It's Those Resolutions Again

If you are reading this, you are probably thinking to yourself, "great, another New Years list of resolutions for the hobby" and I can confirm you are right.

I mean, it is the first post of the New Year and it's being posted on New Years Day. What else would be posted?

Last year, I set no resolutions for my hobby self and found myself actually lost. I think I needed the goals. I needed something to cross off to feel accomplished.

So, this year I am bringing them back and there are many to do. I may need to also check in throughout the year to make sure I am staying on task.

I need you guys to keep my accountable!!!

Without further ado or rambling, let's see this year's goals,
  1. Sort out all of the Christmas cards. There were many, it will take a while to do this.
  2. Do a PC count on Ken Griffey Jr. I am a man of numbers; I need to see where I am at with it.
  3. Grow my Ken Griffey Jr PC even more. It's been a while, it's time to return to my glory days.
  4. Continue to grow my Eli Manning PC. First, I need the three cards to reach 1K.
  5. Sort, organize my rookie card box by player so I can find things easier.
  6. Write down my set numbers and update it all on here.
  7. Update my Want List on here.
  8. Complete my 2023 Rodney Hampton Certified Rainbow.
  9. Continue to add to my Marvel Movie PC especially the Purple PMG's, then binder it all.
  10. Trade with bloggers more. If any of you are interested, let me know!
  11. Blog Post on here more consistently!!!
  12. Comment on more blogs instead of just reading them.
  13. Number count my NY Giants PC overall.
  14. Continue my numbering binder system. Only about halfway through.
  15. Sort my non-sport base cards better. They are all just thrown into a box.
  16. Clean up my card area.
  17. Keep up with my Beckett articles.
There are some easy goals and some lofty ones to chase. Hopefully I can complete all before the year ends. There will be recap post at year's end to show how far I accomplished.

In comments, let me know what some of your resolutions are for the hobby this year.

Hope all of you have a safe, Happy New Year!

New Year, New List Of Things To Do

Happy New Year!

It's another year and another year to make a list of things I hope to accomplish. Key words, I hope.

With most of my extra time being soaked up into blogging last year, I hope this year I can take a step back and spend some time with my actual hobby instead of just typing about it.

Here are some of the things I need, NEED, to accomplish in my collection,
  1. Sort out ALL of the cards I got in 2021 by what they are. My collection is sorted by teams for each sport for base, top players are pulled for each sport and sorted by player, non sports, NY Giants, NY Yankees, Rookies for each sport by team, Inserts by team for each sport, and then hits are sorted by team, by sport. This will be a VERY long project.
  2. After completing number one, I will need to put all of that away.
  3. After completing number one step, I will need to update my NY Giants collection and player collections.
  4. My need to add up my Ken Griffey Jr collection PC numbers and find all of my Ken Griffey Jr stuff I added to totes. UGH!!
  5. Clean up some of my boxes by moving players into binders
  6. I am forgetting something....
As you can see, this will at least take the year to complete. I have a feeling the blog will prevent me from finishing most of this up again, I just need to focus and get it done.

But, I also have some things for blogging to accomplish as well. Hoping to get the hobby ones done with first, however, there are many things on here to do as well,
  1. Cut back so I can accomplish my collection
  2. Try to once again figure out my blogging three-some and what I need to do with each blog.
  3. Clean up all three blogs
  4. Take A LOT of pictures to show off what my Christmas hauls were.
  5. Get creative again and stop rushing posts to get a post done
  6. Redo the look of the blog, layout, etc.
When it comes to life, my biggest goal in 2022 is to lose weight. I have to do it with being pre-diabetic so I don't become fully diabetic.

In comments, let me hear what some of your goals are for 2022. Hope everyone has a safe, healthy, Happy New Year!

The Week In Pictures: New Years

This week in pictures is brought to you by a beautiful sunrise.

How can your week not kick off any better then seeing this sunrise when you wake up? The dusting of snow that we got after Christmas only helps solidify how amazing this sunrise looks.

I get quite a few beautiful sites like this throughout the week especially during the winter.

Today's pictures recaps New Years week. That's probably how this segment will work is featuring a weeks prior of pictures, but I am not planning on making any name changes to this segment.

Last week also marked a week of colder temperatures, maybe not as cold as it usually is this time of year but cold enough where it got your attention when you walked outside.

I snapped this picture of the brook at the end of my road. You can see some of the ice chunks in the water from the cold temps.

On my road also is this tree that still has leaves on it despite the cold temps and wind that picked up on Wednesday of last week. They are dead but have not fallen off. I don't expect it to last this way much longer but it could surprise me.

The end of the week I spent my New Years Eve like I usually do, at home and with an early bedtime. I haven't watched the ball drop in over 10 years. I just feel like there is no point of doing so and that I could always wake up the next day to celebrate the New Year.

I did enjoy some solid pizza however. You can't see it from this picture but those slices of pepperoni must have come off from a dinosaur as they were huge.

When I picked up the pizza, I snapped this cool shot outside the building. The moon was hiding behind the dark clouds leaving it as an eerie last scene of 2020 for me.

I hope all of you had a great New Years week and let's pray for a better for a 2021!

Hobby Resolutions 2017

It's that time of year again, time to make New Years resolutions. Hopefully some that I can stick to, at least hobby wise even though weight loss is always on the top of everyone's regular list no matter your shape and size. So that may be on top of my regular one............again.

Anyways, here is my "I hope to stick to and focus on" Hobby Resolutions of 2017.
  1. Finish my Seasons 5-8 Psych Autograph set (this is the top of list knowing how close I am)
  2. Add more cards to my Griffey collection, at least 100
  3. Add more cards to my Hampton collection, at least 50
  4. Continue posting once a day on here with some new ideas mixed in
  5. Get my HUGE box sorting project complete
  6. Sort my binders or start to
  7. Highlight and complete my Griffey checklist
And that's gotta be it. That alone is a lot to tackle and I hope I can stick to it.
What are some of your hobby resolutions for 2017?
