Super Collections: @JGfan24ever's Logan Thomas Collection

I have followed Michael, @JGfan24ever, since I basically started Twitter and I have been very impressed with his Logan Thomas Super Collection. I must also note, we have been very good friends since then as well and I am glad he wanted to join in on this segment.

ORIGINS IN HIS WORDS:

"I like underdogs.I started collecting him when the Cardinals Gave up on him. I knew he would be smart and do whatever it took to play football. He has been doing very well at Tight End and think he will just get better and his cards will never leave my collection. Always looking to add more of his cards."

NUMBERS:

253 Cards in the collection

COLLECTION:

If you have any Logan Thomas that you don't think he does, just contact him via Twitter @JGfan24ever. If you are reading this and have a Super Collection you want to share to the world, just contact me on Twitter @collec_sport OR email me sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Good Guys

I got into "internet hobby" in 2012 and have "met" some great people in that time.

One of my longer friends is @JGfan24ever on Twitter who recently sent me a RAK.

Michael targeted many of my collections in this mail day.

Non sport in dinosaurs...I used to be a dino-geek as well so these cards always draw my attention.

Giants, this Ojulari is an extra points purple /149. Great looking card of an upcoming player.

Some Yankees,

I didn't get any Topps Gallery this year, so Michael sent me a few for my collection. This Yogi is a green parallel /249

Gehrig and Garcia base.

Gerrit Cole Contenders base and green parallel

Then he targeted my Griffey PC

Optic Mythical insert

And then two graded inserts,

Upper Deck Superstar Summit

2000 hologrfx Longball Legacy insert

Thanks again to one of the hobby good guys, Michael.

Thoughts on my mail day is welcomed in comments!

Dinosaurs And Dino Roars

I was fortunate enough before Christmas to receive a couple of RAK's from a couple of Twitter hobby members. The first I will show off today followed by the next that I will show off tomorrow.

Today's RAK was from my long time Twitter friend @JGfan24ever.

Lenticular Dinosaur cards. Both a 90's feel and dinosaurs which I have always enjoyed.

Canvas feeling Dinosaur minis.

TTM or In-Person autos? I really like all three of them.

90's insert in Marino, need to see if it's a need for my set chase and a Gleyber Torres for my player collection.

An assortment of non sport cards.

Jasson Dominguez!!!! What a shiny, fun, new PC piece! I didn't have this one for my Dominguez PC.

And to finish it up, an Aaron Judge Ornament from the 2021 Topps Holiday. I really liked the look of these this year. Put last years to shame with the foil. This may be a set chase down the road.

Thanks again to Michael for the mail day. I really need to send you a return thank you at some point.

Thoughts on my mail day and the cards are welcomed below!

MMMB:Nice Scores From Friends

@JrNoble1 hit me up again with another RAK recently filling in some much needed gaps in my collection. Such as this Griffey from Update.

This Yordan Holiday rookie. You may see this one again around Christmas.

Purple parallel, I believe, of Jr in Update. Update may not have had the best of rookies this year like past years but replacing it with Griffey I won't complain.

Thanks again @JrNoble1!

My next mail day comes via @JGfan24ever who has on and off exchanged packages with me for years.

Sweet Purple Saquon!!!

Laser Slayton. That's how I look at his game when he is healthy.

And Gary Sanchez refractor. Haven't seen one of these but it's a beaut Clark.

Thanks to Michael for a superb mail day!

Rodney's Cardboard:2020 Mosaic Choice Fusion Red

Thanks to Michael, @JGfan24ever, my newest Rodney Hampton has arrived.

The second of 8 Rodney Hamptons I need is the no numbered Fusion Red.

Even though it's not numbered or rare, it's the color scheme that is what makes this card so appealing. It combines the three colors that makes not only USA, but also NY Giants football.

Even though the card has three colors, the red part is what defines this as the parallel. The base autograph has silver behind Rodney.

The back of the card is the typical Panini boringness on their hits. I really wished they could find a way to spice things up. I think adding a picture of Rodney signing the stickers like in the 90's early 2000's back when they used to put pictures of the memorabilia items on the back would be perfect.

Thanks to Michael for this latest add.

I Miss You Upper Deck

Upper Deck always played a role in my collecting.

I started collecting some form of their products from the beginning of my collecting era, however I haven't been buying too much in the last few years now that they don't have the rights to make MLB, NBA and NFL cards which are the three sports I collect the most.

With their only license being hockey and it looking that way for some time, it appears I won't be adding too much more Upper Deck in the near future either. Though I do REALLY like their Goodwin Champions product but I can never find it locally.

So for now I will enjoy what we once had at our fingertips and just like Saturday Morning cartoons, you never know how much you miss something once it's gone.

@JGfan24ever recently sent me a package full of NY Giants which was packed full of 2008 Upper Deck. The product that celebrated the Giants Super Bowl 42 win over the undefeated New England Patriots.

I do have all of these, but this Super Bowl was so special to me that I break out of my norm of not keeping duplicates in my collection to keeping them.

I will never get sick of celebrating this win.

Plaxico's game winning Touchdown

The Giants defense taking it all out on Tom Brady

The Key to the city!

Shockey watching the game from the suite after getting injured in the season. But, that wasn't a bad thing as the Giants turned to Kevin Boss who made a huge play in the game.

Toomer finally reaching the ultimate destination

Jacobs plowing Patriots over. No better sound than that.

Also in the 2008 Upper Deck product came the Giants rookie class from that year,

One of these players, yes I am looking at you Mario Manningham, would make a huge play four years later when these two teams met up again and the Giants took home yet another trophy.

Looking at cards like these and my 90's Spx project makes me happy that I lived through a time where Upper Deck owned the hobby. Their photography, holograms and the way they engaged fans with their products was like no other out there.

I hope some day we will get the opportunity to enjoy all of that again just as I am holding out hope that those Saturday mornings with a bowl of Cap'N Crunch and a three hour block of cartoons will make their return as well.

Pillars Of The Game

Bloggers Note: this post was typed up back in September so I am just getting it published now. Who knows how far or how far not the Giants or players featured in this post have come

The NY Giants season is still young, but it appears this young team may have a bright future. How far down that road is the bright future? I don't know. I just know the pieces appear to be in place for it.

In the meantime, I will collect the future before it hits full power.

Darius Slayton has shown signs of life and for some reason for me has shown that maybe I should start a PC of him. Of course I always worry about PCing newer players not knowing how long they will be on the team or in the league for. Hence Rueben Randle and Andre Williams.

Thanks to my friend @JGfan24ever for grabbing this beaut (besides the 00 jersey) for me from @ACFCARDS1.

Here is my best Slayton to date, a green ink, green parallel /50 I recently got in a trade with @card_a_holic who busted a box of 2019 Spectra for his birthday which I think was a box intended for me as three of the hits were for me. And they literally were thanks to this trade.

This was another one of those hits, Michael Strahan Pillars Of The Game.

And the final hit I fell absolutely head over heels for. /15 Pink Pillars Of The Game Lawrence Taylor. The only sad part about this card is the fact it's a player worn jersey. Really? Really? Player worn? I don't know why we don't have more Game Worn jerseys in this hobby.

Rookies I somewhat understand as they hadn't hit the field yet, but maybe at least get their preseason game worn ones. But Legends of the game such as LT should be Game Worn.

A big thanks goes out to @card_a_holic for another successful trade. I look forward to our next!

Cardboard Generosity Strikes Again!

I am not sure what I did to deserve to be treated the way I did, but I hope whatever it is, I am making sure that I also treat others the same way.

Last week I was gifted some cardboard in the mail by a couple of collectors. One, I have known for a long time and one that I had just met.

First up, @JGfan24ever worked his magic and bought me this Cody Latimer auto for my Giants PC. I know he isn't wearing Giants blue, but it works for me and he could become a big contributor this season without Odell and down Corey Coleman and also without Golden Tate the first four games.

Thanks for the autograph Michael!

The next mail day came from @Metallicarl who is apart of a weekly giveaway thread that @ngtcollectibles hosts on Twitter I have been apart of. So far I have given but not received in that thread. Which is fine as it is better to give, but was really cool to find out something was heading my way.

And here is what he sent!

Phil Simms

Amani Toomer. I had forgotten about this 90's design

Some Rodney cardboard. The rookie I am setting out to chase 100 copies of. It's my goal with three of his rookies including the 1990 Topps and 1990 Score.

Eli! Gonna have a big year. Just wait.

Mixed players including an Eli

LT!!! And Eli and a Dave Meggett to help my set for 1995 Sportflix. That's a double PC card

Older Gmen

Then came some vintage Giants. Not names I know because of my age, but I am really enjoying these. I have been wanting to add some older Giants to my collection to round it out better.

Back to newer stuff

Ike

The Thunder is coming!

More Ike. So it's Ike And Ike...

Joe Jur

One of my favorite Giants Free Agent pick ups all time. Plax made Eli. Gonna throw that out there.

And we end with some Tiki.

Appreciate the mail day @Metallicarl!

And one more card that was passed along from @Neil_Russell41 who is also apart of a weekly giveaway thread that @ngtcollectibles hosts on Twitter sent this Daniel Jones Score insert.

Thanks Neil!! Now I need to update my Giants PC numbers on here.

Some great cardboard generosity in this mail day. Seeing a lot of this going around recently and I am happy to be apart of the giving right along with it.
