depending on my finances, but I at least opened one.

Let's see how I did.
2018 Panini Prizm boxes come with 6 packs  of four cards. You will find one hit either an autograph or memorabilia card. I guarantee you that 9 times out of 10 you will find a memorabilia card. That's just how retail works.

I knocked down two Giants right off the back with Odell and Shepard.

But, failed to find the Saquon I desperately seeked. Kerryon Johnson was a nice find however. He has played well for the poor Lions. I remember another running back who did as well....

Instant Impact Dante Pettis. Very colorful!

These parallels are insane! So cool looking. Wished I had gotten Saquon or a Giant, but I did okay especially finding a Zeke. I know a Cowboys fan who may enjoy that.

And my hit, as a KNEW it would be, a Prizm jersey card. this one of KeKe Coutee who has looked good at times for the Texans.
So there you have it. I came Saquon-less in my break but I think overall it was fun and that's what matters most. I will say it didn't take me long after this break to seek out a Prizm Saquon and find one. That post to come at a later date.

Your thoughts on my break are welcomed below!

Nuttin' But The Hits:2018 Topps Chrome Baseball Blaster Box

Every year when Topps Chrome releases, I always make sure to snag up some extra. It's by the far the best retail buy out there and one of the most popular products among collectors.

I have seen so many autograph pulls, including two by my father in retail blaster boxes that I figured why not give it a shot.

I just didn't have the luck others have that's all.
Every blaster box comes with 7 packs of 4 cards with one bonus pack, an 8th one, all with sepia refractors. Each blaster is $19.99.

I found this Judge base for my PC I needed so that was a good start.

Rookie cards I found. Not the strongest group of players. I think O'Neill highlights the group.

My first refractor was Yoan Moncada

Next was Corey Kluber.

After was Addison Russell and it was a Prism one.

My insert finds were these. I have two of that Stanton now.

And the Sepia pack had these guys. Nothing impressive at all besides the refractors.
Overall, not my best Topps Chrome break but at least I added some refractors. Always love adding shiny things.

I am not sure if my journey of busting Topps Chrome has come to an end after one blaster and one hobby, but we will see. So far my luck with Chrome is 0 for 2 but I still love opening the stuff up.

Nuttin' But The Hits:2018 Prestige Football Rack Pack

There are some stand-by products I always buy on a yearly basis for football. One is Score and another is Prestige. Both are must haves every year and both came from the best era of collecting for me, the 90's.

So my wife who knows of my Barkley search went and snagged me one of these when they first came out. Let's see how it goes.

Each rack pack of 2018 Prestige football comes with 30 cards. There are some exclusive rookie xtra points purple and blue in each rack so I know what my aim was for in this. Packs are $5.

My very first Eli Manning addition from the base set. Nice pickup before the season soon begins. Weird design this year for Prestige but I kind of like it. Much more action packed than the usual white or colored background that's player focused.

My rookies from the pack. ALL ARE TERRIBLE. So disappointed.

My purple parallels. Bleh.

Inserts. Hopkins is a good name.

Nice looking card right here despite my hate of the featured player.

And finally, 2018 NFL Passport. I always like these. This and the Brady best of the box.

Overall, not the best break in the world. Went Barkley-less in this break as well. I really was hoping to land one decent rookie from the break but I haven't heard of any of those guys. Not sure if I will go back again and break another one of these or try to locate myself a blaster or hanger box next time which hopefully would give me better results.

Nuttin' But The Hits:2017 Donruss Football Blaster Box

My 2017 rookie card collection for football is as weak as it gets. So when I found a markdown blaster box of Donruss I scooped it up.

Not only did I scoop it up for hopefully rookie card help, but I am a fan of the product line. So let's take a look at how I did.

**for some reason my blaster box picture didn't upload so all I have to tell you is that each box marked down was $15 roughly and came with one hit and one parallel**

My Giants from the box.

Rated Rookies from the box. Got a huge one with Watson, my very first rookie card of his.

Joe Williams Press Proof parallel.

Eli Manning Legends Of The Fall. The Diamond King of the NFL. I really like the look of the card.

Von Miller Up Tempo insert.

And the promised hit of the box isn't too shabby, a Leonard Fournette relic. I still need his rookie card however. So if you got one, let me know!

Pretty solid break for what I paid for it. I was pretty happy with the results. Much happier than I was with the Score blaster box I showed off recently. I picked up both of these the same day.

Nuttin' But The Hits:2018 Score Football Blaster Box

Not too long ago, I posted a Nuttin But The Hits edition of Score with a rack pack. I said I wasn't done yet with Score and here comes round 2!

This time I go blaster box style with one guaranteed hit. Will it be a Saquon autograph? Well, let's break it.

Each blaster box of 2018 Score football comes with 11 packs of 12 cards each. You will find one auto or memorabilia card per box. 9.5/10 times that's gonna be a relic. Lots of cards however for your $20.

Some Gmen I found.

Key rookies from my box including Rudolph, Penny and Chubb

Parallels including a Jack Rabbit one. Great card for the PC

Inserts. It appears inserts have parallels like times past.

And my one hit...drum roll....

Nelson Agholor! Perfect. Great fit for my Giants PC :-/

Overall hit-wise not good, but did pull some rookie cards I needed and some big named players in the inserts. I still did not find a single Barkley card in this break so guess that means I will need to do another one.

Will the next one hold a Barkley card? You will have to wait and see!
