This blog post series is about unraveling unsolved mysteries from a card lot my mother-in-law bought me from an estate sale. What you are about to see isn't a breaking news broadcast or some new releases. There is a lot to go through here so whenever possible, I will try to condense down some of the graphics and whenever possible, real cards from the actual lot (well all of them are from the actual lot but let's have some fun with it) will be used for pictures.
Someone, somewhere can help me uncover the mysteries within this lot. Let's take a look and maybe one of you, will help me solve some mysteries.
*insert creepy music and theme song*
The location is still completely unknown where my Mother In Law went to grab this lot of sports cards other than it was a Estate Sale. Belief is, it was somewhere isolated as nobody grabbed them before she did. It may be the only explanation on why someone wouldn't have grabbed this lot before she showed up three hours after it started. Or maybe it was because the cards were more than they were expecting? Or was it a government conspiracy? I guess we will have to tune in to today's round and maybe you can help solve this mystery.
Today marks the season finale of Unsolved Mysteries as we have reached the final part of the lot my mother in law bought. But, like with all season finales, there is always something exciting to see. So let's unravel a mystery.
The GOAT. I think I needed both of these
Clyde seems scared in this photo, but why...
Who leaves a Steve Francis refractor behind? Who leaves behind a refractor in general.....
Doug had a few marks left on him. Scratches, scrapes on the card. Why.....
Randomly tossed in numbered gold cards.....
USA Pride thrown into a yard sale box leads to many suspicions...
Ken Griffey Jr's that were all knew. It appears that maybe I was a target in this lot.
This was a mysterious find for sure. However, the biggest mystery is why someone left it in a box where it got stuck like a brick in a stack of cards causing some minor damage to it. Poor Albert....
Names like Kobe
And Duncan just left behind. How can you leave behind inserts like this?
And why wouldn't have you turned in this redemption and wonder if Upper Deck would still honor it?
Dale Jr die cut insert from Press Pass
Bobby Labonte. the only card of him in the whole lot
Another Dale Jr...
Michael is creepingly looking at this firesuit swatch. Something isn't right on this card.
A couple of randomly found baseball jersey cards.
Henry Ellard from a set I didn't see one card of in the lot. Great signature but where did you come from...
Ryan Newman appears to be afraid of his swatch...so question is..why
With so many Dale Sr cards, was this guy a collector of him? did he hold up three fingers on lap three? I didn't call this unsolved mysteries for nothing.
If Press Pass made beautiful cards like this and much better looking ones than the market has now, how did they fail and have to get done?
This does it for Episode five the season finale of Unsolved Mysteries. There is a lot of unexplained findings here with even more mysteries to unravel. Tune in next time for a possible new season and Perhaps YOU, can help solve a mystery.

Today's mysterious unraveling is all based on this one Monteal Expost magazine from 1994 that was found in a plastic pocket for protection in the back of the binder in the lot. Like it was being hidden. But from whom?
It was the only magazine found in the lot and it was mysteriously signed on the front by two individuals. One name could be read as Ken Hill who had his best career year in 1994 making the All Star game and being the NL Wins Leader. That alone was mysterious that the magazine matches the same year he had his best career. Hmmmm.
The other autograph at the top was a bit harder to make out especially with the blue ink.
That's when we dig deeper into the evidence inside of the magazine where some cards were found.
Hmmm....here it is. Cliff Floyd was the other one. It's sometimes is a mystery to remember the players that played for the Expos. Makes you wonder what could have been if they had kept them all? A pitching staff led by Pedro Martinez and Randy Johnson? Hitters like Floyd and Larry Walker? It will never make sense why the players weren't kept...
Ken Hill again. He looks guilty.
Randy Milligan was not only a name I didn't recognize, but his face in a lineup you may. A subtle smile...

Kirk isn't having any of it. He was up all night at a party most likely. But, what happened at that party? His face tells nothing.
There wasn't much to explore today but plenty of mysteries that need YOUR help to be figured out.
This does it for Episode Four of Unsolved Mysteries. There is a lot of unexplained findings here with even more mysteries to unravel. Tune in next time for the FINALE and Perhaps YOU, can help solve the biggest mystery.

A 90's trio that I found a lot in packs. Was someone spying on me knowing this information ahead of time? Or was there a conspiracy?
An insert line that says Lottery Legends when it should say Lottery busts. Intriguing.
Except this one. This guy turned out okay. But, why did only one make it big time. Mystery....
Ghosted players in the background or are they really ghosts....
There was a lot of Prism in the box but all base except this one parallel. Staley was left stale in the lot.
Why would you ever leave such a great looking insert behind? Is there more to this card than I know?
How did Don Shula lead the Dolphins to the only undefeated season ever in the history of the NFL?
Why did Upper Deck create such fun parallels and products for kids with Collectors Choice than made the product disappear out of nowhere? it just vaniiiiiiiiisshheed.......................
Cardinals in the 90's, a mysteriously bad team.
299/299. Why was the end of the line found in this box? Why Ahman Green? Will my friend Bryan like this card? Lots of questions that will need to be answered.
So much creativity in inserts at one time with this hobby and then it all disappeared? Why don't we number inserts anymore and drive up their worthiness of being called an insert?
This does it for Episode Three of Unsolved Mysteries. There is a lot of unexplained findings here with even more mysteries to unravel. Tune in next time and Perhaps YOU, can help solve a mystery.

Unsolved Mysteries Episode 1
This blog post series is about unraveling unsolved mysteries from a card lot my mother-in-law bought me from an estate sale. What you are about to see isn't a breaking news broadcast or some new releases. There is a lot to go through here so whenever possible, I will try to condense down some of the graphics and whenever possible, real cards from the actual lot (well all of them are from the actual lot but let's have some fun with it) will be used for pictures.
Someone, somewhere can help me uncover the mysteries within this lot. Let's take a look and maybe one of you, will help me solve some mysteries.
*insert creepy music and theme song. I swear that song could have been used in the movie Halloween it's so creepy. It gives me the chills still*
My mother in law had driven to a remote location where they held monthly estate sales and she went there looking for some furniture. That's when she walked through the door and immediately noticed this pile of cards. She stuck them under the table knowing she would go back once she found out a price.
She went looking for someone to ask how much when a man walked over to her.
"How much for the sports cards?"
The man told asked her, "Do you plan on taking them all?"
She politely responded, "yes."
"Well then, how does $25 for them all sound?"
"Sounds good."
She hadn't expected quite a deal on them since most of the times when she hunts down cards for me from these kind of lots and they are $25 for each item. She was afraid she would have to leave some behind, but now she didn't. Whoever this man was that day, he had given her a blessing. But why? Was he trying to just get rid of them? Were they all base cards? Were they all damaged? Or was there more to the story.
We need to solve this mystery and find the answers by looking at what the contents were.
A almost filled base set of 2002 Ex baseball.
Why is it almost filled? Why not have finished it? Mysteries Unsolved.
Four incredible looking NASCAR die cut inserts. Why would you toss these in the box? What kind of cruel monster would just toss these and not keep them?
Is this a memorabilia card? Or is it a plain insert? Hmmm...
Two hologram cards I haven't ever seen but now want a set of. Were these purposely planted in there?
Brett Bodine autograph was a first random find. There were some cards in screwdown holders that were the best of the box, but why have this random card without a sleeve tucked into the box unprotected?
Rickey Henderson....enough of a mystery.
Who are the Expos...another mystery.
Why was a Boomer Esiason rookie card just tossed in there? Very random as it was the only '86 Topps card of the lot.
Kobe Bryant insert? I am Starstruck by why he would do this.
Four Triple Doubles. The mystery is deep here when it should be three to make it a Triple.
This does it for Episode One of Unsolved Mysteries. There is a lot of unexplained findings here with even more mysteries to unravel. Tune in next time and Perhaps YOU, can help solve a mystery.

And to end this section, a player I have never heard of. Was he missing in action or was I when he played baseball?
