Remnants Of A Yard Sale Breakdown Part 2

Yesterday I posted my first round of my latest yard sale find and today I am posting the rest of it.

Up to this point and even today's post is focused on 90's inserts and rookies. So let's see more of it!

More Gold Medallions. These may be one of the sharpest parallels of at least 1995. Later on they made the Gold Medallions not so obvious.

Score inserts and more gold finds!

More inserts/parallels. The Philly Phanatic was just a cool card and the Topps Laser was just awesome.

Fleer Inserts. I did find a few double inserts in this box but some were new. I really like the Golden Memories Inserts and the Viola.

Team 2000. I feel like I have 2000 of these.

Some NBA inserts. The Kidd Stick Um I liked finding.

And to finish it out, some early 90's baseball cards including Lou Brock.

 

Overall, a very solid $5 find in my opinion. Like I said I didn't post them all as there were some other inserts and even 6 Rodney Hampton's. I am pretty sure they are all doubles, but they were in there at least.

I would be surprised if you guys didn't agree that I got my money's worth. But, I am going to ask anyways, do you think I got my money back?

A Shiny Thank You

I always enjoy giving back to the hobby. Whether it's doing giveaways on here, on Twitter, handing cards out to kids at my yard sales or surprising collectors in the mail, it's always such a joy to see other collectors happiness from my giving.

I have never asked for anything in return except that you enjoy. I also hope that it influences you to pay it forward to someone else with some #HobbyLove. 

Today, I was shown some #HobbyLove by @JGfan24ever on Twitter. He sent this beautiful mixture of Panini Prizm cards as a thank you for all that I do for the hobby. It's quite an honor coming from someone who also gives out a lot of #HobbyLove himself.

Let's take a look at what he sent:

Mail Day Saturday:Reader's Mail Day Part 4:SHINE BABY, SHINE!

As always with my Grady M reader mail days, I save the shiniest for last.

These are in no particular order, because I just can't choose one favorite shiny card over another. And honesty, there is no order of madness here.  I didn't group them by sport or by anything, instead I just let the photo's simply upload where they wanted to.

Up first, a beautiful dumping of Topps Chrome refractors. Larry Fitzgerald, Percy Harvin, and Andre Johnson to name a few. Along with some rookies.

 

True Colors. Yes, the Phil Collins version of that song just popped into my head. One of my favorite inserts last year from Topps was Cut To The Chase. They look really good.

 

Some hockey shine including St.Louis from my Rangers.

 

Going to miss seeing Topps Platinum on the market in 2016. Was a hobby staple for me for awhile.

 

More goods. Chase Headley that's numbered to 199.

 

Some more 2016 Topps I don't have. I still haven't opened any :( This pile includes former Yankees Almonte.

 

I wished more flagship parallels looked like this. If they could turn the gold borders this way instead of a slight gold tinge, that would look amazing.

 

Prizm always looks nice to me. I know some really don't care for the product, but I am a fan.

And to finish it off, this really sick looking Randall Cobb from Prizm. Don't tell me this card doesn't look nice and it's numbered to 75.

 

Overall, a great 4-part mail day. I can't say thanks enough Grady for all that you do for me. I hope you enjoy your package I put together when it arrives as well and I have begun setting aside a few more things for you for next time :)

Like Basketball Cards? Here Ya Go Part 1

I have already revealed some of the goodies on here that I got from my former teacher's son, but now I am getting into the heart and soul of the lot. THE BINDERS. There were two binders overall and both were super packed with stuff. Most of it was basketball, but there were a few baseball and even football sprinkled in.

So if you are a fan of basketball cards or even was at one point, especially in the 90's, you are gonna wanna check these out!

I think the best way to sum up these pages it just to point out a few favorites of mine off each page. If not, I could go on for hours and you will leave early. So, here we go.

I was a huge fan of Ex in the late 90's. The cards were stunning and possibly the best base cards of the 90's other than the late Spx years. Though I wasn't a Mashburn fan (being a Knicks fan in the 90's any Heat players cramped my style), I am a huge fan of the design.

HAKEEEEEEEEEEEMM OLAJUWON!! Flair Showcase was the bomb! Was super stoked that Upper Deck revived it last year.

Metal was another fun product. The PMG's were rare hits and something I am still trying to chase down one of from the 90's. I don't care about the player, I JUST NEED ONE!

Hello Mr. Robinson....sorry just had to....

More metal and one of my other favorite products, Fleer Ultra. This particular design was probably my favorite one.

Like I said, there are a few other sports sprinkled in. I really liked these Jackie Robinsons from 1997 Upper Deck.

And the end of the pages for today's posts were delivered.....by...THE MAILMAN, Mr. Karl Malone! Seems this guy I bought them from liked collecting Malone. I really liked watching him and wished just once he could have beaten Jordan in the finals and had won a championship.

The Stadium Club here, middle card of the page, was one of my favorite designs for that product.

I really liked these Hardwood Leader inserts. They fell one-per-pack in Fleer and was part of the reason why I bought so much Fleer basketball in the 90's.

I was pretty impressed overall with both binders with the mix of sports, rookies and inserts.

Grady M Mail Day Part 2/7:NYK/Baseball Inserts

In Part 2 of my most recent Grady M mail day, I am sharing the basketball cards and baseball inserts he sent.

Time to view on!

Knicks players and inserts. There wasn't a lot of basketball this time but some good ones and ones I didn't have.

Now onto the baseball inserts. These were very 2015 Topps baseball heavy which I didn't mind at all since I still haven't gotten my hands onto any.

Still hard for me to see Cano in a Seattle jersey. Will always be a Yankee to me.

This was a cool concept. I like these types of inserts.

And now the conclusion.

There were a couple Gold Parallels and the Kershaw is a rainbow foil, the first time I had seen one up close, included in the box. Topps did a great job with the parallels in 2015 in my opinion. It's been awhile since they put nice looking parallels in flagship.

The Jack White is new to me as well and not one of the ones Grady sent in his last package. Now I have four in that set. I still really like that concept and the pictures used on them are hilarious to me.
