MMMB:Mail Day's Galore To Kick Off The New Year!

 

2020 has officially ended, what does that mean for this blog, some changes.

As you have already seen, I changed the face of this blog, name, added some new segments and updated a Top 15 Want List on the left side. I feel this is the best this blog has looked in years and plan to keep it this way. I do hope that you all like it as much as I do.

Today's post is a new segment that I am using to recap all of my mail days instead of doing a few cards at a time per day. It's called Monday Morning Mail Bag or in short, MMMB.

First up, my winnings from The View From The Third Floor who held some Halloween giveaways and I have been slacking in posting of my wonderful prize winning.

My PWE was loaded full of big names of the NFL, most of which I use in my by-player boxes I sort out.

These cards will pad those collections nicely. And no, these aren't the real cards, they are reprints but great looking reprints.

Up next, I have been doing so many PWE trades that I ate through a book+ of stamps for on Twitter.

This trade mail day was from Matt's Cards on Twitter. Great guy and easy to trade with. My favorite card was this Harry Carson from this trade. Cool design and relic.  I didn't have memorabilia card of him before so this is all new to me!

My next trade had a bonus surprise card in it.

 

First up a Danny Dimes rookie year card I didn't have along with a Ximines rookie and Nate Solder Xtra points parallel.

Followed by an Aaron Judge parallel from Stadium Club

Miguel Andujar who I wished had more opportunities with the Yanks.

And Garrett Cooper. Not a name I am familiar with, but I also don't watch baseball as much as I used to either.

The surprise of the package was this Ozzie Newsome relic that will tie in really well with the autograph of him I landed in a Mega Box of Prestige I opened. I have been trying to tie together a relic and autograph of each Hall Of Famer autograph I have. It's a fun challenge. Some I only have the relic for so far such as Tom Brady who may be the most elusive autograph I need and most likely will never land.

The final card, an Evan Engram rookie auto "patch" I landed from @anthonyscards

I really like the look of these, well other than the small patch circle. I think a square would have looked better. But overall, solid design and I made sure not to drop it. Sorry, Evan that was a low blow for a Pro Bowl player. (once again I will never get how he made it)

Too Hot To Handle

It's been two years since @oriolesrise and myself pulled off a trade and after seeing a few tweets from him recently, I knew the next was coming.

It was a simple tag of a Rodney Hampton item that helped me uncover so much more I may have usually missed on his Twitter account. I sometimes will miss lots of stuff on there from gaps of not being on for hours at a time. But, I am glad I didn't miss this one.

He had bought an Auction House lot with tons of NY Giants included and there was so many signatures I needed for my collection, I jumped on trying to make a deal. And a deal was made. Cliff is very easy to work with on trades and that's great when you can make both parties happy.

I have been wanting a Fassel autograph for years. He led the Giants to the Super Bowl in 2000 but got butt whooping from that Ravens defense.

And yes, this was the conversation piece that started it all. I was just going to trade for this, but when I saw the rest, had to make that happen. But this piece will be an excellent add for my Hampton PC.

 Most of the Super Bowl 42 squad. Well, minus the big stars.

Bill Parcells among a couple other signatures. This is a 1983 media guide which is before Parcells led them to Super Bowl wins. Makes it a really nice piece for my collection.

Thanks to Cliff for the great trade and the new adds. Now I just gotta find a way to display all of it without having any of the autographs fade over time. I must also add that Cliff sent along a surprise few Griffey Jr items as well that I will post another time.

Pieces Of My Future #5: Bryan Sends Even More

Here comes the next part of my trade mail day from @90sNicheFBCard. The rest of the mail day will be strewn about on here in a variety of ways as I mentioned in the first part.

Today I am showing off the hits from my trade and there was plenty of 'em.

 Paul Perkins rookie relic. Impressive enough, this guy still remains on the roster. Gets me?

 New Eli relic.

Evan Engram has a bright future and could be a big part of the offense next year as the weapons aren't what they once were.

Greg Jones didn't last on the team too long that was starving for some Linebackers, but he at least has a really nice signature.

 Eli Manning Seal Of Approval. I think Black Gold is one of Panini's best looking products.

Andre Brown put up a couple solid seasons and this card was once on fire. Than he came back down to earth and well...now I own my second copy. This one is better than my other.

Another Perkins relic, this time with an autograph. What makes this card though is the F on the football swatch.

Wayne Gallman auto with two color swatch. This also marks one of just a few National Treasure cards I own.

 Micro Etching with auto, yes please!

The face of the Giants WR's now, Sterling Shepard. Of course his rookie contract deal is up very soon. What will the Gmen do with him? I hope he stays.

Harry Carson was a beast and has a great looking signature as well. Knock this one off from the Giants Autograph project.

Jessie Palmer, good lookin' fella but didn't have many great looks on the field. My first signature of him and I have always been a Spx fan as many of you know.

Newest Saquon relic card. I should post my whole PC on here sometime.

 

And we finish it up with an awesome Winning Materials dual relic of the greatest MLB player with the greatest swing ever, Griffey Jr.

REVIEW:2018 Select Football Box 2

Box one was pretty successful if you ask me, now let's get onto Box two to see if we can have two times the luck!

In every box of 2018 Select football there are 12 packs of 5 cards each. Each box comes with three hits including autographs and memorabilia cards. There is also plenty of shiny color to chase as well. Boxes currently run just under $200.

Here is an overall look at the parallels you can find for the base cards in the product,

Concourse Prizms

Repeat from box one. Hmmm. Sensations.

Now onto the hits. All look amazing with this chromed technology but when you pull the prizm parallels of them even more so. I didn't find a Rodney Hampton in my box, but still hit a pretty cool one.

All hits have parallels to. No surprises here.

Select Swatches. These have White /149. Copper /99, Tie-Dye /25, Gold /10, Green /5, and Black 1/1. This time Giants legend, Harry Carson!

Rookie Signatures. Christian Kirk could have a future with the Cardinals and learning under Fitz will be a good thing.

OVERALL: Box cost is high, but there is a lot of potentially big time hits to find. I think if you want to gamble, gamble on this product. Great looking from base to parallels to hits. And I have seen some amazing patches being pulled. Not to mention, land a Rodney auto and trade it my way.

If you can't afford a full box, try buying a few packs to try or get into a box break. That will probably be the most affordable way to enjoy it.

I strongly recommend using Midwest Box Breaks for your breaking needs. They are always hitting the big pulls so if they are breaking this, you could put yourself in a good spot. They also SHIP ALL CARDS! Get what you pay for!
