How do you think Fanatics has done since taking over? How would you like to see them improve the hobby going forward? What are some positives and negatives about Fanatics taking over? Or any other thoughts on Fanatics?

As an old time collector - I would like them to concentrate on the base set and hold back on the inserts. I know it is not going to happen. If they had one big hit per box or case that could be well publicized - like serial number gold chrome cards of the Top players, like Trout, Mahomes, Wemby - it could have that Willy Wonka golden ticket effect.
ReplyDeleteFor the most part, I don't think things have changed much. What has changed for me is that they've gotten rid of some of the cheaper sets--Opening Day, Gypsy Queen, Fire, that sort of thing. I can see why some of the concepts had been overdone, but I'd like them to bring in one or two new sets along those lines. More inexpensive blasters and more current cards which turn up in dime boxes.
ReplyDeleteThe only change that I have seen is that they Fanatics is punishing the last remaining hobby shops. Catering more to the "breakers" than Topps did before. I would like to see the parallels go away.
