You Voted For The Blog Name, Here Are The Results!

Towards the end of last year, I put up a post asking you to give me some suggestions as a blog name for this blog since I don't like the current one. I then set up a poll to see which names would come out on top.

You guys voted and here is how the voting came out.....

Shiny Happy Cardboard	6 (17%)
Catching Whales	1 (2%)
Snagging Cardboard	3 (8%)
Cardboard Catch	3 (8%)
G MEN SPOT	1 (2%)
The Card Bin	10 (28%)
Cardboard Paradise	3 (8%)
Sport Card Collectors	15 (42%)
Card Collector Daily	4 (11%)
Flooded With Cardboard	0 (0%)
The Adventures Of Cardsorting	4 (11%)
The Cardboard Strikes Back	2 (5%)

It appears the majority of you want to keep the Sport Card Collectors name alive. Even though I was strongly thinking about changing the name (especially after adding in the new layout look), looking at the dominating results I don't think I can. Especially with the two that I really liked in Shiny Happy Cardboard and Snagging Cardboard as they didn't get voted on too much. The Adventures of Cardsorting was pretty catchy too.

Let me know which one or ones you voted on. At this point who would just be fun to hear your thoughts on why you voted for what you did.

SCC Segment Poll Results

I did a similar poll to this one back at the end of June to see which of my segments is most popular. With some newer ones in place, I decided a second poll was in need to see if opinions on some had changed and found out that they had.

The first time the results were pretty even across the board, this time they are much different with a few surprises to me as I see the views on my end.

Let's take a look at this round and see how the segments fared. Then you will get my thoughts on it.

Hobby Topic	7 (20%)
Caption This!	0 (0%)
What's In The Box?	12 (35%)
This vs That	3 (8%)
Reviews	7 (20%)
Breakin Wax (different than reviews)	8 (23%)
90's Flashback	9 (26%)
Reminiscing 90's	5 (14%)
Opinion Stories	2 (5%)
Mail Days	11 (32%)
I Miss The Hobby	6 (17%)
Throwback CardsDay	2 (5%)

What's In The Box finishing at the top spot wasn't much of a surprise. It was my highest viewed series. The sad part is I had to end it as I showed off all of the contents. Mail days coming in second was a bit of a surprise. My mail days are more top eight than second. The more highly viewed Hobby Topic finished in the middle of the pack and third best viewed Caption This! never got a vote. I guess people don't enjoy captioning the cards as much as I do.

Another top 5 in views on my blog is This vs That which nailed only three votes. Breakin Wax and my Reviews always score high but I was a bit surprised my opinion stories failed to only get two votes. Guess a lot of you don't agree with my thoughts lol.

Newcomer Reminiscing 90's did well, but 90's Flashback did even better despite being on the lower end of being viewed. Weird how things worked out.

Let me know your thoughts on these and which one is your favorite!

Vote Please!

Once again I have placed a poll on the upper right side of the blog. It is also one I have done before a couple of months ago on your favorite segments. Why do this one again and especially so quickly? I just wanted some feedback for an end of the year post that will publish on December 31st. I have also given more time on this poll to vote and hopefully everyone that reads this or stops by will give their input.

You can vote for more than one segment if you enjoy more than one. This is not a vote to eliminate any of the current segments and is just being used as feedback to me on possible new ones for 2016 to add to this already star studded lineup.

Thanks to all of you in advance who take a second out to vote. You guys rock!

PS: You will notice one NEW segment on the poll that will be coming up soon. I am very excited about this one.

Results And Thoughts On Favorite Topic Voting

About the start of July, I had you guys vote on your favorite blog segments. This was supposed to run til the end of July but I hadn't seen any voting in over a week, so I thought it was time to pull it and show you the results.

Here they are:

Hobby Topic	4 (23%)
Caption This!	3 (17%)
Breakin Wax	4 (23%)
Reviews	8 (47%)
What's In The Box?	6 (35%)
General Stories	6 (35%)
90's Flashback	7 (41%)
Throwback CARDSday	4 (23%)
I Miss The Hobby	4 (23%)
This vs That	5 (29%)
Hobby Tips	4 (23%)

It's pretty even across the board as I expected as most of my posts have similar amount of views. I was a bit surprised with the lack of excitement with Caption This however, but I don't plan on pulling that and even have one coming up this week. I think it's fun to see what you guys come up with.

I was happy to see good numbers for my Reviews (I put up to an hour into EACH one) and for 90's Flashback as many must have the same love for that era I do.

As I stated when putting up this poll, this wasn't meant for change, this was meant to give me an idea in general to see if I can increase in one area more than another. These topics and others will remain intact.

Now that the votes are in, I want to ask you straight out knowing you can only choose one, which topic do you enjoy reading the most?

Sport Card Collectors Poll # 1 (with giveaway note)

With Sport Card Collectors celebrating it's two year blogversary next week and with the new changes in effect since January, I was curious to see which new features are your favorites. This may also help me gauge which ones to keep and which ones I need to replace with a new feature.

The one thing that separates Sport Card Collectors from any other sport card blog is the interaction I give you guys on here. This is a place I want you to visit and be apart of. I want it to pop up in your search bar. So I have been trying different features to see what your interests are. Until I have this downright perfect, I will continue to tweak things here and there.

When looking at my stats, I can see some posts are not quite as popular as others. Some by a wide margin. That's why I have stuck up a poll on the RIGHT SIDE OF THE BLOG for you guys to vote on your favorites. You can vote for more than one answer. The poll ends in about 19 days in which we will give the results from the poll and possibly make some changes based upon the results. PLEASE TAKE THE TWO SECONDS TO VOTE to help me with what you guys like to see and thank you in advance!

UPDATE: On a giveaway note, our giveaway will start tomorrow! Another note, one of the steps of entering it may be involving voting on this poll. So if you want to, you have the option to vote ahead.  There will be other steps to enter but this will most likely be one of them. I really am looking for your feedback to help improve the blog anyway possible. So please vote and maybe even leave a comment and tell me your thoughts like some already have. Thanks!

NEW to Friday's Posts!

With the lack of product previews available to me, I have decided to do away with Product Preview Friday. It is too hard to chase them down and to find ones that are on time and not late. So in exchange will be the NEW Poll Day. I will be posting a new poll every Friday, starting in March (from now until the end of February will be a very busy time for me so some posts will be fillers for days that I can't post that days scheduled post, so that's why the decision was to wait til March), off to the right side of the blog. And your feedback will make up the post. SO PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE!

There will be a variety of topics ranging from who's autograph would you want more to what company is putting out the best products. And on every Friday I will post the results from the previous poll along with the new poll that will be posted on the blog. I think this would be a great way to interact with you guys and see what your collecting thoughts are.

On another note, the new segments on the blog are working well. The most popular being Caption This with the least favorite being Featured NY Giants Card. And by least favorite, it doesn't mean it's too far off from being a favorite.  I also have other topics to incorporate as well, just haven't gotten to them yet. But I do have some break 'ems coming up with retail, hobby and retro breaks.  And hope to focus on the Basics segment soon too. Possibly in March as well.

As for the cleaning off the blog process, I decided because of blogspots restrictions (only 50 posts at a time can be deleted and I have over 900 which might take a week) that all posts will stay. Which also means goodbye to Sport Card Collectors Archives. I really wanted a fresh start, but I guess in some ways I still got it even though all of the older posts still exist.

I would enjoy any feedback that you have about the new setup and what topics are your favorite and least favorite or maybe you enjoy them all. And thoughts about the new topic Poll Day.

Thanks as always for the support!
