Dino-Might!

I know many people don't like Leaf Trading cards, but, they are putting out some sweet looking cards. 

And this is coming from someone who normally isn't a fan of theirs either because the cards lack licensing.

But Topps or Panini don't put anything that look this good,

 

Don't tell me these didn't catch your attention.

These are 2023 Wild Card Allumination Dino-Might cards. I almost have the full dinosaur rainbow, just missing the raptor. Hopefully someday I can finish that up and I would like to replace the stegosaurus to match the other ones.

Because my hobby OCD needs it.

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Topps Composite Resurgence Black Autograph /2

 Yup! You read that right, Rodney's Cardboard is back!

After a hiatus since December, I brought Rodney back to his original home.

Cards Over Coffee is a really tough place to post football cards and Big Blue Cardboard doesn't have the reach, now it's time for Rodney to take over some Sunday's again.

Speaking of Sunday's, today is Super Bowl Sunday.

If you have read this blog, you know who I will be rooting on today. I hate the Eagles, I like Patrick Mahomes, it's plain and simple. But, I do worry the Eagles will pull off the win today. Saquon has been playing lights out all season so hopefully the Chiefs will plan on that.

Now onto Rodney.

Today's Rodney comes thanks to my friend and fellow blogger Wes who helped me acquire my lowest numbered Rodney from Topps Composite.

This is the black parallel /2. Which the numbering is seen right on the front. Not something you see a lot of.

Back of the card is as lame as can be.

Won't You Be My (Malik) Nabers?

 

Recently, I have been adding to my Malik Nabers collection.

I am not sure why I didn't chase him more throughout the season, but now I am.

I think I am still so hesitant on chasing Giants players after watching what happened to Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley and even Odell Beckham Jr and having over 200+ of their cards. 

Hopefully Nabers will be a Giant for life. But, in today's sports, players don't have the dedication to their teams anymore.

Eli Manning #1,133

 

Another day, another Eli.

Eli Manning #1,133 was acquired because I dig shiny cards and this shiny card is /150. This card is out of Panini's 2024 Black Friday set.

I am not usually one for non-photograph looking base, but I actually think this one is pretty eye catchy so thought I would add it.

Case Hits

 

I have been acquiring some football case hits recently as those are the best-looking inserts out there now-a-days.

In the 90's, almost every insert and even some base cards were better looking than most of today's inserts. I feel a lot of today's inserts, especially in baseball, are just recycled year to year. Where's the creativity? What's going to draw me in?

The answer, the case hits. But, they are tough to land...because...they are case hits.

My favorite acquisition so far in 2024 (yes grabbed this last year, not this year) for case hits is the one in this post of Bo Nix with Prestige State Of The Art.

Will The Giants Draft Him Part 1? Cam Ward

The New York Football Giants currently have no quarterback on their roster they are sticking with and a Top 3 draft pick to get their future one. 

The question is, who and when will they draft him.

To plan accordingly, I acquired a couple autographs of two top QB prospects I have heard them being connected to. And no, I have not landed a Sanders autograph yet.

Today's autograph is Cam Ward. He is known as the Top QB currently in this year's draft but with the combine coming up, that could change everything.

Will the Giants draft him? Will this be their guy? We will find out around April 24th.

Eli Manning #1,132

The Eli's have been slowly coming in as I am creeping towards my ultimate goal, which is 1,500. Though I plan to keep going from there, it's just a goal I want to reach first.

 

My latest add was a cheap one and when I can add a cheap game used relic, I will. Especially since they don't make game used football relics anymore. We don't even know who or what wears them now.

I hope to keep adding to my Eli relic collection. Maybe this one puts me at a milestone, I have no idea. I might have to look into that.

Random Card Of The Day: 2024 Score First Ballot Julius Peppers

Rodney's Cardboard:2023 Topps Composite Resurgence Amped Up Auto Jersey Orange /25

Last week I showed off my first 2023 Topps Composite Resurgence Amped Up Auto Jersey which was the purple /99, now I am showing off the only other one I have.

This one is the orange /25 and features two patch swatches, though they aren't as colorful as I have seen on others.

But it's acquired and off the list. So that's what really matters.

  

The orange part of this parallel is only around the boxes that enclose the jersey just like the purple one. The only other real big difference is the wavy refractor shine on this one is different.

 

Back of the card is still it's lame self. Come on Topps, put some effort in!
