Nuttin' But The Yankee Hits Part 4th Of July

Legends Of NY is what I call this last part. Well, maybe not so much legends as maybe some names you will recognize. And what a day to showcase the fireworks then the 4th of July!

Panini 75th Cooperstown product was way underrated by collectors. It was a superb product and one that I pulled this on card autograph of Dave Winfield from.

Taking me back to the 90's is this Charlie Hays autograph.

I busted one box of Prime Cuts back in 2012 and pulled a redemption. That redemption was for this Whitey Ford that surprisingly only took a couple of months to arrive. Solid looking card and I like the inscription. As I have gotten older I have come to appreciate autographs of Hall Of Famers more than those of the newer generation.

Roy White. Sorry for the blurry pic. I miss this Topps product.

Goose Gossage has such a nice signature. I picked up this card for $3 from a Yard Sale. It was either signed in person or TTM.

Lindy McDaniel is another player with a solid autograph. I pulled this myself.

I honestly can't tell you a single thing about Steve Balboni. I have no idea who he is but a Yankee is a Yankee to me.

And finally, Bobby Richardson. I really wished Topps would revive this brand of retired legends autographs on chrome.

 

Well, other than some Derek Jeter relics, that's it for my Yankees hits. It's a really sad PC but I am happy with what I have so far but it still has a long ways to grow. 

As I am sorting some other Yankee cards out, I am thinking about doing another Yankees series on here of players I forgot wore pinstripes at one point. Should be interesting I think.

Nuttin' But The Yankee Hits Part 3

Part 3 gives us some better Yanks to showcase before I finish up with some old timers tomorrow.

Here are a couple of Moose relics. He was another great Yankees acquisition. I really like the pinstripe swatch on the Ultra card.

Godzilla!!!! I remember going to the local home show and finding a box of 2003 Upper Deck MVP baseball trying to chase down his rookie card and pulled one. Later on I added the Prestige pants swatch and traded for the bat swatch last year. Would love to add an autograph someday.

McCann wasn't a Yankee for long but did okay with them. This is my only Yankees hit of him.

CC. Feels like this guy has been around for ever and ever. Well, he has. At least it appears he will finish his career with the Yankees. If you look closely at this trio of relics you would think I have three of the same card, well, that's not the case. It appears Topps got lazy and used the same photo on the bottom one as well.

This card serves as both Yankees hit PC and a unique relic swatch since it's from a workout jersey from the All Star game.

Robinson Cano was another Yankee who left too soon like Soriano. This guy could simply hit the ball hard.

My favorite card of my Cano's is this Topps 60th relic. I like the design and the swatch.

 

There's the end of Part 3. Only one more medium sized showcase left to go. Like I said, my Yankees hits PC is pretty small.

Nuttin' But The Yankee Hits Part 2

Part 2 of my Yankee hits PC is a bit stronger than the first part.

We kick it off with the Rocket. At one time this card was my most favorite card in my Yankees PC. I was a huge Clemens fan in the 90's and when the Yankees made a move for him, I was so excited. I used to pretend I was him in the backyard with my buddies when we played baseball. He was the ace of my staff. Then I found out he was part of the 'roid generation and Roger is no longer a favorite in my collection.

A couple of sweet Giambi relics including a base swatch from the Ex line. Giambi falls under the same feelings I had for Clemens.

I never felt Bernie Williams ever got enough respect for what he did for the Yankees in the league. I always respected him and enjoyed watching him play. These are my only two relics I have of him including once again another one of those base relics I pulled in a box. I just also realized I didn't post my autograph of him for this series. Oh well, another time.

This card was actually a pretty tough pull back in the day when I pulled it. The International Connection Piece Of The Actions were much tougher than the base versions which is why this Posada had some added value to it. But, that's not why I liked it. It's my one and only Jorge hit in my collection.

A couple of young Yanks who never quite panned out. Romine is a TTM I got from Dennis over at Too Many Verlanders.

I know a lot find the Topps Holiday boxes another money grab, but I think it's a cool designed fun product. I like plain swatch relics a whole lot more on this design. Here is my only one like this with Pineda.

Another one of my favorite Yankees was Soriano. I wished he could have stayed instead of having been traded off for A-roid. This is my only hit of him in a Yankees uni. I only consider my Yankees PC hits of players in pinstripes only.

Drew Henson. Only good at college sports even though he tried both NFL and MLB. Still a cool card with a guy who did two sports.

And the best Mickey Mantle card I have in my PC. Isn't that sad. I don't own a single vintage card or real hit of the Yankee great.

Nuttin' But The Yankee Hits Part 1

I finally took a moment to dig out all of my Yankee hits to showcase on here. I do a lot of posts but not many focus on my Yankees PC or even mention the Yankees. That's because a lot of my focus in my collecting today doesn't put the Yankees up to the top anymore.

My main preferences are usually NY Giants, non sport or late 90's these days but it doesn't mean I wouldn't pick up a Yankees card for my PC here and there if one was available. My main Yankee wants right now are AARON JUDGE and DEREK JETER anything. Just hopefully I don't have it.

The Yankee hits I am showcasing in this four part series does not include my Derek Jeter relics, there are not many of those to show either, or my Aaron Judge hits which is just the two autographs, but the other stuff I have collected over the years. I may have to dig out my Jeters at another point to show off and re-post the Judge's.

Today, on the other hand, we kick off this series with a Clint Frazier relic from Topps Heritage Minors. Technically not Yankees, but I acquired this relic after the Yankees added Clint so I count it that way.

Tyler Austin who learned what the Yankees and Red Sox rivalry is all about fast and is having a pretty solid season.

Sevvy. I like his signature and the look of this overall card.

Phil Hughes. This guy was said to be the next Roger Clemens but never really panned out in NY.

I don't know much about Heathcott, I just liked the look of the card and the pinstripe.

Nick Johnson auto I added thanks to Breakdown Cards awhile back. So much open space on this card they definitely could have added more pictures or have turned it into a dual auto.

And to finish it up, Sean Henn autograph. He has a weird signature to boot. Even though Sean wasn't a superstar, I saw this card and traded for it because I liked the look of the card and I have always been fond of Spx.
