I Wanted Them

You ever just see a card that you just want and get it just because of that purpose? I would hope so, that's what collecting to me is all about.

My latest additions were finds on eBay that popped up and caught my attention.

This Dark Horses insert from 2021 Certified looks great, even better in person. I like the black/rainbow foil offset.

Another Saquon. This time as a Franchise Favorite. I am not sure with the last two seasons if he fits in that wording anymore. I am still a fan and am hopeful he can turn things around once he gets back in to play.

 

My final card, Azeez Ojulari autograph. It was more of a need than a want. I needed his autograph for my Giants collection, but wanted one in a Giants uniform.

I have more new Giants card additions to show off soon once my Burbank Sportcards order arrives. Until then, have a great Friday.

Kadarius Toney

Another one of my new segments on here is to show off my Giants PC by player (mainly hits or cool cards). This way I can upload most of my bigger collections into the blog for others to view.

The first one I am kicking it off with is Kadarius Toney, one of the newer Giants. Toney was drafted in the first round in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Gmen. They have been looking to get more weapons on offense and this guy is a multi-tooled weapon who can do a lot of things (keep in mind I am typing this up before the Giants season opener so I have no idea how he actually played).

Toney did not get to show much off in the preseason due to injuries and Covid related reasons so hopefully he will be their secret weapon.

Last year, I didn't collect any Giants as the group was a defensive one and for those kind of draft classes I like to stay focused only on getting an autograph of each player. So I was excited when the Giants grabbed an offensive weapon, however, I wasn't excited to see how high his stuff was for a guy that's a 4th WR right now.

Pretty cool huh? I hope to keep adding to it while not drifting to far away from my more important PC's.

Player HITlights: Owamagbe Odighizuwa

Today's featured Player HITlight has a really tough name to spell out without having a card next to you to type it off from.

Owamagbe Odighizuwa, okay I cheated this time and copied and pasted the name from my post title, was a third round pick of the Giants in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was supposed to be that missing pass rushing piece the Giants needed after losing Osi, Tuck and Strahan years prior and was to pair up with JPP.

Well, like a lot of draft picks during that time for the Giants he didn't quite pan out. Injuries took up his rookie season and in 2017 he got caught with PED's by the NFL and shortly after was released by the Giants.

He signed with the Bills in 2018 but didn't last more than a few months of the offseason there.

His NFL career ended with 6 total tackles.

I collected quite a few of his cards and was sent some from other collectors as well,

MMMB: Landing Some Juniors

Every week, I host a sales thread on Twitter for those who do that kinda thing and @kemptribe joined in with a lot of Griffeys that caught my attention. But, without hobby funds, I always jump to asking if trading was an option which it was. Not everyone goes for trading when I ask, but I will say that about 85% do which is why it's never a bad thing to ask.

I just needed some new Griffeys in my life. If only I could update my PC numbers on here at some point.

Our trade even went further than Griffey as there was also some Giants cards I needed as well. A red Score Epix and Illusions Saquon. I really like the Illusions base card design.

Eli Manning Ring Of Honor. I miss Topps football and these inserts. I have about 10 of these cards of Eli overall between chrome and base and I don't ever plan on letting them go.

 

Our trade also helped me add a couple of RJ Barretts.
